Barre Ab Burner {video}

Hi friends! Happy almost-Friday! Hope you’re having a lovely morning. I put together a barre ab workout for you while I head off on an adventure today. I’m so excited to post the details! I’ll get to see snow (the kind that sticks to the ground haha) for the first time in years. I am wholly unprepared for the realness that’s headed my way haha.

A barre ab workout featuring some of my favorite moves! This 10-minute video will work every abdominal muscle and also helps to strengthen the low back, which is a critical component of our core. fitnessista.com

(Sweatpants from Kohl’s, tank is lululemon)

I feel like the ab/core section in barre classes is not like pizza: It’s either OH YES I FEEL THE BURN, or meh. Since the movements tend to be within a smaller range of motion, you have to make sure that your posture and alignment is on par (I almost said “on fleek” there but I’m 30).

Barre Ab Workout Video

Here’s a 10-minute video I put together featuring some of my very favorite moves! We work in high hold with some oblique twists, move onto the floor for figure 4 crunches, leg lifts, and finally, into a prone position for low back work. This 10-minute video will work every abdominal muscle and also helps to strengthen the low back, which is a critical component of our core. As always, modify as needed and check with a doc before making any fitness changes.

Let me know if you give a it a try! See you soon.

xoxo

    This burned so good. I actually love your ab burners (the five min ones rock!) and do them quite frequently. You should keep making more!

    Thank you so much for having such a wonderful and free website, with short videos I can do when I actually find myself WITHOUT the kids for 10 minutes (even if it means doing a barre burner on the kitchen floor…). And thank you for not making it all about being lean and sexy. I can do these without fear of the kids overhearing. Actually, my 6 year old came down one day when I was doing a squat burner and said “Mommy, can she see you?”. “No, honey, why?”. “Well then why did she say ‘good job’?” 🙂 You’re friendly and lovely!

    I have kind of a weird question and doing the straight-legged exercises brought it to mind: My hips click during some exercised that require full extension of the leg (like the part with both legs straight in this set, or using a fitness tree for abs with extending legs down and bringing them up with knees bent. Any ideas why? Or how to fix it? Thanks!

    Well, it’s 2 and a half years since I last left a comment and I’m STILL doing this video (occasionally still even on the kitchen floor). Even my physiotherapist likes me doing this because it’s so helpful for my back.
    Thank you for your great, simple, and quick workouts!
