Santa and Veggies

Heyyyy Open-mouthed smile How are you?

This afternoon has been quite a blasty. I had a little date with my nana to see the Christmas Show at the Gaslight Theatre:

gaslight

Gaslight is a local thing- they have melodrama musicals every season and I’ve been going since I was little. (Side note: I scored an audition in high school.. and blew it, haha) It’s the kind of show where you “boo” and “hiss” for the bad guys, cheer for the good guys, all of the actors are crazy talented, some of the actors will improv during the musical, and you leave with a big goofy smile on your face.

One of my good friends is in the Gaslight shows and scored my nana and I some seats Smile (Olive juice, friend)

I traded came bearing vegan chocolate chip cookies for him:

Bonus: they serve buttery salty popcorn in addition to a full diner menu (shakes, burgers, pizza, fries, etc)

popcorn

In between the show and the olio show, they sing “Happy Birthday” to the birthday peeps, “Let me call you sweetheart” to the anniversary peeps, and acknowledge the out-of-town peeps and show up with ice cream at your table:

Nana and I shared it Open-mouthed smile

After the show, we stuck around to say hi and chat, went shopping for a 40s style costume (more on that later, haha) and grabbed some dinner.

We dined at Zivaz bistro– it’s like the Mexican version of Pei Wei.

Chips + Salsa

Calabacitas with no cheese

Salad with guacamole:

While attacking my food like a savage beast, a bloggy was so cute to come up and say hi Smile My nana and I had fun chatting with her and I’m hoping we’ll take a Zumba class tomorrow together.

Speaking of Zumba…. I’m off to booty-shake Open-mouthed smile

Have a great night and I’ll see ya in the morning!

xoxo,

Gina

Hi Gina! I hope you are having a great time with your family (it looks that way)! Anyway, I had a personal question for you and was wondering if I could email it to you? I’m not sure what the email is that I should send my question to.
    Thanks! :]

That’s so cool that a bloggy spotted you and you guys started chatting! I have actually had that happen twice in the past 2 weeks just running errands around town. They recognized me…pretty surreal moments, actually.

What a fun day with your nana! Love that food and the times w/ family..I know how much you miss them b/c you guys live far apart. Glad you’re savoring these special days!

I am from ttown, now living in phx, I’ll be there tomorrow for the holiday. I find it interesting to see how your spending your time there. I haven’t seen an Eeggees post yet. 🙂 I worked at the gaslight in college. I love that place. Enjoy your stay!

I love that you went to Gaslight! We moved to Tucson when I was 6 and I went to Gaslight regularly until I moved away. My husband and I visited at the beginning of October for the first time in 8 years and at the top of my list was a Gaslight show!

(My aunt’s husband and his son are both regulars and are in the show right now. They are hilarious! I’m sure they must know your friend. Small world!)

The Gaslight sounds so fun!! There was a theater I auditioned for in HS too and didn’t make it…but hey, that’s okay, since I never really got over my stage fright. I’m intrigued by the 40s costume thing- it’s my favorite era!!
