All and nothing

Today was one of those days where I felt busy all day, but don’t feel like I accomplished that much. Here’s to more productivity tomorrow.

I did get in a workout (Zuuuuuumba) and went to hang out with my work friends for a little while. I’m on call this week, so since I didn’t need to go in, it was nice to say hi to everyone and hang out for a sec after class.

Came home and was ready for lunch:

a few of these beauties while my egg cooked

cookies

and enjoyed the heftiest beast I’ve made in a while.

salad

A lot went into this thing:

Greens

Heated up turkey

Steamed egg

Steamed beets

Leftover sautéed pizza veggies

Croutons made out of Black China Rice bread toast

Mushrooms

Sea salt, pepper, oregano, garlic, walnut oil and red wine vinegar

Oh, and a side of turkey beggar.

bell

She’s so cute, I can’t resist.

Afternoon snack was the new Larabar flavor that they sent me to try:

larabar

The verdict?

I LOVED it. I didn’t know how I’d feel with dates and almonds mixed into coffee flavor, but the flavor was mild and pleasant. I’d have to say it’s my new #2 flavor –Blueberry reigns supreme.

It was my first chiropractor appointment today, which I also enjoyed –I’ll post the deets on my family post tomorrow- and we just got back to the casa.

I’m going to go… a man in a flight suit is cooking me dinner 😉

pilot

See ya in the morning!

xoxo,

Gina

Happy birthday to my lovely MIL <3

Oooo a new Larabar?! Can’t wait. My faves are currently Ginger Snap (anything with ginger is good by me) and Blueberry Muffin. Runners up: choc peppermint and the one with ‘cookie dough’ in the title (choc cookie dough.. it’s nothing like cookie dough, but it’s still great).

      i love gingersnap too 🙂

    • Lisa @ Fresh Spinach on December 28, 2011 at 11:13 pm

My husband surprised me with a ginger snap Larabar the other day. I had never had it before. He also called me his ginger snap, so I think it’s probably my favorite just for that reason.

      • Fitnessista on December 28, 2011 at 11:15 pm

        oh, that’s cute!

    • Leslie Wingate on December 28, 2011 at 10:37 pm

Oh, and I heart Ginger Snap too. When I see it at the store, I get all giddy. Choc Peppermint?????? WHA!

      • Sara on December 29, 2011 at 5:41 am

You have not discovered the choc peppermint one? You must do it or live in regret!!

  3. JennyV on December 28, 2011 at 10:37 pm

Not sure what I’d do without my chiropractor!! (He just happens to be my husband–bonus!)

  4. Leanne (Bride to Mrs.) on December 28, 2011 at 10:42 pm

    I haven’t had a larabar in forever!

I’m getting so excited for the little baby fitnessista to come into this world; every time I’m on twitter I hope to see you’re in labor.. You’re going to be such a fantastic mama. I really hope you continue the family posts once she’s born.

    • Fitnessista on December 28, 2011 at 10:43 pm

Hey Gina, I’m trying to eat less grain and more veggie. I’d loooove some chili on sweet potato or marinara on zucchini. Do you recommend a spiral slicer?

    • Fitnessista on December 28, 2011 at 10:52 pm

      YES!

Ooooo Capuccino, I haven’t tried that one yet. I had blueberry muffin for the first time today and was very impressed! 🙂

  9. Hillary [Nutrition Nut on the Run] on December 28, 2011 at 11:06 pm

I can’t wait to try the cappuccino flavor – yum!

What does the pilot do as a job when he’s not deployed? Teach…? 🙂

    • Fitnessista on December 28, 2011 at 11:08 pm

yep he teaches newbie pilots how to fly the a-10. he’s the guy that follows them the first time they’re in the jet and teaches them all of the strategies and techniques for future deployments. it’s pretty amazing

  10. chelsea on December 28, 2011 at 11:19 pm

Ohh that new Larabar flavor just sounds delicious!!

  11. Katelyn @ Chef Katelyn on December 28, 2011 at 11:20 pm

CAPPUCCINO? Uh yes please? And the gluten-free ginger snaps. I love you, TJ.

  12. Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga on December 28, 2011 at 11:23 pm

Blueberry bars are awesome. Not sure if you eat Cliff bars or not but the blueberry Cliff is really good and really blueberry-ey. I love that bar. Reminds me to pick one up soon 🙂

Good info on the Capp Larabar. I bet the Capp with the nuts is reallllllly good. Mmm, I can almost taste it now 🙂

You were highly productive today: You’re growing a human!!!!

  13. Emily on December 28, 2011 at 11:34 pm

Wow, I really, really didn’t like the cappucino Larabar! This sounds bad, but I actually had to spit it out! I think that the coffee granule-texture threw me off a little bit too much.

(I am appreciative that the Larabar people sent me the flavor to try. I just prefer the other flavors!)

  14. Karlee @ BringingBackBalance on December 29, 2011 at 2:18 am

Cappuccino larabar? Are the snack gods trying to kill me? Are they in stores yet? I am going to look tomorrow lol. Or maybe I will try to make my own. Oooohwee I am excited haha.

  15. Kiran @ KiranTarun.com on December 29, 2011 at 2:37 am

I agree with Averie — you are so productive, any day 😀 Love you sweetie…

  16. Jess on December 29, 2011 at 3:22 am

I love reading all of your posts but the ones that end with a picture of the pilot in his uniform are my fav! Haha 😉 Between the two of you that baby is going to be beautiful!

  17. Ami@dashofcurry.com on December 29, 2011 at 6:31 am

I just bought that Black Rice bread– croutons are such a great idea! Also, I just purchased some walnut oil, and I can’t wait to try it out in some salad dressing!

    Ohh! That flavor sounds amazing!!!

I think I’d like it because sometimes I find the sweet flavors just a little too sweet. Can’t wait to try it!

  21. Faith on December 29, 2011 at 10:34 am

Yay for chiropractic! My husband is a D.C. and I run his office. I just read last night that the number one treatment for back pain during pregnancy is chiropractic! I look forward to reading about your experience.

    • Fitnessista on December 29, 2011 at 11:29 am

i’m going to blog about it today, but i feel about 1000x better 🙂
