Party of 2.5

Hi friends! How’s your day going? HOLY roon giveaway entries!! I’ve loved reading all of your comments and feedback- you’re all amazing. I need to do more random giveaways fo sho 🙂

Work today was a lot of fun. I was only scheduled for a half day (a nice break), and got to teach the lunchtime employee class. I can confidently say I killed them. And myself. Lots of pulsing lunges, squats, ball squeezes and bar work. It will hurt to walk tomorrow.

Lunch:

lunch

Flat egg (one egg + two egg whites) with mustard nutritional yeast (sounds nast, tastes great, I promise), leftover quinoa salad with greens and more goat cheese. You can never have enough goat cheese 😉

Bella even got TWO walks today!

One before work and one with the Pilot. They were each only about 15 minutes long, but long enough for her to keep for sanity for the day so I’ll call that a win 😉

For dinner, the Pilot and I decided to go on a little date. I haven’t been grocery shopping yet, he’s had an insane work schedule, and it was nice to have dinner and enjoy each other’s company. It was a nice change from him watching TV and me on the computer, which happens more often than I’d like to around here.

Black bean soup + shrimp salad

soup 3

Good stuff 😀

We’re going to call it an early night over here, but I’ll see ya bright and early with a macaroon winner + 10 Ways to Make September Stellar 🙂

xoxo

Gina

Something to do: Check out music podcasts for free, constant workout music. For today’s class, I downloaded the DJ David S Podcast 1 hour mix and it was AWESOME. Lot’s of top 40s stuff, mash-ups and keeps a constant beat. Perfect for group fitness or a solo workout.

Something to talk about: What was your last date like? Disaster or success? I’d call tonight’s dinner date a success… I kind of like him.

My last date was watching Crazy, Stupid, Love at the theater. It was AMAZING and the Hubs even cried a little 😉

I love hanging with him too 🙂

haha last date was disaster! we went to Vegas for the weekend, and really only ate out for a “real” nice dinner one nigh of the three, and the food was terrible!! Tasted like they dumped half a bottle of salt into our meals, they ended up comping us half cause we could not eat it. We both felt sick after 🙁 but we looked good! haha

    • Fitnessista on September 1, 2011 at 12:10 am

ahhh – i love the poppin’ belly in the pic of you walking Bella! Too adorable! You’ll have to do another update soon for the Family page with belly progress. There’s certainly no mistaking the baby in there now! : )

Dates are especially harder to arrange now that we have a little 8-month old but for our last date we went to a lovely Italian restaurant in NYC called Maialino. Great food. Great ambiance. Great conversation. A perfect evening!

  6. Ali @ urbanfruitbat on September 1, 2011 at 12:20 am

haha, you really love your eggs and nooch! I can understand, I used to be obsessed with egg salad sandwiches. I am happy your date was a success. My last date was too, I kinda like My Love as well. 🙂 Yay love!

  8. Sara on September 1, 2011 at 12:38 am

My last date (i.e. just the two of us) was to a film festival movie. The actors were there! We felt so glam. Because my mums husband is stationed in East Timor at the moment, we usually take her with us when we go somewhere. He gets back soon, so I’ll have to schedule a few one on one’s with my man.

  9. Louise Therese on September 1, 2011 at 12:40 am

Ahhh that photo of you and Bella + Baby bump is the cutest thing I’ve seen all day!!!! And your lunch makes me want to dive into some goats cheese … but to my shame I polished off an ENTIRE PACKET last night so there’s none in the fridge 🙁

  10. Kathryn @ Flopoodle on September 1, 2011 at 1:09 am

I think the last date I went on one-on-one with my bf was when we were on vacation over the July 4th weekend! Yikes…might be time for a little romantic sojourn 😉

  11. mi-an dela cruz on September 1, 2011 at 1:39 am

my guy and i are always on dates… we are always together… studying together… working out together… hahah last date was we had lunch today at green cafe, asian vegan food. he’s vegetarian so it’s easy to feed him but he’s not really into the ‘healthnut’ kinda stuff. i was like no just have to try this place, it got a lot of good reviews. he ordered spicy lemongrass tofu — he goes “this is the best tofu dish.i’ve.ever.had.” 🙂 we ordered another entree of the same dish to go and had it for dinner. 🙂

  12. Emily on September 1, 2011 at 2:26 am

Just yesterday I was searching for more music podcasts! Thanks 🙂
Last date….can’t remember…. we’re both working allllll hours right now. we probably deserve one!

  13. Emma Angelic on September 1, 2011 at 2:54 am

Aww I love impromptu little dates. My boyfriend and I went on one last weekend – we did some shopping together then went for dinner. It was so simple and sweet yet I loved it!

  14. Aine @ Something to Chew Over on September 1, 2011 at 4:47 am

Hmm I haven’t been out in ages. We’re having dinner tonight though to celebrate my graduation!

  15. Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance on September 1, 2011 at 6:02 am

That’s awesome that your work has an employee fitness class! I wish Panera did that for me when I worked there 😉

  16. Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga on September 1, 2011 at 6:44 am

Date night? It was so long ago I have no idea. It’s been at least 4 years since Scott and I have been out alone. No family in town, vacations are with Skylar included, no help, no relatives…sooo, we stay home and pretend 🙂 Enjoy your date nights! And I hope you keep them up!

Nooch + mustard = two of my fave seasonings/flavors ever!

  17. Dana Marie on September 1, 2011 at 6:59 am

I went on a short coffee date a few weeks ago from match.com and it seemed like we both enjoyed each others company – he texted I really enjoyed meeting you and hope to see you soon…….cut to i invited him to a group bday dinner -him: not free but would like to see me when he gets back from his trip — and I never hear again……I dont want to be texting or getting in touch repeatedly when he already said that he did and then doesnt yano? anyway – I liked him and will just write it off as too busy – but I’m not holding my breath…..

Husband watching TV + me on my computer = our life. haha!

  19. Hillary on September 1, 2011 at 7:20 am

My boyfriend and I fall into that whole “sitting next to each other but not talking to one another” thing a lot, too, so I always love when we go out for dinner and actually sit and talk and enjoy each other’s company. Last weekend, we went to my favorite little kebab place and then I treated him to his first frozen custard. It was cute : )

  20. Holly @ The Runny Egg on September 1, 2011 at 7:47 am

Our last date — I made a nice dinner last weekend and I kind of pretended like it was a date — we had wine and made goo goo eyes at each other. It was fun!

    • Fitnessista on September 1, 2011 at 10:22 am

      that’s definitely a date 🙂

  21. Cait @ Cait hates Cake on September 1, 2011 at 7:59 am

Mustard nutritional yeast, eh? I’ll give it a shot. I’m pretty much game for anything nutritional yeast 😉

  22. Faith @ For the Health of It on September 1, 2011 at 8:01 am

LDR = looooong stretches between dates. You know the feeling 🙁 But our last one was a blast – we went to Dave and Busters and both of our football-obsessed selves wound up pumping countless tokens into the football toss machine. 23 going on 8, I swear!

  23. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on September 1, 2011 at 8:28 am

My last date was… far too long ago. But I guess that’s what happens when you’re single and back at home for the summer in a city where 75% of the population is over 50 years old. 😛 I’m glad you had a nice date night with the Pilot though!

  24. Ali @ peachesandfootball.wordpress.com on September 1, 2011 at 8:37 am

Ha – my last date was with my old-coworker and good friend Mel. We did lunch and saw ‘One Day’. We always joke and call each other the “hot date” when we’re telling our boyfriends that we’ll be gone. We’re weird like that 🙂

  25. Elena on September 1, 2011 at 8:48 am

Aww you look so pretty with bum on picture with Bella! Luv quinoa salad wit goat cheese as well but I add there always some sun dried tomatoes – they make it a fest!

  26. Blake on September 1, 2011 at 9:12 am

Our last date was awesome. We went to the Dali Museum in St. Pete, FL then went for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. It was lovely.

  27. char @ char on a mission on September 1, 2011 at 9:13 am

Your class sounded like it was amazing and yes, I want to be in one of your classes or yes, I’d love to be doing what you’re doing! You have some crazy food combos, but I totally trust that you saying it’s good means it’s good haha

  28. Sarah on September 1, 2011 at 9:23 am

Last date was a success! Went to the movies with my honey (although the movie, Conan, was beyond awful lol)

  29. Liz @ Tip Top Shape on September 1, 2011 at 9:45 am

I am embarrassed to admit my last date was over a year ago. And it is was pretty awful. He took me to this greasy spoon and only ordered french fries and nachos for us. He DID pay but seeing that I couldn’t eat half the food (beefy nachos on a Friday in Lent-awesome! Not.) still not a success. It also didn’t help how he told me that he had left his last college for “legal reasons”. Needless to say, he did not get a second date. lol

  30. Ali @ Around the VeggieTable on September 1, 2011 at 9:51 am

I feel like our whole life is one big date! Is that annoying? LOL The last time we went out just the two of us though was awesome–we went to a vegan restaurant for my bday and it was a blast. Now that I think about it though, I should plan a real date night for us this weekend 🙂

  31. Becky @ Fit Chick on the Fly on September 1, 2011 at 10:03 am

The BF and I are waaaaay overdue for a date night! No cell phones or gadgets aloud though. 🙂

  32. Alissa on September 1, 2011 at 10:07 am

I just stumbled upon your blog today, I really enjoyed it! I never heard of mustard nutritional yeast, but I’ll give it a try!

  33. Jacquelyn Wheeler on September 1, 2011 at 10:25 am

I love everything you do with quinoa! Can you write a foodie post about the different ways you prepare it?

  34. Amara@GirlinaWhirl on September 1, 2011 at 10:28 am

Hey I want to check out that workout music but I don’t see a link. Is it podrunner?

    • Fitnessista on September 1, 2011 at 10:33 am

search for the dj’s name in itunes and it should come up!

  35. Stephanie on September 1, 2011 at 10:35 am

I spend way too much time on the computer. I’m home all day, so you’d think I could do all my computerizing before J got home…but no. That would be reasonable. I’m seriously starting to think that I need one of those parental control things that will lock me out of my laptop in the evenings!

  36. Catherine C. on September 1, 2011 at 10:40 am

My last date was with my boyfriend so yeah… i kinda like him too 😉

  37. Kali on September 1, 2011 at 10:48 am

Totally random, but just wanted to say that I finally got to check out Violets of March from the library (there were SO MANY holds on it), and it was SUCH an AMAZING read. Couldn’t put it down. Thanks for the recommendation (quite a while ago). 🙂

    • Fitnessista on September 1, 2011 at 11:00 am

yeah! i’m so glad you liked it. i want to read it again 🙂

  38. Marguerite Miller on September 1, 2011 at 12:14 pm

My DH and I go out to eat often, all though it isn’t really a date! But a month or so ago, we planned a date night! We stopped for a quick dinner, then drove to a higher class theater to see the final Harry Potter movie! Nice large leather seats! And even had a bar and you could take your drinks right into the theater with you! It was neat to have an alcoholic butterbeer while watching the movie!

  39. Casey @ Pocket Full of Sunshine on September 1, 2011 at 12:28 pm

This is a great list! I’m definitely going to follow along and make September awesome. 🙂 And thanks for the playlist songs. I needed some new ones. Just wanted you to know…your blog makes me happy 🙂

  40. Krystina (Organically Me) on September 1, 2011 at 2:36 pm

The last official “date” my boyfriend and I went on was to Mitchell’s Fish Market. It was GLORIOUS – Asian shrimp appetizer, Chilean sea bass, and ice cream cake the size of my face. We go out multiple times a week, so technically we have mini ‘dates’ all the time, but sometimes we have special nights. 😀

  41. breakingsilence @ Freshman -15 on September 1, 2011 at 2:42 pm

My last date was during spring semester (I know, I know…). I went out to dinner with a guy in one of my classes. He seemed really nice…there was no “spark”, but I was willing to give it another chance. But did he ask me out again? Noooo.

  42. mama on September 1, 2011 at 3:29 pm

your bump looks so cute! I carried the exact same way with my first daughter, definitely easier on the body than being all out front!

  43. Haley @ Fit, Young, and Fabulous on September 1, 2011 at 8:06 pm

Your flat egg looks really yummy! I want to put it in between English Muffin halves with a little Laughing Cow Cheese (:

  44. Beth Tollis on September 1, 2011 at 9:20 pm

You are such an adorable pregnant lady! I am officially 10 weeks and hope to stay as fit as you are! I had a question for you, did your doctor tell you to keep your heart rate under 140? I am concerned that I won’t get any sort of good cardio if I do that…….. any thoughts?

    • Fitnessista on September 1, 2011 at 9:32 pm

nope he said to keep doing what i’ve been doing. definitely listen to your doc, though
