Hi guys Open-mouthed smile

Hooray for Black Friday!!!! And double hooray for the return of Ugly Christmas sweaters– they’re EVERYWHERE today Smile

us

I spent the AM racing around, ninja-kicking through stores and getting ready for the airport. There was a guest poster set up for this morning, but he had to do the war thang. Stay tuned for his post in the morning Open-mouthed smile

Shopping fuel:

oats

I’m a strong believer in protein oats the day after Thanksgiving- it helps everything feel normal again after tackling dessert mountain. This morning’s bowl had Sun Warrior, Bob’s Red Mill GF hot cereal and a giant blob of TJs almond butter. Perfect.

After shopping, we took the rental car back and then headed to the airport.

LOVE that Tucson has soft cushy couches to rest on:

I also love the Mexican skeleton art Smile

It was really hard to say goodbye to the fam after such an amazing week. Instead of being sad that I have to leave, I’m choosing to be extra thankful that I got time off work to go see them <3

Flight entertainment:

magazines

When I landed in Houston, I had to RUN to the next gate to make it on time for my Orlando flight. I ran extra fast so I could grab some food Winking smile

salad

SALAD BEAST!

Greens, tuna, kalamata olives, tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumber and lemon wedges.

I felt kinda rude for two reasons:

– I attacked my salad like I’d never seen food before

– I was *that person* who brought tuna on the plane

Good thing is that it was super fresh and didn’t smell that fishy. But still….

Well I just landed in Orlando. Hope my bag made it!!

Maybe my aunt will want to stop at Seasons 52 on the way home? Winking smile

xoxo,

Gina

I adore the “make your own salad” vendors at the airport! What lifesavers… Hope you have safe travels 🙂

I LOOOOVE tuna and wish it didn’t smell so strongly! Unfortunately I had to work today (Canadian Black Friday isn’t nearly as epic as the US and unfortunately doesn’t warrant any holidays) but I’m sooo happy to be doing nothing but relaxing tonight!! Have a great night Gina and safe trip! 🙂

I spent my Black Friday working and doing some homework! I ate a lot of spinach today (along with some leftovers) in an effort to feel normal again! 🙂

Lots of relaxing for me today and only a short visit to Anthropologie. Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving Gina!

  5. Lisa on November 26, 2010 at 8:00 pm

Just read that “US” in the supermarket haha Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving 🙂
I spent my Black Friday at a beautiful mall just browsing around and ended up finding an awesome new wool coat (even though I Found it cheaper online and now have to return lol) and a new carry on suitcase.

Aw man – didn’t realize you had to leave already! I swear your trip went so fast!

    Love the Christmas sweater 🙂
    You rock it beautifully!

  9. sassy molassy on November 26, 2010 at 9:38 pm

Dang girl. Sounds like you were in a hurry! One flight, the manfriend and I literally pulled off our flip flops and sprinted through the airport only to get to the next gate and realize they had already closed the doors and we had to spend the night in SLC. Happy travels home!

I went shopping this morning, but didn’t end up buying anything, which is actually a major accomplishment. So many tempting things, but the crowds kind of steer me away from buying.

  10. Nicole @ Geek Turned Athlete on November 26, 2010 at 9:57 pm

Oh hell no! I DO NOT shop on Black Friday. Honestly, the years of getting to Macys at 4am just to get the free stuffed penguin being given out to the first 200 costumers with my mom has tainted me for sure! I can’t deal with the crowds anymore! I’m impressed that you handled your own in the shopping today!

Instead, the hubs and I went for a run in the snow, took a nap, and hung out with the ‘rents downtown. It was perfect. 😉

  13. Runeatrepeat on November 26, 2010 at 10:15 pm

I don’t know how many times I’ve brought tuna on a plane. I always feel really bad, but it’s my favorite traveling option!

  14. Mara @ What's For Dinner? on November 26, 2010 at 10:47 pm

I shopped my little tail off today!!! Great gifts for others and myself!!! Glad you made it back safely 🙂

spent the day chillin and eating leftovers…which makes me feel that i need to start doing my “normal” stuff again. i did manage it squeeze in a mini jogging session while my niece rode her bike. it was peerty fun! i love that you mentioned post t-day it’s impt to eat protein oats! thanks for the reminder. glad you had a fun week!! it’s been so fun hanging out with the fam but can’t wait to go to my yoga studio and eating my normal food! 🙂

I spent my Black Friday away from stores! For the most part anyway..I did find a new pair of running shoes on sale 😀
    Glad you had safe travels!

I’ve never done the Black Friday shopping thing. It looks scary! I live about three hours from the nearest mall so when I get the shopping itch it’s usually online.

I liked your tuna story. My friend and I once brought boiled eggs on a flight home from Mexico and we could hear people asking, “What’s that smell?” three rows up. 🙂

  18. Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine on November 27, 2010 at 7:27 am

I have been Black Friday shopping in the past, but not recently…and never super early in the AM!! I just love to go to see all the holiday decorations 🙂 Glad you had a safe trip home!!

  19. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on November 27, 2010 at 9:17 am

Am I the only one who finds that skeleton art kind of creepy? Haha! 😛

Hope you had a safe flight home!

Hi!! I am a new reader and I absolutely love reading your posts! You are inspirational, motivational, and very entertaining! Love it! 🙂 You seem like a beautiful person inside and out!

For my Black Friday, I attempted shopping but didn’t find anything worth waiting in a crazy line for. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to go shopping again another day :p
