Shoe Snafu

A couple more Vegas purchases:

Headband

headband

and dress:

dress

both from Ann Taylor Loft.

They gave me a coupon for $25 off a $50 purchase when I bought the other dresses and sunglasses there, so I figured I’d use the coupon in Vegas since their selection is so much better. After the cashier put in the dress, headband and coupon, my total due was $10. I have no idea how it happened! But I liked it 🙂

Another purchase which I had no intention of buying:

shoes

Sandals from Banana Republic.

Those needed to happen because the universe punished me for not wearing heels on a date with my husband.

This is totally goofy but I’ll tell you anyway: the Pilot and I consult each other on outfit choices before we get dressed to go somewhere. Not to make sure we’re matchy-matchy or anything like that, but to make sure we’re the same level of dressed uppedness. For example, he wouldn’t wear shorts and a tee if I were wearing a dress and wedge shoes, he’d wear a button-up shirt.

Well, we were getting ready to go to dinner at Tao and he took out a button-up shirt to iron with black shoes and his Rock & Republic jeans.

I looked at him and said: Can we please be more casual tonight? My feet hurt and we have to walk so far. [I’d worn super high heels the night before  and walked all over the place like a champ]

It wasn’t a big deal to him, so I wore one of my more casual Ann Taylor dresses with the above silver sandals (one of my faves from Aldo). The bonus about Vegas is that it’s a total tourist trap and you can where pretty much whatever you want, wherever you go since there are so many types of attire everywhere.

Well, since I’m a giant klutz and almost ate cement 100 times during our short vacay, I tripped while we walked, caught myself before falling, and something felt wrong with my shoe. It was totally beyond repair and flapping around as I walked.

Thank goodness we were right by Caesar’s Palace when it happened, so we ran into the Forum Shops for a replacement pair from Banana Republic.

I kept joking with the Pilot that if I would have just dressed nicely and worn heels it wouldn’t have happened.. but I got a new pair of shoes out of it 😉

Have you ever had something break/rip/fall apart while you were wearing it?? What happened?

Bummer about your shoes. They were cute!

I used to love American Eagle jeans in high school except I would wear them out to the point where the thighs got holes in them. They ripped on me in public a few times! 😛

Glad you could get a replacement pair! The strap on one of my wedges broke last year at a happy hour for my grad school orientation. I was meeting tons of people for the first time and stumbling around like I was completely drunk. The bartender was really nice though and made an announcement asking if there was a cobbler in the house. 🙂 No cobbler, but we taped the strap to the wedge with duct tape and the night went on! 🙂 It’s a funny story now.

Oh yes—definitely had a shoe fall apart on me in the middle of a hectic day. More than once. But hey, I’m always happy for an excuse to get new shoes!

One time I was at a night club and my stiletto got stuck in the floor and yanked right off. My boyfriends friend took my other shoe and ripped off the heel so I could walk to the car. Poor shoes 🙁

    The headband is adorable btw.

I have had that happen with shoes before!! It is such a bummer, but so funny at the same time that you can’t help but laugh! And if you get a new pair out of it, well, nothing wrong with that!! 🙂

You know what I was wondering…. Have you already looked for or bought baby clothes? Because I was actually just saying to my mom: “One thing is for sure, when I get pregnant, I’m not buying any clothes, cause you always get those as a present!” And she was like: “Haha, no way you can resist buying those cute little clothes” … I guess I should believe the expert.

I really love that hairband! But I have a hairband issue as you have a scarf issue…unless it’s a lululemon or another athletic type headband I think I look like a goober in them. I’m terribly envious of my 6 year old niece’s ability to wear adorable headbands – she’d totally want yours!!

I had my fave pair of gladiators from Aldo (black on black! no tan/brown bottom) and the sole got a little crack, but before the work day was over I went outside and tripped on uneven sidewalk and the bottom sole on one of them peeled almost completely off. Not only did I have to plant myself at the desk the rest of the day and commute in DC Metro train traffic, but Aldo stopped making that style so I couldn’t replace them. Worst part by far 🙁
