A SNAKE IN THE BATHROOM? *EEk* I hope not something poisonous. We don’t have snakes here, in fact, there is only one poisonous insect in NZ and it’s a fairly rare spider that only lives in tussock grass. Australia, however…

That bread looks fabulous! Did you make it? Also, what a beautiful outdoor meal. So nice!

    • Fitnessista on October 3, 2011 at 1:28 am

nope, it was from basha’s- so beautiful though!

  5. J3nn (Jenn's Menu and Lifestyle Blog) on October 3, 2011 at 2:24 am

All of your food looks delish. Love chicken with sweet potatoes!

Lol @ the snake sign. At least there was a warning, that would be a freakish surprise.

  6. Tameeka on October 3, 2011 at 3:26 am

OO lovely Pictures. I hope you enjoyed your weekend.. and tomorrow morning I will be making french toast with scrambled eggs… YUM 🙂

  7. Shannon on October 3, 2011 at 4:34 am

Looks like a good day 🙂 (except for the snake in the bathroom part)

  8. Cait @ Beyond Bananas on October 3, 2011 at 6:06 am

Seriously? A snake in the bathroom? I think that I would scream.. even without entering. Just seeing that sign would be enough!

  9. alison on October 3, 2011 at 6:36 am

Ack, that last one would send me in to a screaming panic. I hate snakes!
We lived in AZ for a couple of years and I somehow managed to avoid ever seeing one. Shudder.

  10. Erika - The Teenage Taste on October 3, 2011 at 6:44 am

Haha! A snake in the bathroom?! 😛

  11. Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga on October 3, 2011 at 6:56 am

A snake in the bathroom? Run, run, runnnnnnnn away fast! That’s what I would be doing!

    And that french toast looks…perfect!

  12. Dawn @ Blonde on a Mission on October 3, 2011 at 7:39 am

I love cooking my sweet potatoes like that! Baking them in foil makes them sooo soft and the skin just peels away. Everything looks absolutely awesome, especially the french toast! =)

  13. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on October 3, 2011 at 7:46 am

That’s awesome that you’re planting your own herb garden! Let us know how it goes because I haven’t had much luck with planting cilantro in the past. 😛

Ahh that’s so creepy about the snake! I would have been running in the other direction!

  14. Brooke @ Tales of A Bride-To-Be on October 3, 2011 at 7:58 am

That bathroom sign is sketchy, I would of made someone go check and try to get a picture lol. But all that food looks yummy.

  15. Ali @ Peaches and Football on October 3, 2011 at 8:07 am

That is too funny! I would have been terrified to walk into a bathroom with a snake in there!

Last month we went to a picnic and there was a snake in the sink. Just a small garden snake but he’d been kinda… torn apart. It was disgusting so we all kept watch and used the men’s room instead. Ick!

  16. Natasha on October 3, 2011 at 8:13 am

The best part about the snake sign is the drawing of a snake at the bottom of it….. just in case you cant read 🙂

    • Fitnessista on October 3, 2011 at 10:59 am

right?? we thought that was so funny 🙂

  17. Amber @ Chicken and Chocolate on October 3, 2011 at 8:32 am

LOL, a snake in the bathroom. I had an urge to see if there was a gap under the bottom of the door to see if he could get out! haha, I probably would have started doing a crazy hopping dance thinking it would come out and get me! lol

Your breakfast looked delicious!! I used to work at a bakery and I’d bring home fresh bakery bread to make french toast, especially the cinnamon raisin–Its so much better than store bought sliced bread!

  18. Sarah on October 3, 2011 at 8:42 am

oh my gd gina, ever since you wrote about your rattlesnake worries, i’ve been PARANOID that i am going to run into one on my evening walk or something. just how worried do i need to be? and WHAT ARE THE PREVENTATIVE MEASURES?! so scared.

(also, i found a lizard in my house yesterday. i am the most ocd clean person ever, yet somehow, this lil guy got into my house. i screamed kinda. whoops. thankgoodness for my manly man neighbors.)

  19. Athena @ fitnessandfeta on October 3, 2011 at 8:49 am

  20. Holly @ The Runny Egg on October 3, 2011 at 8:59 am

Thank God they left a note! That would have freaked me out for sure.

  21. Lauren @ Oatmeal after Spinning on October 3, 2011 at 9:03 am

A snake in the bathroom? I’m surprised someone didn’t write “that’s what she said” underneath!

I love your dinner tablescape! It looks so nice and cozy!!

  22. Gina @ Running to the Kitchen on October 3, 2011 at 9:21 am

The fact that you’re planting things right now while I’m emptying pots for the winter makes me totally jealous!
Could you imagine walking into that bathroom had the note not been there!? Holy FREAK OUT!

  23. Jen Correa @ Mom's Gotta Run on October 3, 2011 at 9:30 am

Your pictures make me hungry! 🙂

  24. Chelcie @ chelcie's food files on October 3, 2011 at 9:51 am

The pictures of that french toast look amazing! Ah I would have been terrified of the snake! Snakes are one of my biggest fears! How did you get the snake out?!

    • Fitnessista on October 3, 2011 at 10:55 am

  25. Joelle (On A Pink Typewriter) on October 3, 2011 at 10:00 am

  26. Ida on October 3, 2011 at 10:14 am

    Love the heart-shaped butter!

  27. Cat @Breakfast to Bed on October 3, 2011 at 10:21 am

I would scream like a little bitch and run for the hills. Dear Lord, make me a bird, so I can fly far, far, far away from here.

  28. KatieG. @ Just Roll With It on October 3, 2011 at 10:50 am

Looks like a fun feast! And a snake…yikes! Did anyone open to door to check it out?

    • Fitnessista on October 3, 2011 at 10:58 am

      no way- we ran!

  29. Kat on October 3, 2011 at 10:59 am

eeek a snake! A rat found its way into our kitchen recently. totally creepy. Even the dog avoided the kitchen for a week after that!

  30. Rhoni on October 3, 2011 at 11:00 am

I love the heart-shaped butter slab! And of course the warning sign on the women’s bathroom. How thoughtful of someone….haha.

  31. Krista on October 3, 2011 at 11:22 am

    Bella got her chicken!! 🙂

  32. Lisa@HealthyDiaries on October 3, 2011 at 11:48 am

Did you make the butter on your french toast heart-shaped on purpose? lol Either way it looks delicious! I wish I had more time to make yummy breakfasts during the week but I usually go to the gym before work and pack something to eat there.

oh, and that snack being in the bathroom is crazy! Good thing they left a note!
When I was in Italy last month, a tiny mouse ran over my bare feet while I was using the toilet! EEKK!!!

    • Fitnessista on October 3, 2011 at 12:01 pm

nope, it just happened that way! so cute
      and that sounds horrifying!!!

  33. Samantha on October 3, 2011 at 12:06 pm
