Something to talk about: What are some of the movies you haven’t seen that *everyone* else has? We were scrolling through trying to find a movie for last night and the Pilot stopped on “Back to the Future” and sighed because it’s one of the many movies I haven’t seen that apparently I’m supposed to. Also on the list: Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Princess Bride used to be on there, but I recently saw it for the first time – absolutely loved it.

Sounds like a wonderful, relaxing evening.

LOVE Stara Wars, Indiana Jones & The Princess Bride. INCONCEIVABLE. lol

    Mexican Wedding cookies?
Ah there are so many movies I have not seen which it seems like the whole world has- I haven’t seen Back to the Future, any of the Godfather movies and I think I’ve only seen one or two of the Star Wars films…what can I say, I’m not a huge sci-fi fan

  3. Mindy on November 6, 2011 at 1:15 pm

I haven’t seen any of those on your list (Princess Bride, included). I also get flack because I haven’t seen either of The Hangover movies.

  4. Haley @ Fit, Young, and Fabulous on November 6, 2011 at 1:17 pm

I really want to see the new Footloose! Everyone is talking about it! I just tried hot sauce for the first time yesterday on an omelette, and now I’m ADDICTED!!! I don’t know why I had never tried it before. Mmmmm!(:

  5. Holly @ The Runny Egg on November 6, 2011 at 1:22 pm

Jason LOVES Star Wars so obviously I have seen them all with him (I saw them when I was younger too but I had forgot most of it) and Indiana Jones is really good (I think at least!)

  6. China on November 6, 2011 at 1:31 pm

I haven’t seen Back to the Future, either! Drives my hubby crazy. 🙂

  7. Hillary on November 6, 2011 at 1:34 pm

I haven’t seen a lot of the “newer” Disney movies: Hercules, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan, etc. I’ve seen all the old ones, though!

  8. Sara on November 6, 2011 at 1:40 pm

    Hey Gina,

Looks beautiful there! it looks like you are dressed for cooler weather in your pics lately! I’m traveling to Scottsdale (not exactly close to you i know..) this week on business and had planned sleeveless dresses for day and shorts..l will I be cold? I’m in NJ and in full on jacket mode so I was hoping for some warm days! Thanks!!

    • jrm on November 6, 2011 at 2:36 pm

Hi I live in Phoenix and was just trying to figure out temps for the week to figure out what to wear to work. . Should be 45-50 at night and 65_70 during the day. Best recc is to bring lots of light layers. Mornings are cool but not really cold, by 10 am until 5 pm’ish (when the sun is out) you should be fine with a short sleeve dress. Shorts should be fine if you are moving around. Sun sets about 6’ish. For dinner you’ll probably want to wear jeans or light pants with a short sleeve shirt or dresses with a light jacket or light cardigan. Depending on how late you’ll be out at night, may want to carry a light jacket. Won’t need tights. Not sure how much day time freedom you will have. From about Noon to 3’ish it is warm enough to sit by the pool. Granted not hot/sweaty roasting but enough to relax outside. Hope that makes sense — basically warmer when the sun is up, cooler after it goes down. Should be pretty clear and sunny this week.

      • Sara on November 6, 2011 at 4:13 pm

Thanks so much for the info! I’ll be in town for a conference and it looks like my only “free” pool time will be before 1pm! 🙁 Oh well. I’m excited to enjoy the sights of the surrounding area! I’m definitely going to throw in a few light layers, as I wasn’t planning on it. Thanks again.

    • Fitnessista on November 7, 2011 at 12:39 am

it’s not “full jacket mode” but definitely light jacket or a hoodie weather. it’s been pretty cool at night and in the morning, but during the day it’s lovely (long sleeve or short sleeve and jeans)
have fun in scottsdale! hit up fashion square mall and true food 🙂

  9. G.G.R on November 6, 2011 at 1:41 pm

    I haven’t seen E.T or Avatar!

  10. Allison on November 6, 2011 at 2:04 pm

i only watched Back to the Future for the first real time this year actually. Also, no starwars or indiana jones for. theres A LOT of older movies i have never seen. haha

  11. Kristen @ Chocolate Covered Kristen on November 6, 2011 at 2:05 pm

I have never seen The Goonies! People look at me like I have three eyeballs when I say that. Sorry, I was too busy watching Disney Princess movies in my dress-ups and a tiara 😉

BTW – You are such a cute preggy lady! All belly 🙂

    • Fitnessista on November 7, 2011 at 12:37 am

i haven’t seen the goonies, either!
      thank you, lovely <3

  12. Emily on November 6, 2011 at 2:14 pm

    Have fun today!
I haven’t seen Star Wars either, my boyfriend jokes that he won’t marry me until I watch them all.

  13. Tee @ She Writes, Bites, and Window Shops on November 6, 2011 at 2:31 pm

My boyfriend hadn’t seen any of the Star Wars movies and I recently made him watch all 3! I haven’t seen the Godfather movies, which he can’t believe. I’ve only seen bits and pieces of each one, none all the way through.

  14. Brittney on November 6, 2011 at 3:08 pm

I don’t think I’ve seen any of the movies people talk about! People always referred to Zoolander during high school and I just never understood. I haven’t seen any of the movies on your “supposed to see” list either. Maybe someday I’ll catch up!

  15. Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga on November 6, 2011 at 3:09 pm

I haven’t seen a movie in a theater since I was pregnant! After becoming a mom, my free time has gone to my blog, my google reader and my friends’ blogs, or to my DVR and reality-based tv 🙂 I don’t see movies anymore. Crazy but true.

I love love the pic of you in your pink shirt with your friend and The Pilot. You look awesome and 3.5 miles at 30+ weeks…you’re a rock star!

  16. Suzi @ Confessions of a Fitness Instructor on November 6, 2011 at 3:32 pm

You’ve never seen Indiana Jones? I didn’t know that it was even possible to make it to your age without seeing them. When my niece was 3 and my nephew was 5 Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was their fav movie! lol.

I haven’t seen ET or Gone With the Wind – or Schindler’s List either for that matter. The first two are on my list of things to do before my 30th birthday (which is next month) and oddly I bought ET last night so I might watch it today!

Have a wonderful baby shower 🙂

    • Fitnessista on November 7, 2011 at 12:35 am

gone with the wind is a MUST 🙂

  17. Annette @ with a side of brownies on November 6, 2011 at 3:36 pm

I hav’nt seen most of the Indiana Jones movies. When I was first dating my husband he took me to see the first Star Wars prequel and when one of his friends heard I had never seen one of the microwave before, he called me a loser :/ I have three sons now, so I’ve seen all six and many other spaceship related things 🙂

  18. Jill on November 6, 2011 at 3:51 pm

I haven’t seen the Sixth Sense, Dumb and Dumber, or any Terminator movies… lots of those types of “gotta see” movies. When people talk about them I just pretend I saw them or don’t say anything lol and no one really notices.

  19. JEssica on November 6, 2011 at 4:03 pm

I’ve never seen any of the Star Wars movies. I just don’t get the hype. It just seems really nerdy to me, haha. Back to the Future is an 80s classic, you should definitely check it out.

  20. Julie on November 6, 2011 at 4:32 pm

LOL Gina my husband gives me the *sigh* too when it comes to back to the future- He is also seriously disappointed in me that I haven’t seen The Karate Kid….

  21. Pam C on November 6, 2011 at 4:36 pm

You look adorable in hot pink! and honestly I sigh at you too on that one! haha I hate when that happens to me and I finally watch the movie and the effects are too outdated and the movie as been so hyped up that I can’t appreciate it enough 🙁 My biggest is Scarface or The Godfather…. I’m Italian so it’s practically required that I watch them and people are always shocked when I say no.

  22. Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat on November 6, 2011 at 4:37 pm

I think I may have seen all of about 20 mins from a Star Wars movie, and that was enough to put me to sleep! A couple others that it seems EVERYONE but me has seen are Fight Club, The Godfather, and (I’m almost ashamed to say it) Footloose!

  23. Stephanie @cookinfanatic on November 6, 2011 at 4:43 pm

Too funny, my friends always give me a hard time because I haven’t seen so many “everyone’s seem them” movies too! ET is another on my list…

  24. Lindsay @ Lindsay's List on November 6, 2011 at 4:51 pm

Star Wars is a MUST! Henry, my three year old, can quote alot of it! Just shows how big of geeks his parents are…poor kid.

  25. Suzanne on November 6, 2011 at 5:05 pm

How funny! I made a Day of the Dead mask for Halloween. (Just emailed you a pic). Can’t wait to see what you have planned with the face paint.

The Princess Bride is one of my all time fave movies. “My name is Diego Mantoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.” I used to say this all the time to the annoyance of my friends and family. 😉

I still have never watched A Clockwork Orange or Spinal Tap….two movies that people talk about endlessly. Have you?

And I just watched the second half of East of Eden (with James Dean) because it was on TV last night. I’ve always meant to watch a James Dean movie. That was my first. His voice doesn’t match his looks – kind of high and nasal-y. lol. Like David Beckham.

  26. Tara @ Sweat like a Pig on November 6, 2011 at 6:04 pm

My husband had the same reaction when I told him I hadn’t seen Back to the Future. So of course he made me watch it, but I hated it. So he made me watch it again but, nope, still hate it!

I saw Star Wars when I was quite young, so I can’t remember anything about it and I have absolutely no desire to see any of the films again! My biggest claim to fame is that I haven’t seen a single James Bond film. Again, zero desire whatsoever!

    • Fitnessista on November 7, 2011 at 12:34 am

i haven’t seen any james bond movies, either!

  27. Molly on November 6, 2011 at 6:38 pm

I haven’t seen “It’s a Wonderful Life” or “The Sound of Music”, or the real “Wizard of Oz”. (I once saw a cartoon version, but not the original). I know, I know. It’s shameful.

  28. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on November 6, 2011 at 6:47 pm

I haven’t seen Back to the Future either! And people are always shocked when I tell them I haven’t seen Dodgeball or Anchorman. 😛

  29. Emily on November 6, 2011 at 7:01 pm

I thought I was the only human alive who hadn’t yet seen Star Wars or Back to the Future! We losers gotta stick together 😉 And I’ve never watched The Princess Bride all the way through, but I’ve memorized every line anyway – my sisters used to watch it over and over again, so I’ve seen bits and pieces. Honestly, though, there are SO many movies I haven’t seen that I really should.
I’m so jealous that you guys have hiking weather!! It rained all day yesterday and today in “sunny” California… oh well. You look beautiful, btw 🙂

    • Fitnessista on November 7, 2011 at 12:34 am

so glad i’m not the only one!
      thank you, friend <3

  30. Ali on November 6, 2011 at 7:10 pm

Haha, I LOVE late night baking! I wish that there were more reasons in life to do it. I am glad you are having such a good time with your friend! I would have to say that everyone MUST see Waynes World. It is SO SO funny.

  31. Keri @ Mrs.RAWnk on November 6, 2011 at 7:28 pm

I still haven’t seen Bridesmaids yet! I need to rent it!

  32. Keri @ Mrs.RAWnk on November 6, 2011 at 7:29 pm

oh and I have never seen The Matrix… and apparently “everyone” has seen The Matrix lol

  33. Tracy on November 6, 2011 at 8:08 pm

I haven’t seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies. For someone from NZ this is a HUGE deal. I’ve been told I can’t even call myself a true kiwi lol.

  34. Mallory Padron on November 6, 2011 at 8:19 pm

I always get the stink eye when I reveal that I haven’t seen Kindergarten Cop or Karate Kid.

  35. Heather @ For the Love of Kale on November 6, 2011 at 8:32 pm

I’m right there with you, Gina! I’m notorious for not seeing any of “the classics.” Let’s see…I haven’t seen “There’s Something About Mary,” “A Christmas Story” (I know, I know!), “American Pie,” or “The Godfather.” The list goes on. 😉

    • Fitnessista on November 7, 2011 at 12:32 am

      glad i’m not alone 🙂

  36. Courtney @ The Petite AthlEAT on November 6, 2011 at 9:09 pm

Hahaha! I thought I was bad in the Movies-I-Haven’t-Seen department! My husband makes sure to DVR any movie he has deemed a MUST SEE, and force me to sit down and watch it. 🙂 But Back to the Future?! REALLY?!

  37. Jen Correa @ Mom's Gotta Run on November 6, 2011 at 9:20 pm

Princess Bride- best movie ever (after Dirty Dancing of course)

  38. stephanie on November 6, 2011 at 9:54 pm

    Titanic. I cant do it.

  39. Laura on November 6, 2011 at 9:58 pm

I get so much crap for this… I’ve never seen Wizard of Oz, Grease, Sound of Music. or Dirty Dancing. Or Footloose. I’m slowly working these into my Netflix queue.

    • Fitnessista on November 7, 2011 at 12:30 am

wow. i have to say that your life will be changed by watching all of those <3

  40. Joy on November 7, 2011 at 5:49 am

Princess bride, lord of the rings, star wars, Austin powers…
I’m not really a movie person

  41. Jessica @ Sushi and Sit-Ups on November 7, 2011 at 6:32 am

The Goonies! I’ve just never gotten around to watching it but everyone seems to always reference it!

  42. jacki on November 7, 2011 at 7:14 am

Funny. Princess Bride is my daughter’s go to movie when she is sick. I’ve watched it more times than I can say. At 21, the last time she was sick, she had her boyfriend stand in for me to watch it with her…can’t say I was totally upset to miss the movie, just about being replaced!

  43. Daniella on November 7, 2011 at 9:57 am

  44. Natalie on November 7, 2011 at 12:27 pm

Don’t worry I have also never seen a Star Wars or Indiana Jones movie and everyone thinks I’m crazy. I also hadn’t seen Dumb & Dumber until last year and everytime my husband mentions a movie it seems like I haven’t seen it and am “un-American” it.

  45. TeriLyn [a foodie stays fit] on November 7, 2011 at 10:32 pm

    you look absolutely beautiful Gina!

when one of my friends learned that I’ve never seen Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and a few others, she made it her mission to get me to watch them. And I fall asleep every time I try to watch a “classic.” 🙂

  46. Casey M on November 11, 2011 at 1:08 am

Okay I’m sooo not sure what Incredible Edibles are but they look yummy, can you help a sista out 🙂 ??
