Superbowl Sunday + see ya, Detox

Hi friends! How’s the morning going? By the time this post goes up, I plan to have consumed a mimosa. Detox is over! I’ll be doing a recap post with everything we did -the Pilot is writing a post with his thoughts, too- but I actually enjoyed it. I also realized which things I like to have in my life daily (CHOCOLATE) and those things that were just habits, like the nightly glass of wine. I’ll probably have it a couple of times a week now.

Brunch 1 of 1

Before I head into the rest of this post, POSH Podcast!!! They gave me a shout out on last week’s episode, and I can’t even begin to tell you how stoked I was. Nothing like the fresh feel of street cred haha. I thought there was no way they would know I’m obsessed with them, but I guess they check their Google Analytics. 🙂 I checked mine yesterday and three people found my blog by searching, “Girl does a little Irish jig.” What?

It’s Superbowl day! Are you watching?? I’ll be cheering for Katy Perry, the commercials, and the appetizers. If you’re looking for last-minute healthy ideas, there are some delicious ones here. I think I’m going to make a slow cooker buffalo chicken dip with homemade tortilla chips. I’m also excited to take some time and meal prep later today.

Plan, prep and dinner

Here’s what I’m thinking:

Balls 1 of 1

Prep:

Amazeballs

Paleo bread

Chop veggies for salad

Make smoothie packs (for smoothie bowls)

Smoothie bowl 1 of 1 5

Dinners:

Coconut lime chicken with brown rice and salad

Raw lasagna with a chopped veggie salad (I just finished Matthew Kenney’s book and am seriously craving some of his famous heirloom tomato lasagna)

Raw lasagna

-Salmon tacos with homemade beans and rice

-Chicken and sweet potato burgers (from the book!) with roasted broccoli

Meals and fitness

This week’s fitness plan includes some yogaaaaaa. I’m pretty stoked about it.

Here’s what the tentative plan looks like:

Sunday: OFF

Monday: Teach Spin

Tuesday: Orangetheory (I might take flamenco and strength train a little instead; we’ll see how I’m feelin’)

Wednesday: Teach spin and teach Zumba

Thursday: OFF

Friday: Yoga

Saturday: Yoga

Yoga 1 of 1

A little different than normal, but it’s going to be nice to shake things up a bit!

What are you up to today? Are you planning and prepping for the week?

I’ll have all of the details for Week 2 of your Winter Shape Up plan bright and early tomorrow. Your meal plan is live here!

Have a happy Sunday.

xoxo

Gina

PS. Happy birthday to my brother, Kyle. <3

Awesome recipies, especially the raw lasagna and these ballz, have to have to try!!

My food prep for the week was done Saturday, including lentil soup with chicken and actually since long some healthy bolognese with veggies and brown pasta. Let’s see how that works out.

Lately I have been very much up to pilates (in addition to my great love to heavy weights), but after two trial classes of ballet I think I really have to include that somehow to my weekly schedule – it gave me such a great body feeling that I am curious what happens if/when I continue doing it!

    • Fitnessista on February 1, 2015 at 4:05 pm

that is wonderful! it’s exciting to find something new you love and can add to your schedule 🙂

Your food line up for the week sounds amazing!! I’m just prepping a few veggies and hardboiled eggs, because I’m travelling Tues-Fri. But that means I’m packing oatmeal, protein powder, beef jerky and Quest bars as usual, to eat like a champ on the road!

    Happy Superbowl Sunday! =P

I did a detox a few years ago and I was really dependent on sugar. I’m planning on taking a lot of classes this week and getting outside for a walk with the baby once a day!

  11. Ashley @ A Lady Goes West on February 1, 2015 at 12:02 pm

Congrats on your detox! Hope those mimosas are excellent. I moved over the weekend so am just coming out from a mound of boxes and chores, but I have a Super Bowl party to attend with friends. So celebrations are in order. Happy Sunday! 🙂

Your fitness week always look so much fun! You alway switch things up and keep it interesting. Are you by any chance doing a Yoga workshop Friday and Sat? I’ve been itching to do one for a while now. I looked at a bunch of my local studios here in Chitown but it’s kind of dry this time of year. And I”m not really into Gong bath–or whatever that is–lol. My dream is to do a workshop in LA with Vinnie Marino. I’ve read such amazing things about him and how yoga helped heal him and his issues with addiction. I’ve read his flows are really fun and he uses rocking playlists. Hope you have a great week! XOXO

    • Fitnessista on February 1, 2015 at 4:00 pm

i am! i’m very excited about it 🙂
i’ve taken a class from vinnie before and really loved his vibe and style.
      have a great night!
      xoxo

Oh my gosh that yoga studio looks amazing! Like a divine nature retreat! (<-not to be dramatic or anything HA)

  18. Laura B @ FitMamaLove on February 1, 2015 at 8:45 pm

Aw, sweet throwback pic! We watched the Super Bowl (well, I didn’t pay attention until the last 2 min) with friends who are from Seattle, so it definitely made things more entertaining!

  19. Gina on February 2, 2015 at 5:13 am

I found the POSH podcast thanks to you and I heard the shout out they gave you!! Very cool! I’m starting my week shoveling again due to another snowstorm and celebrating the Patriots winning the Super Bowl baby! Gina (from Mass)

  20. Danielle on February 2, 2015 at 6:38 am

That picture of you and your baby brother is so adorable!

  23. madre on February 4, 2015 at 9:13 am

As always, the food recipies and pictures make me hungry, I want to download POSH poscast and dance! And the finish? With a tear of love because that is how I felt when I saw you 26 years ago kissing and loving your baby brother.
