5 Truths

1. I was a bad blogger today.

bella

(She crosses her arms like such a little lady)

I didn’t take very many pictures, partially because I was in a frenzy (my first flight to Jacksonville was canceled due to weather and ever since then it’s been go-go-go) and partially because I couldn’t decide if I wanted to rock a goobery smile all day from the good news or break out into a blubbery sob fest of happiness. So I did a combination of the two. I probably scared many people.

2. I accidentally-on-purpose forgot my Tom’s shoes so that I’d *have* to buy new ones. Winking smile These are the ones I’ve been lusting over:

Denim??!?! Oh please be mine Smile

3. My husband flies planes for a living, but flying scares the bejeezus out of me. Every time we’re about to land, or hit a patch of turbulence, I say “Hail Mary”s like it’s nobody’s biznazz.

Packed breakfasts distract me from how scared I am while flying:

except for today. I ate mine sitting atop my suitcase waiting for two hours to get my flight changed. The Continental guys were extra nice to me because I wasn’t raging angry like everyone else, but since the Pilot had just told me the news, I could care less about the flight  Winking smile

4. I love Dance Trance. Re-caps will start in the am- lots of fun stuff in store for this weekend!

5. I’ll be a better blogger tomorrow Open-mouthed smile

<3 Thank you for all of your incredible tweets, comments, emails and good vibes. You’re all amazing and I’m grateful to *know* you everyday. Can’t wait to share our T-town adventures with all of ya Smile

    Where’s #4?

    • Fitnessista on February 25, 2011 at 11:58 pm

      it’s a secret, hahah. i’m just super tired 😉

  2. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on February 25, 2011 at 11:42 pm

I can tell your day was crazy b/c you missed a 4th truth but if I had your day, with a flight cancellation, being scared of flying, finding out where I was going to live (yay for Tuscon!) and had those Tom’s on the brain…I would have totally skipped #4 too.

I heart you, Gina! Have a peaceful Friday night and enjoy your weekend. So happy for you that you know where you’re going to be living now!! 🙂

  3. Shelby on February 25, 2011 at 11:42 pm

    Hahahahah! G$ forgot number 4! 😛

    • Fitnessista on February 25, 2011 at 11:49 pm

  4. Ari @ ThE DiVa DiSH on February 25, 2011 at 11:44 pm

Your an amazing blogger!! I hate flying too! It scares me soooo bad! Congrats on Tuscan! 🙂

  5. Laura (On the Threshold of Greatness) on February 25, 2011 at 11:48 pm

I’m a nervous flyer too! As much as I love to travel, I hate giving up that control to someone else! Glad you made it safely! And I’m still so happy for you and the pilot! 😀 I always think working at the airport has got to be one of the most stressful jobs! My traveling mantra is “at this time tomorrow, I’ll be where I need to be and none of this will matter.” It has helped me through so many delayed flights and 3 hour commutes from work! I’m glad you were able to bring a little happiness to the airline employees today. 🙂

So Toms are comfortable? I love the idea of the company but I haven’t committed to buying a pair. yet…

  6. Stefanie @TheNewHealthy on February 26, 2011 at 12:17 am

Accidently on purpose forgot your Tom’s! haha Love it–I’m going to use that excuse! 😉

  7. Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter on February 26, 2011 at 12:20 am

I didn’t even see that #4 was skipped until the other commenters said something. haha. I must be beyond tired too.

I’ve gone on so many disaster travel trips, but does it ever help to be very nice and sincere to the airline people. They respond with such a better mood and I even had one search other airlines for flights to get me out of San Francisco so I didn’t have to spend the night, but no luck (they are NOT supposed to be looking for other airlines). They got me on a very convenient flight though and were so courteous.

Oh, I know how you feel with the flying business, it scares me too and my husband is about to start flying around on a plane for a living. Congratulations on the location of your PCS!

  9. Allison @ Food For Healing on February 26, 2011 at 12:53 am

flying stresses me out too, turbulence and landing the most too. I clenched my boyfriends arm or hand, but he squeezes back 🙂

  10. Namaste Gurl on February 26, 2011 at 12:55 am

Sending safe and happy travels to you! Have fun 🙂

  11. Sable @ SquatLikeALady on February 26, 2011 at 1:19 am

I’m a nervous flier too! After 5 flights in the past 10 days, I have officially decided to retire and never ever fly again.

Well. Until I am offered a trip to a warm-weather destination, that is. 😉

Safe & happy travels! Get some rest 🙂

  12. The Balanced Bean on February 26, 2011 at 1:26 am

I am afraid of flying too! Even though I have literally been on hundreds of flights in my day, they still make me nervous. For me its not landing, its the take-off! And of course every rough patch. Hope the rest of your trip is smoother and congrats again on the good news!

  13. Parita @ myinnershakti on February 26, 2011 at 1:33 am

Yay for Tucson! Very excited for you and can’t wait to learn about your new projects! Safe travels. 🙂

  19. Stephanie on February 26, 2011 at 7:59 am

I also hate, hate, hate flying…and I also have a husband who flies in planes every day for a living. The irony isn’t lost on me! I’m glad you’re being sent to Tuscon! I was nervous on your behalf that they’d send you somewhere with a cold winter. Congratulations!

  20. Genevieve on February 26, 2011 at 8:15 am

I would love to try Dance Trance – push Dance Trance to Canada or better yet, make DVDs 😉

  23. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on February 26, 2011 at 8:30 am

I hate flying too! The idea of crashing scares the crap out of me! 😛

  24. Val @ Balancing Val on February 26, 2011 at 8:38 am

    Very happy for you!!

It pays off being extra nice no matter what, especially in an airport 🙂

  25. Holly @ Couch Potato Athlete on February 26, 2011 at 8:39 am

Those Toms are super cute. I’ll have to check them out. They look so comfy.

Sorry to hear about the flight cancellations. I’m ok with flying — as long as I’m with someone else. Flying alone? No thanks. In December I took a short flight from Minneapolis to Chicago and I *almost* asked the guy next to me to hold my hand.

    Have fun at DT!

  26. gina g on February 26, 2011 at 8:44 am

I didn’t get a chance to say it yesterday because I just now had the chance to catch up, but CONGRATS to both of you! I am so happy/thrilled for you two!

    🙂

  27. Kathie on February 26, 2011 at 8:46 am

Second..what is that purse in the picture of you and the Pilot in his Tuscon post? It’s HOT!

Third..hahah..this is crazy im posting like this…is that granola you made? have you shared the recipe before? I want it!! haha

  30. Lindsay on February 26, 2011 at 10:26 am

Congrats to you and the Pilot! I can only imagine how excited you must be! Isn’t it the best feeling when you are so happy about something that nothing else seems to matter?

  31. Mel on February 26, 2011 at 11:30 am

I’m SO EXCITED for your happy news!!!! After the uncertainty and having to be so flexible all the time, I can’t tell you how exciting it is to see it all pay off. YOU DESERVE THIS!

  32. Christine (The Raw Project) on February 26, 2011 at 11:30 am

Love the Tom’s shoes, they have a new vegan style that I’ve been thinking about too. I hear ya on the flying nerves and my dad is a pilot, so I grew up flying on lots of planes.

  33. Annette @ enjoyyourhealthylife on February 26, 2011 at 1:06 pm

Happy day 🙂 It is all good to be a “bad” blogger once in awhile-even though you hardly were!

  34. Katelyn @ Chef Katelyn on February 26, 2011 at 3:20 pm

  38. Natalie on February 26, 2011 at 7:13 pm

I’m soo happy for you! I’ve been following your blog for awhile and I love it. It’s one of the few that I visit regularly. I just started a blog myself…but I have no idea what I’m doing haha. Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures. PS-wish we had dance trance where I’m from. Sounds like so much fun.

  41. Lindsey @ Cardio Pizza on February 27, 2011 at 10:43 am

I love when dogs sit like that! It’s so cute!:) And flying scares the heck outta me too…I know it’s safer than driving, but something about shaking around in mid-air just doesn’t sit well with me! I still do it though but pray my little heart out like you!

  42. Jessica @ Healthy Dairyland on February 27, 2011 at 2:01 pm

Flying scares me too! It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve flown before, every time we hit turbulence I freak the eff out and say Hail Mary’s too!
