Why NY?

Hi from the sky Smile

orlando

How’s your day going?? Hope you’re chillaxing and having a great morning <3

I woke up bright and early to catch my flight to NYC.

luggage

So proud of myself for not checking a bag! That pretty much never happens, but since I’m only going for one night, I have no excuses. That is, unless I do a lot of shopping and have to check a bag on the way back Winking smile

Breakfast was at the terminal- a cashew butter sandwich on brown rice bread + pumpkin/Sun Warrior/almond milk mush bowl

Last night, on a break from work, I picked up new sneaks to support my broken toe. Flip flops weren’t cutting it –I was so afraid to hit my toe on something!- and my other Asics bit the dust a couple of weeks ago.

This way, I ‘ll be comfy while I explore today Smile

(Side note: broken toe didn’t stop me from doing yoga in the store windows last night. Heh heh)

The Kindle is also equipped with its first book: I Remember Nothing

orlando 014

I’ve read a few pages and can tell it’s going to be a good one Smile

So a few of bloggy friends have asked what the heck I’m going to NY for, especially since I’ll only be in town for one night.

As much as I would love (LOOOOOVE!!!!) to say it was book deal related, it’s actually fitness-related, which is still going to be a crazy blasty. I’m going to be trained by two celebrity trainers in the morning and will be capturing the experience via Flip Cam to share with ya, as well as the tips and techniques I’ll learn. More deets will be up in the AM.

For now, I’m gonna catch a cab to the hotel, explore, gym it up and meet some friends for dinner.

See ya later today with some adventures!

xoxo,

Gina

Would it be weird/allowed/uncouth to just show up at an agent’s office tomorrow with my book proposal?? Just kidding… not really… haha

Sometimes quick trips are good; I’m headed to NYC early in the morning, and heading home on Tuesday afternoon. Going to see Rascal Flatts on David Letterman!

I love your luggage!!! 🙂 Is that black bag from lululemon? If so, I just noticed it in the store the other night (or one similar if it’s not) and was thinking of getting it to take traveling to Arizona for Christmas with my family. That would be perfect to keep your purse and books inside!

    • Fitnessista on November 14, 2010 at 5:49 pm

yup! i love it 🙂 it has a pouch for my laptop which is awesome 🙂
when i need something bigger, i’ll use my livewell bag, but the lululemon bag is for everyday

Just taking carry ons is sooo much easier than checking luggage. There’s no waiting after the flight, just grab your stuff and walk out. It’s nice 🙂

  15. Carrie (Moves 'N Munchies) on November 14, 2010 at 2:57 pm

sounds like it’ll be a fun trip! I don’t know how you managed to fit everything in a carry on! I’m horrible at packing- i need lots of options!

  16. Sana on November 14, 2010 at 3:34 pm

Glad to see I’m not the only person in the world who makes pumpkin mush bowls! havefun in new York! And as a side note, I will buy your first book in an instant. You are an awesome blog writer so I can only imagine how great a book by you would be for the other fitnessistas out here!

    Have fun in NY!!!!

And take care of that toe!!!

Just showing up at an agent’s office? I used to have sales rep jobs and the best way to get your foot in the door can be cold calling. Or just cold-showing up! We used to call it “storming the palace”. Where we’d just show up on doorsteps. I landed some big accounts that way..not kidding! Sometimes it’s just as important about meeting the person as much as what they have to say. You have nothing to lose!

    Try!!

    🙂

    • Fitnessista on November 14, 2010 at 5:47 pm

      maybe i will….

I think you should try showing up to an agent with your proposal! That way they’ll get a glimpse of your personality instead of just seeing you on paper. Do it! 😀

    • Fitnessista on November 14, 2010 at 10:27 pm

      i seriously am debating….

  23. Jodie on November 14, 2010 at 8:28 pm

Hi! What is pumpkin mush bowl? And what proportions of the pumpkin, Sun Warrior, & almond milk did you use to make yours?

    • Fitnessista on November 14, 2010 at 10:25 pm

not sure- it was kinda haphazard when i threw it together 🙂
      about 1 c pumpkin, 1 scoop sun warrior, 1/2 c almond milk?

  24. Heather (Heather's Dish) on November 14, 2010 at 10:12 pm

hey, i think fitness related is just as good! i can’t wait to see the videos!

  25. Jaime on November 15, 2010 at 1:31 am

My Mom just gave me a Kindle today for my birthday. I’m struggling with which book to get first!

  26. jenna on November 15, 2010 at 8:11 am

so sorry to hear you broke your toe! yuck! do you like the kindle? i’ve been worried about getting it…thinking it would make you sick to read too long…like the weird dizzy feeling you get if you read the computer screen too much.

you should show up at an agents office most def! you have alot of REAL qualifications for a fitness book.

  27. salah@myhealthiestlifestyle on November 15, 2010 at 9:26 am

I’,m sorry about your toe!! Have fun in NY!!

  28. Alison (Ali on the Run) on November 15, 2010 at 9:37 am
