Infamous Egg Puff

Hey guys! IT’S FRIDAY!!! Wahoooooo! 😀

This is a quickie since I’ve got a few appointments before I pack up and we hit the road to Orlando, but I thought I’d post a little video for ya’ll.

This video is how to make an egg puff. It’s super easy, but sometimes it’s more helpful to see how something’s done rather than just reading about it.

Hope you enjoy 😀

See ya on the road!
xoxo,

Gina

I agree – we need a raw foods chef on Food Network. I myself love to watch instructional food shows. I think you would be perfect – you are adorable!

I love your video! Please do more of those. I just recently started following your blog and now it is the first thing that I check each morning. I think that videos like this are SO helpful! I agree with everyone here…you should TOTALLY have your own show someday!

Mmm I really need to eat more eggs! I love that you only get one dish dirty — BONUS! You are too cute 😉 Thanks for posting.

  7. Alison on March 5, 2010 at 1:21 pm

Thanks for the video. I like the idea of not having to clean a frying pan. I imagine the egg puff would make a tasty breakfast sandwhich. I just might have to try that! Good luck at your half marathon this weekend.

Dammnnn Giiinnaa. Seriously though, someone should accidently slip this to Bobby Flay (I don’t know the other male judge’s name on the Next Food Network Star. He’s not that important and frankly, not that cute anyways)

    Love eggs.

  9. Kelly on March 5, 2010 at 1:29 pm

I’m so glad you made this video! The egg puff is so easy. I know what I’m having tomorrow morning after my workout.

thank you!! i always make those but never used the misto-great idea 🙂 I always wondered if you could figure out IP addresses for those mean comments-can you block them??

good luck this weekend and enjoy yourself 🙂

What a cute video! Love the oil spritzer 🙂

  12. HJU on March 5, 2010 at 2:23 pm

I have never commented before, but just have to say I love the video, as I have been wondering how to make the ‘puff. Yum!

Also had to say, it amazes me about some of the comments you bloggers get. Everyone has different voice tones and yours sounds very nice. I don’t understand someone’s motives to be so blatantly rude and disrespectful, though imagine those are the people who feel pretty miserable about themselves and must try to bring others down. Don’t let ’em bring you down! And especially to rip on something one has no control over anyway- geesh!!

Your blog is my fave because I love your positive attitude!!! And I am meat free while my hubby eats meat, so get great ideas. 🙂

Hope you have a fabulous half!

I have been making egg puff or “pouf de l’oeuf” as I like to call them for YEARS and everyone thinks I was a huge weirdo for eating/cooking eggs in such a manner. I get a little teary when I see you make them as I know I’m not the only egg puff lover out there!

  14. Melissa S. on March 5, 2010 at 3:37 pm

hheehehhe…this has been my dad’s egg cheat method since i was a kid. and i still do it today. LOL.

  15. Alicia on March 5, 2010 at 3:57 pm

Thanks! Love it! I’ll have to try it now.
Best of luck with the race. I also vote for a breakfast cookie video 😉

  16. Kristilyn (My 29th Year) on March 5, 2010 at 4:06 pm

Thanks for the video! I have to remember some nutritional yeast the next time I make an egg puff. And maybe use a whole egg – I haven’t done that before.

    Good luck on the race!

Good luck on your marathon. Show it who’s boss! 🙂

  21. Jennie {in Wonderland} on March 5, 2010 at 6:21 pm

Boom boom puff! Ignore me, I have been listening to the ‘Peas sing ‘Boom Boom Pow’ at the gym for about the last 75 minutes, and now I seem to be putting that word, twice, before everything I SAY!

First of all, you have a very pretty voice. Actually, you sound a bit like me! And I think I sound pretty, so there. 😉

Second of all, please make more videos! You would make an amazing chef on the FN. I can just imagine you whipping up fabulous raw meals in an adorable apron! Maybe the Pilot could do cameo appearances every once in a while?

Thirdly, good luck on the half!!!! <3

    so cool!

  25. Trish on March 5, 2010 at 8:19 pm

You’re going to have a big ego after all these posts, but I have to agree with everyone else and say you’re adorable in the video! And OMG your kitchen is e-frickin-mazing! If the FN isn’t smart enough to pick you up HGN will! 🙂

I look forward to your blog posts every single day – your blog along with ChoosingRaw are the first blogs I’ve ever made it a habit to check!

  26. Jessica on March 5, 2010 at 8:25 pm

Ahh you are so cute!! And now i’m craving an egg PUFF.

  27. Stephanie on March 5, 2010 at 8:59 pm

Love the video! But be CAREFUL with these suckers right outta the microwave and let them cool – I ate one scorching hot and had ulcers in my throat for days… ahhhh! Lesson, learned 🙂

  28. Fallon on March 5, 2010 at 10:01 pm

OOO! That is actually nice because you don’t have to pull out a pan, heat it up, dirty a dish to mix the eggs etc etc!

  29. Brittany on March 6, 2010 at 7:42 am

I use the same method to make microwaved eggs! My Dad taught me when I was little and I’ve been doing it ever since. It’s so quick and easy.

  30. elise on March 6, 2010 at 1:50 pm

awesome, but fyi infamous means famous in a bad way…and this is def not the case. so it should be titled “famous egg puff”…so cute though! more tutorials plzzzzz

  31. Claire (College:Raw) on March 6, 2010 at 9:28 pm

I LOVED the video! You are so cute!

  32. Carrie on March 8, 2010 at 1:24 am

Oh my goodness your voice is not what I expected! You seem younger than I imagined too. This sounds so much easier than frying up an egg like I do. Thanks Gina for taking the time to make the video!

  33. Vera on March 19, 2010 at 2:25 am

Just wondering, why do you keep the salt in a bag like that?=P

    xox!

    Vera

    • Fitnessista on March 19, 2010 at 9:56 am

because i don’t have an empty salt shaker. haha

  34. lindsey on October 19, 2010 at 10:01 pm

I’ve been eating these for breakfast the past week or so. My endurance at the gym is definitely more noticeable than it was with a greek yogurt breakfast. They are so fast! and you’re just so cute!

    • Fitnessista on October 19, 2010 at 10:05 pm

so awesome! 🙂 thank you <3

  35. kandi on August 20, 2011 at 11:28 am

re: the misto – is yours a different brand, or is it in fact a misto? and have you had any problems with it? i went to buy one and saw a lot of negative reviews on amazon saying it was junk after a month. wondered if you had a good one? thank you!!!!

    • Fitnessista on August 20, 2011 at 2:29 pm

i think it’s a misto- it’s from williams sonoma if that helps! i’ve had no probs with it

      • kandi on August 20, 2011 at 2:48 pm

thank you!! i just bought all the ingredients needed to make a couple of your recipes, i’m so excited to try them! love your site, thanks for sharing!

OH MY I bet your kitchen smells awful! I used to microwave eggs in boarding school… my roommates WERE NOT PLEASED! LMFAO!

  37. Shanon on August 15, 2012 at 12:22 pm

Thank you for this post.. I see it has been up for awhile but I just came across it. When I got home from the gym today I was thinking I wish there was an easy and fast way to make egg whites. I did not feel like getting out my pan and cooking them. This is perfect.

    Thank you for sharing!

  38. awwyeah on January 3, 2013 at 3:19 pm

Such a great idea, i made a layer of the egg puff, with bacon, red and green pepper, onion, mushroom and another layer of the egg, mmmm

    • Fitnessista on January 3, 2013 at 6:46 pm
