9/30: Some pics from the day

It’s funny because with everything we did today, the camera barely seemed to escape the diaper bag.

7 mile run,

brunch with nana and tata,

trip to the farmer’s market (which was closing when we got there)

to the Humane Society with Bell to see if we could find a friend -still waiting for the perfect dog who loves kids and won’t try to eat Bell

back home for Liv’s nap

to my dad’s house for grilling and cupcakes.

I did manage to get a couple gems- here are some of the faves:

After brunch at Eclectic Cafe:

Nana and liv

walking with Bell at La Encantada (the Pilot wore Liv in the Ergo)

Me and bell 2

Roasting veggies to take to dad’s:

Fun in the tunnel after dinner:

and… dessert 🙂

This might be a silly question, but how do you get those beautiful ridges on the veggies? Mandolin? Is there a knife with that pattern? Gorgeous!

Your post is bittersweet to me. I know just about every Sunday you guys meet somewhere and have brunch. I just lost my grandmother who raised me most of my life and I remember we used to have a huge family lunch at her house every single Sunday. It was the best thing. Just enjoy those Sundays with your family 🙂
Side note: I just have to brag a tiny bit. My grandma was one month shy of 97!! She literally died of old age: never had cancer or other illness, never any heart trouble, kept her mind up until the very end, still was able to walk and get around, and had quite the sense of humor 🙂 If we could all be that lucky….

Have y’all considered getting Bella a male friend? I don’t have too much experience with animals (so I probably don’t really have a clue) but I have noticed a lot of dominant aggressive behavior in animals of the same sex. Maybe a male dog wouldn’t feel threatened by Bell. Either way, good luck in your search!

My grandfather (bubba as I call him) just turned 90. We all joke that he is gonna out live all of us. This gives me hope that he might one day be able to see his youngest grandchild (me) walk down the aisle and maybe dance with me at my wedding one day.

I think it is awesome you are going to rescue a dog. Considering over 50% get put down in shelters, it is great you are bringing awareness to adoption rather than shopping! Breeders, puppy mills, etc. all need to stop until our overpopulation is in control. Adopting a dog is one of the best things you can do. PETFINDER.COM is a great resource – you can find a rescue dog, exactly what you are doing, all over the U.S. There are plenty of transport groups available also:)

Hey Gina, I think it’s great that you are thinking of adopting a friend for Bell. I too have a small dog (pomeranian) and we recently adopted a little kitten. What a difference a furry friend makes! My pom plays with the kitten all the time and he doesn’t seem as lonely anymore. I saw someone suggest looking through petfinder here, I agree, I think it’s a great resource tool and you can search all local rescues at once. And also a male might be a better fit for Bell, often two females will not get along.

Thanks for the workout calendar (although Melissa’s right, the link doesn’t go there yet :p)! It’s nice to have something set out for me to look at when my inspiration runs low.

Is sweet potato and butternut squash? I need to invest in a crinkle cutter! Liv is adorable by the way 🙂

Congrats on the 7 mile run – sometimes it can be a challenge to keep trucking away after you complete an event you’ve been training for. I also love Olivia in the tunnel – too cute.

Thank you so much for putting together an October workout calendar!! Very excited to see this 🙂 Not to be redundant but it does still link to the arm burner page…which is a killer workout too! Thanks and Happy Monday!
