On the horizon

Hi guys! Hope you’re enjoying the morning <3 I’m pretty excited to be writing this post with real internet, as ours mysteriously stopped working and I’ve been depending on my iPhone as a hot spot for the past couple of days. It’s the little things, right?

Thank you so much to those of you who took the time to complete the blog survey a couple of weeks ago. I really appreciate your feedback and take your suggestions to heart; I’ve been enjoying reading through the data and am so thankful for your time and help!

Congratulations to the winner of the $100 Visa gift card:

Kristin, who said, “Took the survey! This recipe looks yummy! Can’t wait for fall :)”

[The winner has been emailed. Thank you again to those who participated and stay tuned for more giveaways coming up!]

On the horizon:

Fall weather. Maybe? My guess is that it’s pretty mild here year round, but we’ve been enjoying lots of sunshine.

Hopefully an official Bodypump certification. After ThumbHack2014 I had to get an extension and finally got my video filmed. It was a huge sigh of relief to get that out of the way! I’m really excited to learn a new release, too, since I’ve been practicing the same one for months now.

After class yesterday, we played outside and headed to Liv’s yoga class. If you’re local, I highly recommend If I Was a Bird yoga studio. My friend Betsy recommended it to us, and they have two locations. The teachers are wonderful, and each week they have a different theme. They also include a craft and a snack with each class; yesterday the theme was Hawaii and the girls made beautiful paper flower crowns. (Bonus: the classes correspond with Core Power Yoga and Barry’s Bootcamp classes, so if your child is potty-trained, they can take yoga while you go to class. I haven’t done this yet, but it’s a cool option if you want to get in your own workout while your kiddo gets a beautiful yoga practice.)

More trips to the little Italy farmers market. It was our first time this weekend we were blown away!! So many incredible vendors.

Paddleboarding adventures.

(Cool shorts tan brah.)

Two new eBooks.  I’m often asked about blog tips and suggestions for increasing blog readership + my favorite tools. I put everything together into one spot and should have it uploaded (under the “Work out with me” tab) tonight. I also wrote a freeeeee 30-day healthy eats and fitness plan so stay tuned for details on how to get a copy!

Bella’s craziness. It knows no bounds 😉

Photo 2 9

This is totally random, but Bell has taken her begging to an entirely new level. She will eat ANYTHING now, even though she has access to food and water 24/7. If you leave any food out, she will find it and eat it. She had the rest of Liv’s peanut butter sandwich yesterday that we had left on the table before naptime. It reminded me of the time we went to upstairs to put Liv to bed (in our Tucson house) and came downstairs to find Bella slurping the last of the chicken coconut curry out of a bowl. She knows the good stuff.

Caro has officially crossed over to cuddlebug status:

Today is back on the running bandwagon! Tackling 4 miles before the day’s adventures.

Hope you have an amazing day <3

xoxo

Something to do:  Today’s squat challenge! Don’t forget to check in on the workout page after completing it 🙂

That’s so cool about the kids yoga classes! Good luck with your Body Pump certification. I remember being really nervous about my RPM video, but it all ended up going just fine and I’m sure yours will too. Saw your IG clip and you’ve got great form! 🙂

My dog sits next to our dishwasher at dinner time and waits for the dishes to be loaded once we are done. She hops up on the dishwasher and starts licking all our plates! She’s too cute to get mad at =)

    And the dogs….Caro is adorable!!

Good luck with the certification. I had to get an extension for mine as well now that I have a stress fracture in my foot AGAIN. Ugh!!! Can’t wait for your ebooks!

I’m looking forward to hearing more about your e-book, that’s a great way to share more knowledge. You need to try Barry’s Bootcamp, I gave it a shot recently and loved it. Happy BODYPUMPING! It’s time for me to start learning the new releases for our launch in San Francisco in two weeks.

I’ve seen a number of bloggers go paddleboarding recently. I haven’t been since last summer and its not fall! Looks like a lot of fun and I want to do yoga poses on there.

Have you been to extraordinary desserts in little Italy yet? You need to make it a priority, their cakes are what dreams are made of!!!

I love paddleboarding! I'm supposed to be trying a yoga paddleboarding class today but we have big storms in our forecast this afternoon. I'm so bummed. 🙁

Caro and Bella are so darn cute. My husband and I got a miniature schnauzer last December even though we knew he suffered from allergies. Sadly had to give her back to the breeders because his allergies were SO much worse than we expected (think swollen eyes, runny nose, the works). I miss her every day!

On a more positive note, I can’t wait to check out your ebook!

  13. Alexa on September 9, 2014 at 11:16 am

omg i cant wait for that free ebook!! thank you so much in advance!

  14. Alysia @ Slim Sanity on September 9, 2014 at 11:18 am

To celebrate the squat challenge tomorrow night when I teach a Yoga Sculpt class I’ll be doing a 3-minute squat to “All About the Bass”. Loads of squat pulses, lunge lifts, and regular squats. I’m thinking of putting it towards the end of class so folks aren’t too terrified/mad for the rest of it. lol!

  18. Jen on September 9, 2014 at 12:45 pm

I love that you have so many fun things on your horizon. Honestly, though, I was hoping this post would end with a ultrasound. 😉

  19. Diana on September 9, 2014 at 12:51 pm

I’ve been dying to try bodypump, but can’t seem to find a class near me.

    Have a great run today!

  20. Sarah on September 9, 2014 at 4:57 pm

Our dog once climbed up on the dining room table, opened the box, and ate part of the birthday cake while everyone was in the other room opening gifts. Have to admire the guts to do that 😉

  21. Yaara Leve on September 9, 2014 at 5:24 pm

Dayum girl! You are getting sh*t done! Seriously! I wish I had your stamina and drive. I love how you set goals for yourself and actually accomplish them. You look so cute on that paddle board 🙂 I’m rocking the shorts tan too- Always happens to me in the summer– 🙂 Hope the 4-miler went well!
    XOXO

  22. Jessica Valant on September 9, 2014 at 5:46 pm

Ok this is super random, but I had a crazy beggar dog named Sadie (a big yellow lab). I came home once to the kitchen sink turned on, the coffee pot knocked over in the sink, the oven open, and boxes of cereal knocked off the fridge (and she was 80lbs!). I talked to the vet and he said she was eating way too fast (which she always did) and her body never registered she was full. She literally thought she was always hungry (even though she got plenty of food). So we started putting her food out on a cookie sheet that had large river rocks on it. She had to nose around the large rocks to find her food and eat it much more slowly. It worked miracles for her! Seriously, so random I know, but maybe it can help someone else with a crazy lovable dog 🙂 Hope you had a great run!

Question: How far away do you travel to go to farmer’s markets, etc.?

    • Fitnessista on September 10, 2014 at 10:25 am

it depends: a walk down the street or a 5 minute drive on the freeway depending on where i’m going

  27. lindsey on September 12, 2014 at 10:43 pm

FREEEEEE meal plan AND fitness plan!? I feel like you should set up a go fund page (or whatever that is…) because, while totally appreciated and will definitely be downloading that, I am sure that’s a huge job to create that material!

    • Fitnessista on September 13, 2014 at 12:39 am

it took some time, but i had a lot of fun putting it together for you guys 🙂

  28. Shelly on September 13, 2014 at 4:35 am

Your paddleboarding photo looks like you are having so much fun (and in serious shape!) makes me want to try it!

Is it wrong to add The Pilot (Tom) looks so gorgeous in the photo with Caro 😉 You have a seriously cute husband.

    • Fitnessista on September 15, 2014 at 11:28 pm

PS I’ve just returned from a 2 week holiday and am so glad you revamped your blog to make it easier to click to the “next page” and read through a few weeks of posts more easily. Good stuff 🙂
