Zumba Rendezvous

Heyyyyy 😀 How are you?? Hope you’re having a great morning!

So glad ya’ll like the Pilot’s guest post! He’s a keeper, right? 😉

Yesterday, we had a meeting at work and I was so stoked when a very lovely friend surprised me with a whole grain bagel in the sea of white bagels:

IMG00338-20100922-0802

Smeared with peanut butter and with a little cantaloupe, it was pretty glorious 😀

I came back to the casa after the meeting (aaaaand after a stop at Whole Paycheck, heh heh), got the Pilot’s care package together and also packed up the macaroon goodie package for the winner of Tina’s charity bake sale.

It’s always fun to throw extra stuff in there 😀

Along with 2 dozen double chocolate chip macaroons, there were Vega packets of protein, mung bean fettuccine and black bean spaghetti, new Larabar flavors and nut butters.

Some random eats:

banana

(The original plan was to eat half the pack of almond butter, but I had to finish it. That Justin guy knows his stuff)

hot bar

MISO SLAW!! 😀 Saved the beets for today’s lunch salad topper

Sweet potato with goat gouda

SP

Salad beast with kamut bread and Garlic Gold:

My cousin and I had a lot of fun going on a Zumba rendezvous 😉 We were going to try out a class from a girl who may hire me to teach (I wanted to meet her in person since we’ve been emailing back and forth) but alas, didn’t bring cash to pay for the class. The girl was going to let me dance for free but we had no cash to pay for my cousin. So instead of going to an ATM and being 20 minutes late for class, we went to another Zumba class at the YMCA. Random little roadtrip, but we ended up having a blasty.

This morning, I’m off to work and then coming back to chillax before weights/cardio.

Can’t wait to show ya my packed lunch- I got a new lunchbox :D  <—- Nerd

Have a wonderful day!!

xoxo

Gina

  8. Jessica @ How Sweet on September 23, 2010 at 9:09 am

I am an even bigger nerd because I am excited to see your new lunchbox. I saw some Rachael Ray ones at the store the other day that I wanted to buy!

  9. Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat on September 23, 2010 at 9:17 am

Wow, what a great package! I neeeed to get some of this Justin’s Nut Butter – as far as I know it’s not available in Canada but I’m making a (very long) grocery list for my next trip to the States!

  10. Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat on September 23, 2010 at 9:19 am

Oooh I forgot, I also got a new lunchbox too! You can have a look here if you want: http://eatspinrunrepeat.wordpress.com/2010/09/20/my-first-day/

  13. Nic on September 23, 2010 at 10:11 am

I just read an article about Genetically Modified Salmon. It’s scary stuff, especially because very little research has gone into it. Yikes! Good thing more and more stores are carrying wild caught salmon (at least in my neck of the woods)! Thanks for sharing the article!

  14. Tracey @ I'm Not Superhuman on September 23, 2010 at 10:15 am

Can’t wait to see the lunchbox. I have one from the Container Store and it’s so cute. I love it!

  15. Kristina @ spabettie on September 23, 2010 at 10:16 am

I LOVE DAVID KIRSCH and have done all of his workouts!! He is awesome 🙂

  16. Natalie on September 23, 2010 at 10:22 am

I love Justin’s nut butta! I actually met Justin (the founder) about four years ago when we lived in Boulder because he was a friend of a friend. I ended up getting to tour the facility and chat with him for a while. He’s a really cool, down-to-earth guy. It’s fun to support products you know come from good people 🙂

  17. Heather (Heather's Dish) on September 23, 2010 at 10:34 am

i can’t wait to see your lunchbox! is it bad that’s one of the most exciting things i’ve read today? 🙂

  18. Angela on September 23, 2010 at 10:48 am

The Pilot’s post was so cute! Loved that he made a special appearance. Your recent eats look so yummy. Especially the sweet potato.

I’ve finally found a Zumba class and am trying it out next week. I can’t wait!

  19. Chelsea on September 23, 2010 at 10:51 am

Woo- whoever is getting that box is one lucky reader! Looks like it is jammed back with delicious goods 🙂

  20. Whitney @ Whitinspired on September 23, 2010 at 10:55 am

Gah. I wish we had a whole foods. Or maybe I don’t. All of our moolah would go there. The hubs probably wouldn’t be very happy.

  21. Shanna @ Shanna LIke Banana on September 23, 2010 at 11:01 am

Your hubby had a very cute post yesterday. You can tell he adores you 🙂

  22. Chelsea @ Strawberry Sweat on September 23, 2010 at 11:06 am

I agree, that Justin sure knows his stuff when it comes to almond butter! I love just eating a banana and almond butter for breakfast, lunch, a snack, etc.!

  23. Lisa on September 23, 2010 at 11:07 am

Another Whole Foods question – do you get the Mung Bean pasta there? I’d love to try it!

  24. Gena on September 23, 2010 at 11:22 am

    Perfect banana 🙂

  25. Tyler on September 23, 2010 at 11:26 am

I love that so many ladies commenting up in here love lunch boxes! Glad I’m not the only nerd! I can’t wait to move back to civilization and lose my Whole Foods virginity. I’m more ready than you’ll ever know! Hehe!

  26. hippierunner on September 23, 2010 at 11:27 am

Ooh, I want to see your lunchbox! And thanks for the links, Dangerous Personal Trainers looks interesting!

  27. MoniMeals on September 23, 2010 at 11:34 am

David Kirsch=beuno and Dangerous Personal Trainers=no bueno. As a trainer myself, you can’t just become a good trainer over night…It scares me how mnay un-qualified trainers there are!

  28. Tina on September 23, 2010 at 11:35 am

You sound like you’re settling in so nicely! And the winner of your macaroons is one lucky lady. 🙂

  29. Lisa on September 23, 2010 at 12:33 pm

All of that food looks delicious! =)

  30. Jaclyn on September 23, 2010 at 12:37 pm

  32. Allison @ Food For Healing on September 23, 2010 at 12:46 pm

i want a goodie package from you! it would be so awesome, Canada has like NONE of that good stuff, so i’m totally missing out.

I love lunch boxes, can’t wait to see it.

  33. Katie on September 23, 2010 at 1:05 pm

Found this recipe for Miso Coleslaw on Whole Food’s website. Don’t know if it can come close to what you find in store, but I’m gonna give it a try!

  35. Sarah on September 23, 2010 at 1:17 pm

I hope by not showing up to zumba with cash you thought that you could swipe a debit card or something. I hope you didnt think that you and your cousin would get in for free.

    • Fitnessista on September 23, 2010 at 4:45 pm

i hope that by reading my blog you know that my character isn’t like that. i’d never rip anyone off, let alone a fellow fitness professional. they wouldn’t take my debit card and i never carry cash

  36. Dani on September 23, 2010 at 1:23 pm

I love the tips on building a better sandwich! Also, how is the Justin’s chocolate almond butter? Sounds like it MUST be amazing!!!

    • Fitnessista on September 23, 2010 at 4:44 pm

glad you liked the tips! the almond butter was amazeballs

  37. MareBare on September 23, 2010 at 1:24 pm

Hey Gina! Have u heard of Galeos miso dressings? We have them at our wholefoods out in ca and they are amazing!!!! If you like miso slaw imagine what u could do if u could “miso-ize” everything lol. I use it on my salads all the time and its amazing- the ingredient list is short and hopefully gina friendly. It comes in all kinds of flavors but my faves are the ginger wasabi and caesar. If they have them near you, I totally recommend trying them 🙂

    • Fitnessista on September 23, 2010 at 4:44 pm

yum!!! i’ll look for those, thanks for letting me know!

  38. Dana Marie on September 23, 2010 at 1:42 pm

Miso slaw? is that already made in prepared foods?? I havent seen that at any of the NYC Wholefoods– that sounds good
or did you just make a salad and that’s a dressing they have somewhere at the bar????? MUST KNOW lol

    • Fitnessista on September 23, 2010 at 4:44 pm

it’s already prepared and SOOOO good 🙂

    • Dana Marie on September 24, 2010 at 11:52 am

ooo must find! thanks for the tip off! PS your new bento box is adorable!

  39. gigi on September 23, 2010 at 2:04 pm

I have been reading about the gm salmon and I am outraged that the fda might not only pass this thing but it might not even have to be labled genetically modified.

    • Fitnessista on September 23, 2010 at 4:43 pm

      scary right??

  40. Megan @ Healthy Hoggin' on September 23, 2010 at 2:06 pm

Oh, what a great way to start the day– I love whole wheat bagels with peanut butter! Eating them reminds me of my first “real” job when my husband and I would have a little “breakfast date” before work! 😀

What section of Whole Foods carries the mung bean fettuccine? I saw some mung bean pasta in the Asian foods section, but it didn’t look nearly as good as yours!

  41. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on September 23, 2010 at 2:20 pm

New lunch boxes rock. haha! I have about 10 between Scott, me, and Skylar..never leave home without a well-packed (and cute!) lunchbox!

So glad that you found another zumba class up the road, even though it was a little bit of a unplanned “field trip”, sounds like it worked out perfectly! I am loving hearing about your new explorations in your new city!

    So happy for you!

    🙂

  42. Stephanie on September 23, 2010 at 2:34 pm

Hi Gina! I’ve been following your little bloggie for a few months now but haven’t commented yet. I love checking in each day and getting new food/fitness ideas. I JUST had my first packet of Justin’s Almond Butter (Maple Flavor) this morning with an apple. So yum!

  43. Sana on September 23, 2010 at 2:58 pm

What goes into a pilot care package, other than foodgasms?

    • Fitnessista on September 23, 2010 at 4:41 pm

brown rice krispies, annie’s bunnies, crackers and sardines, larabars, swedish fish and clif builder bars 🙂

  44. Wendy @ Seriously Sassy on September 23, 2010 at 3:23 pm

    Hi Gina!
Ya know, after seeing the Zumba video clip on the pilot’s guest post, I think I may be able to handle it. Looks dancey but not TOOOO dancey. Can you recommend a good Zumba DVD to try?? Thanks! <3

  45. Jenna on September 23, 2010 at 6:35 pm

  46. Erika @ Food, Fitness, & Fun on September 23, 2010 at 6:57 pm

Okay, next time there is a blog bake sale I am bidding for your stuff! 🙂 PS – How was the chocolate AB? Better than chocolate PB?

    • Fitnessista on September 23, 2010 at 9:25 pm

haven’t tried the chocolate pb but the ab was amazing 🙂

  47. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on September 23, 2010 at 7:32 pm

I love that you got a lunch box! I think I need to invest in one myself because I’ve just been toting all my containers around in a plastic bag. Either that or I use old Lululemon bags.

  48. kaila on September 27, 2010 at 7:22 pm
