Bahamian Wildlife

Hey guys! Happy Saturday! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend so far <3

us

We didn’t end up taking a kayak yesterday because it was too windy, but we did encounter quite a bit of Bahamian wildlife.

Lots of lizards!

A seagull, that kept jumping into the pool to bathe and cool off

A kitty, who was curled up under one of the pub benches

A JELLYFISH, who decided to sting me on the right ta-ta and looked pretty much like this:

Actually, I didn’t see it. I just felt it and the pilot thinks it was probably a small tentacle that had broken off and was floating around.

That ish hurt. And I’ve never wanted to punch a jellyfish so badly in my life 😉

We also encountered a rabbit of the “towel” species.

He came bearing gifts of chocolate, which we happily ate 😀

The plan for today is to do Insanity, which we skipped out on yesterday, grab bfast and hit up the beach. Hopefully it will be less windy so we can kayak 🙂 And hopefully, no more jellyfish will want to pick a fight 😉

See ya laterrrr. Have a fabulous Saturday!

xoxo,

Gina

  1. Stupid jellyfish. I’ve never been stung by one so I’m just gonna take your word for it that it hurt.

Awww I love going on trips where you get towel animals. My husband took a class when we were on a cruise so now (he thinks) he’s a professional. Hahaha

Have fun! I hope the wind dies down so you can kayak today!!

DUMB JELLYFISH! Those are infamous in the beaches in Batangas over here. I’m so glad I didn’t encounter any during my 3-day getaway (thanks to my excessive paranoia).

I’ve never been to a hotel where they form towels into animals!! That is so cute. 🙂

I love towel critters! So cute! Our honeymoon to Belize was full of them (a new one everyday). Monkeys, swans, etc. Such a small thing but it made me happy. Love the bunny! That’s a new one.

yeh im with karyn… i had the traumatic experience of being stung by a jelly on my foot. but he got me good. i stepped on it basically so my whole foot was on fire and stinging…. soooo my dad told MY BROTHER to pee on me!!!! Are you kidding me?!?!?! I mean thats every little brothers dream right there…. telling him its okay to pee on his sister. OH so he thought it was funny and my dad had to hold me down then warmth went all over my foot… and shortly after… most of the sting was gone. you could really see the spots tho. ICK! butttt Im sure asking the pilot to pee on your boob sounds less than desirable… unless you’re into that kinda thing lol. JUST KIDDING GINAA… hahaha OH and btw… the hub went to the flight line this week and saw the a-10 and it is just one hunk of black metal now is how he described it. so I hope pilots wingmans okay. =]

sounds like you’re having a blast! something fun to do: see if they have hobie cats! (flat bottomed boats with sails) – we took them out when we went on our honeymoon in St. Lucia and had an awesome time! but beware of wind 🙂

The only creature I’ve seen lately is the illusive Northern Reticulated Fitnessista. Often found near starbucks and malls, the Hopping Fitnessista has been known to visit beaches on occasion. Her preferred sources of food include salmon, salads and larabars which aid in keeping her quite tranquil; however, if you should encounter the Fitnessista with vino in hand, direct eye contact is not advised – This is the time when the Fitnessista is at her most unpredictable (characterized by the distinctive “booty shakin’) ; often leading to misclassification as a total party animal.
