“You Crossed the Line”

Hiiii 😀 Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend so far <3 HOLY ALMOND BUTTER! Keep those entries comin’– winner will be announced tomorrow AM.

This morning, the pilot had his first chocolate cherry bomb.

smoothies

I was kind of nervous that he wouldn’t like it, and the pressure was on because he said I would be facing extreme smoothie judgment.

pilot

The verdict?

He LOVED it.

Next, I asked him to try my smoothie (berries, banana, almond milk, Sun Warrior, raw cacao powder and spirulina) and when he made a face, I told him there was algae (spirulina) in it.

His response: “You crossed the line.”

Hahaha.

We got on the road to JACKSONVILLE this morning!

Ahhhhh! I <3 civilization 😀

We stopped at Turtle Island for lunch- it’s right by the resort and they have an awesome vegetarian/vegan selection.

Check out the foodgasmic dessert case:

I got the wrap of my dreams:

The pilot rolled with chicken and avocado:

We shared some sweet potato fries:

How could he NOT like the Cherry Chocolate Bomb? It’s amazing!!

I’ve been making my husband green smoothies lately, but he won’t go near Spirulina either! And I have to add extra fruit, so he doesn’t even taste a “hint” of green! Ha ha.

  4. amy on July 17, 2010 at 2:56 pm

I live in Jacksonville. We should have done a blog meet up for lunch. Is turtle Island restraunt out at the beach? I haven’t heard of it before.

    • Fitnessista on July 17, 2010 at 5:18 pm

i would have planned a meet-up, but we’re only here for one night! let me know if you want to meet for yoga in the morning!

  5. kelli on July 17, 2010 at 2:57 pm

hope you have a fun time in jacksonville!! I had a question about strength training, I have been lifting weights for the past 3 months and started with 4# weights now am up to 8# weights, and last night after lifting that morning I was up all night with DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) and I was wondering what I can do to prevent that, and if it does happen again how to help lessen the pain? I have been stretching..but what stretches do you thin are best? thank you so much!

  6. Andrea on July 17, 2010 at 3:22 pm

  14. Kilee on July 17, 2010 at 4:13 pm

Have tons of fun on your little vacay! I haven’t met anyone who didn’t like the Cherry Bomb! Take care!

  15. Moondancer on July 17, 2010 at 4:16 pm

I think I would have kept the Spirulina quiet, most likely I would have sprung it on him after he ate it. I have a few buddies that could care less what’s in the junk food they eat, but if it’s something healthy they’ll be asking. Thankfully they stopped doing that with me. Although I feed them healthy meals, it tastes good too.

Aren’t the birds cute, they sort of look like sparrows. I know, they’re plain and very common (depending on the area you live) but I think they’re adorable. 🙂

  16. Lauren on July 17, 2010 at 5:00 pm

Whoa those sweet potato fries look increds! Almost as incredible as the pilot’s expression. priceless. You guys have fun at that beautiful beach 🙂

I love the Melting Pot. The resort looks gorgeous, I hope you guys have fun!

Also a question about spirulina: I’ve had it in one of those Odwalla juices before and didn’t really taste anything strange. If I add it to a smoothie myself, does it have a distinct taste?

    • Fitnessista on July 17, 2010 at 11:00 pm

      thank you!
it has an interesting taste but i think the pilot wouldn’t have noticed if i wouldn’t have told him 😉

  39. kaila proulx on July 17, 2010 at 10:19 pm
