New addition to the yoga family

Hellooooo 😀 Happy Monday! Hope your morning is going well <3

Yesterday ended up being extremely bueno.

I snacked on some of the raw onion bread from Michelle and Lori, topped with some curry goat cheese (!) that they picked up for me at their farmer’s market.

It was nothing short of foodgasmic:

bread

Curry goat cheese?! This sandwich will now be known as the Gina special 😀

PS I’m officially hooked on that raw onion flatbread. Expect to see LOTS of it very soon… it may be my new raw food obsession 😉

After I stopped moaning in pleasure at my sandwich, I got ready and met the girls at a Winter festival thing they had here. It was at the convention center and had a lot of cute Christmas decorations and gifts from local businesses and merchants. It was a lot of fun just to have SOMETHING to do in Valdosta!

After that fun, Jeni and I went to Pier 1 to buy stuff I don’t really need look around.

I found a new addition to the yoga family:

buddha

(Note: I do not have sideburns. My hair was in front of my ear. Haha)

A Buddha head!!

buddha2

When we saw it at Pier 1, I told Jeni, “I LIKE her. She would look so great in the yoga room”. Jeni responded,"I think you mean he”. Oops 😉

I’m going to look into purchasing more goodies for the yoga room and will have to find another spot for them when we have guests over, because they don’t match anything in our casa.

I also got this:

tinydancer (2)

We need more ornaments like we need a hole in the head, but I couldn’t resist. She’s beautiful 😀

Dinner kind of EPIC.

myplate

A Sunday night grilled meal!! Asparagus, eggplant, zucchini, cauliflower, squash, a lobster tail (marinated in Earth Balance, gahhhhlic, lemon juice, paprika and hot sauce), and half a sweet potato that the pilot and I split.

The pilot also had a mahi fillet (seasoned with lime juice and zest, chili powder, sea salt and pepper) and brown sugar on his sweet tater.

pilotsplate

With Earth Balance, hot sauce and garlic for dipping:

buttah

Nothing like a good Sunday meal 😀

din

For dessert, I picked up this 10 layer red velvet cake for the pilot at the festival:

cek

He was a happy kid 😀

I didn’t end up going to the gym yesterday because I realized I didn’t take a day off at all last week. It’s hard because I really and truly love working out, but sometimes I have to remind myself (and sometimes force myself) to take at least one day of active recovery each week.. so yesterday was my day 😀

The plan for today:

-walk the puppies

-weights and lunch with Jeni

-training appointment

-meeting

-teaching Zumba

Have a wonderful day!

xoxo,

G

Something to do: Meet me back here later for a fun Reader’s Request post! 😀

I love that you guys ate lobster for dinner. We do it too, then look at each other and think ‘what 20 year old newleyweds eat lobster?’

Your dinner looks better than any lobster dinner I have ever gotten at a restaurant! You two make a talented duo 🙂

    • Fitnessista on November 23, 2009 at 9:39 am

why thank you 😀 it’s so much less expensive to make it at home, too

  7. Paige (Running Around Normal) on November 23, 2009 at 9:08 am

  10. GirlonRaw on November 23, 2009 at 9:22 am

You think there is nothing to do in Valdosta…hmmm I reckon it’s a hell of a lot more active than my part of the world! I thank goodness get to escape once in a while to the real world with work, but hey, there someone always worse off right?

Cute Buddha…rolling about that comment that is was a girl haha.

    🙂

    • Fitnessista on November 23, 2009 at 10:08 am

That’s why I love a semi-veg lifestyle I can still eat and enjoy seafood. I LOVE LOBSTER!

  18. Katy @ These Beautiful Feet on November 23, 2009 at 12:10 pm

    Um, hello good eats?

Ha that Buddha he/she she/he is a great addition to your yoga room. You can focus on him while doing the chair pose. Just don’t keep him too close you may want to knock him out since that pose huuurts! 😉

Mmm wow that dinner is more then kinda epic!! I like savory sweet potatoes more then ones with sugar but still..major nomnomnom-envy going on!

  19. Heather McD (Heather Eats Almond Butter) on November 23, 2009 at 12:16 pm

Way to listen to your body and take a day off Gina. I struggle with that myself.

Oh my gosh, I thought your grilled dinner was out at a restaurant because it looked so beautiful and amazing. YUM!!!! Looked delicious.

Love raw onion bread. Used to dehydrate my own in the oven, but it took 24 hours, and it smelled like an onion bomb went off in our house. I would mix in Kalamata olives, basil, and sun dried tomatoes. Gosh, I really need to make that again!

  20. Kristin (Kristin's Nibbles) on November 23, 2009 at 12:36 pm

WOW that onion bread + curry goat cheese sound to die for!

Can you believe I have NEVER had lobster? Aside from in seafood salad (blech) but I was like 10. lol

  22. Lauren on November 23, 2009 at 12:49 pm

Oh WOW-that dinner looks amazing! I absolutely love lobster, but only get it once in a while at restaurants. I love how you are decorating your yoga room. Very fun!

  23. Katie on November 23, 2009 at 1:42 pm

Your sideburn! Ha ha ha I love it!

And your grilled dinner looks DELISH!

  24. katie on November 23, 2009 at 1:45 pm

    Love your new Buddha!

We have an ornament that’s almost exactly the same (only she’s dressed like a sugar plum fairy) and it’s about 20 years old. Love it!

  25. Melissa S. on November 23, 2009 at 2:51 pm

what a wonderful addition “he” will make to your yoga family. 🙂

  26. Amanda@thegrainsofparadise on November 23, 2009 at 3:43 pm

I love me some lobstaaaah. You can throw some my way too =]

    I love the Buddah head.

  29. Jackie (Army Wife) on November 23, 2009 at 6:01 pm

I work at P1 and we’ve been selling quite a few of those Buddha heads (although we don’t have that particular ornament so it must just be in your region). I need to figure out how to make a velvet cake mmmm.

  30. TorontoGirloutWest on November 23, 2009 at 8:35 pm

    Mmmmm the bloster!!!!

I had my birthday on the 15th and we had lobster for dinner then. Super yummy eats! 🙂

  31. Susan on November 24, 2009 at 3:21 pm

Can you post how you cooked the lobster and the sweet potato? The sp looks baked, but I’ve never made one and that looked delicious. Also, I have never made lobster either and never contemplated it, but that looked yummy! Do you have a specific recipe for it?

    • Fitnessista on November 24, 2009 at 9:38 pm

      hey susan,
as far as the recipe goes, i kinda wing it and everything we just threw on the grill. the pilot is the grill master, so when he gets home i’ll ask how much time for everything 😀

  32. jr on May 27, 2015 at 8:38 pm

Hi love your blog. Crazy request – I just accidentally broke my bff’s buddha head just like this one. It is no longer sold at Pier 1 and she is so hurt. Can I buy yours? I am happy to give you above market value – her birthday is next week and I would like to give it to her. Will you be my hero please? Thank you either way!
