Wish we had some of that sun in Seattle!! Happy New Year!

  2. Michelle on January 1, 2012 at 8:24 pm

I think it’s funny that people have to be told to stay away from Mountian Lions!!!

  3. Jessica on January 1, 2012 at 8:27 pm

Hmmm, that looks suspiciously like a walk with the aim of getting labor going 🙂

  4. Leslie Wingate on January 1, 2012 at 8:28 pm

That belly is just so dang sweet! <3 Have a wonderful 2012, Fitnessista Family.

By the way, my cuz got certified to teach Zumba. She wants to do it for free at church as a ministry for the ladies here, and this is one of the tracks. I love a song about chocolate! 😉

i remember eating huge containers of pineapple the last week of my pregnancy because i heard it helped to get things started. not sure if that’s why you’re eating it too but at 39 weeks, it can’t hurt 😉 hoping you get to meet your baby girl very soon and praying everything goes smoothly.

  6. Barb on January 1, 2012 at 8:39 pm

It is going to be 22* tomorrow in Chicago. 🙁 I am totally jealous of your beautiful weather, sun and the ability to hike.

  7. Nikki FYC on January 1, 2012 at 8:40 pm

I was going to write the same thing. Looks like a lovely start of the new year!

  10. Logan on January 1, 2012 at 8:52 pm

You sure look like you’re getting close! So glad you had such a fun day with your husband and Bella. Prayers for everything to go smoothly when the little lady makes her appearance!

  11. Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga on January 1, 2012 at 8:53 pm

Beautiful pics of the day and if exercise could get labor started, looks like you guys had a lovely hike and lovely time outside and who knows, maybe it will get Her moving 🙂

And you have the cutest baby bump ever in that last full length shot of you…so cute. You look amazing, Gina!

    Happy New Year!

Ohhhh please, please send some heat to Vancouver….us Canadians are chilly 😉

Looks like a great way to spend the first day of a brand new year!!! You’re glowing and gorgeous!!! Nothing beats a hike to get that baby movin’, huh??

    xxoo

The baby looks crazy in that top!!! Looks like it was an awesome day!

  14. Lisa O on January 1, 2012 at 9:22 pm

On the other side of the world, feeling a bit jealous of the cooler temps you are experiencing! I’m 36 weeks now and the heat in Western Australia is a little intense. Instead of hikes and I am doing beach walks and swims before hibernating inside with air-conditioning. Hope you’re feeling as comfortable as possible at 40 weeks and enjoying the last few days. Well done for being such an incredible mum already, I bet your baby feels incredibly secure, happy and healthy in there just waiting to make her grand entrance! xoxo

    • Fitnessista on January 1, 2012 at 11:55 pm

thank you, lisa! she’s definitely staying in there as long as possible 😉 can’t blame her, though- i did the same thing to my mom.
so excited your baby will be here soon, too!

  15. Georgia on January 1, 2012 at 9:25 pm

You do look great! Am praying she turns over on her own and that things go “smoothly”. She’s going to be the greatest blessing ever and there will be many euphoric moments looking into those sweet eyes.. We’re almost six months in and still head over heels in love!!

    • Fitnessista on January 1, 2012 at 11:54 pm

      i’m so incredibly excited

  16. Amanda on January 1, 2012 at 9:27 pm

  17. danielle on January 1, 2012 at 9:28 pm

  23. HRCK the Herald on January 1, 2012 at 10:13 pm

Looked like it was a beautiful hike and start to a new year! You inspire me to remain fit and active when I am ready to be a mom some day. Rock Star!

    • Fitnessista on January 1, 2012 at 11:52 pm

thank you, kelly! i’m moving a lot more slowly, but it still feels good 🙂

  26. Chelsea @ Go Chelsea Go! on January 1, 2012 at 10:43 pm

Looks like a beautiful start to the new year! The new year in Minnesota started out with snow and a lot of wind, so I’m just a little jealous 🙂

  27. Jes Suazo on January 1, 2012 at 10:48 pm

Jealous of the weather!! It was nice & sunny here but that Oklahoma wind whips right through the body.

    • Fitnessista on January 1, 2012 at 11:52 pm

  29. Nicole on January 1, 2012 at 11:31 pm

You look beautiful! Your 9 months preg. and still very active, you deserve an award! I also think it is hilarious when you are later posting/commenting readers think you must be in labor, but then another blog post is up and we all know your still playing the waiting game!

    • Fitnessista on January 1, 2012 at 11:50 pm

that’s what everyone keeps saying! i promise not to leave you guys hanging when it happens- i’ll put a quick post and tweet up

  30. Kalee on January 2, 2012 at 1:05 am

OH I am so jealous of the 70 degree weather!! It’s going to be 34 here on Tuesday! 🙁 BUR! 😛

  31. babs on January 2, 2012 at 2:48 am

You look like you’re smuggling a watermelon, and it looks so adorable. I wish it was hiking weather over here, but Melbourne was around 105 today. I literally think I could have fried an egg on the sidewalk.

  32. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on January 2, 2012 at 7:48 am

I’m so jealous of your weather – I don’t think we’re going to see temperatures like that here until at least April! I’m counting down the days til spring already. 😛

  33. Angie on January 2, 2012 at 9:12 am

I love that you’re still walking around and doing things.. obv to get things moving!! 🙂 I’d do the same thing. Your pictures are beautiful. I’m in jacksonville and it’s going to be in the 20’s here tonight!! I wish we had somewhere to go walk like that… I guess there’s the beach lol

  34. kristen @ verbs and vignettes on January 2, 2012 at 10:40 am

i would have said farewell to that walk the minute i saw the mountain lion sign. i’d scare off at a lot less. hahaha.

  35. Chloe on January 2, 2012 at 1:16 pm

Being from Southern California (and living in Palm Springs before I moved to Boston) I love, love, love when you post pictures of the winter desert <— my favorite. It's so beautiful! What a great way to start off the new year!

  36. Allison on January 2, 2012 at 2:31 pm

Jealous of you warm weather! A cold front just came in and it’s supposed to be in the 20’s tomorrow *gasp*!

  37. April on January 3, 2012 at 7:48 pm

Aaaahhh…the walking! I remember being 39 weeks and already 3-4 cm and feeling like that baby was going to plop right out. And I was crying and wishing she WOULD so we did yummy Mexican food and then I walked, pushing my son in his stroller. Neither helped. I got bad heartburn and my hips/legs/girly bits area was even more sore afterwards. LOL But I was determined to do all I could! GOOD LUCK!!
