Come here, goats

Sup bloggies 🙂 How’s your night been? I’m so stoked for the weekend!!! Anything fun planned?? I think the girls and I are going out for drinks and dinner tomorrow night and  on Saturday, the commander’s wife is going to a local dairy farm– I really hope I can go with her. I love baby goats…

“Come here, little goats. I’ll trade you this bucket of food for some cheese”

Fresh goat cheese would make my life right about now 🙂

Today, I walked the fur children:

(Love Viessy’s bushy squirrel tail)

Devoured a mountain of sweet potato rounds (with paprika, sea salt and cayenne)

Took a little snooze (I’m a firm believer in siestas and take a small nap/rest almost every day),

had a smoothie:

and made some dinner.

A giant salad beast:

Chard, arugula, mixed greens, spiralized beet, basil, raw goat cheddar (if it weren’t for goat cheese I could probably be vegan… but I can’t get enough), Organicville Balsamic dressing and garlic gold (fellow garlic lovahs, stay tuned for an awesome dragon-breath promo next week!)

And leftover eggplant curry:

I could eat Indian food every. single. day.

Just caught up on Private Practice via the DVR and am going to call it an early night- I’m meeting with my Lifestyle Challenge group and for once, I have no idea what I’m going to talk about. We’ve already gone over a LOT (fitness/weight loss myths, importance of ridding processed foods, nutrient-dense foods to focus on, eating and fitness plans) so I was thinking of having a “pick my brain sesh” and maybe showing them some new workout moves? We shall see!

Have a lovely night and I’ll see ya in the morning <3

xoxo,

Gina

I’m a big believer in siestas, too! Too bad I never get any time for one. Boooo.

  2. Mara @ What's For Dinner? on April 15, 2010 at 9:22 pm

LOVE siestas! I wish our schedule was like the one in spain with a nap every day. I could use it!

Maybe over the summer, I’ll invest in some overnight shipping and send you some fresh local goat cheese… its so freaking amazing!

    • Fitnessista on April 15, 2010 at 9:23 pm

ghhhh! that would be GLORIOUS. i’ll pay the shipping 🙂

I just got some local blueberry-ginger goat cheese from the farmer’s market last weekend. It’s absolutely heavenly!!!!

I’m having a nationality-identity crisis. I had eggplant curry today as well and planning to have Indian on both Saturday and Sunday, and I can shake my booty better than any latina girl in my zumba class. I swear I’m not Dutch and German.

  4. Tracey @ I'm Not Superhuman on April 15, 2010 at 9:42 pm

I’m all for siestas, too. I just can’t figure out how to make them happen in my life. Snoozing at my desk is not really appreciated. 🙂

Ugh I wish I was capable of taking naps! I love the looks of that smoothie…and the glass straw. I love drinking with a straw, I just got a “to-go” cold beverage cup with a screw top and straw= best purchase of my life. Now I can take my monsters and fresh juices to go! Have a great night!

  11. Diane on April 15, 2010 at 10:09 pm

Your hair looks awesome in the first pic! & I agree, I’d be vegan if it wasn’t for cheese. And greek yogurt 😉

    • Katherine on April 15, 2010 at 10:26 pm

      I’ll third that notion

  12. Katherine on April 15, 2010 at 10:26 pm

If I want to find a group like that in my area, where should I start looking?
    Thanks! Katherine

I love naps too, they have to be the perfect amount of time though – too long and I am a zombie the rest of the day!

    • Fitnessista on April 16, 2010 at 7:41 am

that’s so true. i just need like 20-30 minutes and then i feel refreshed 🙂

  22. Michelle T on April 16, 2010 at 8:13 am

Hi Gina I had a question about the eggplant curry.. when it comes out of the crock pot is the eggplant mushy from cooking for hours? Random I know but just wondering!

    • Fitnessista on April 16, 2010 at 9:41 am

I am not a napper, but I totally understand that some people are and get re-energized! The salad looks wonderful 😀

  25. Jessica on April 16, 2010 at 9:11 am

I love baby goats too! We have sheep, and the new born lambs are so precious. Any baby animal melts my heart.

  26. Catherine on April 16, 2010 at 9:12 am

Oooh do I smell a garlicky giveaway coming soon???

Your Indian food is making me drool… I made some last night! A little late for Indian Food Thursday (due to me not reading directions on soaking the beans), but it was so freakin good and inspired by your Indian Food Wednesdays, so I wanted to give you a shout out!!

  27. Paige (Running Around Normal) on April 16, 2010 at 9:20 am

Aww, that picture of you and the goats is so cute?
Sounds like you had a great day yesterday! Have fun tonight with your girlfriends!

  28. Karen on April 16, 2010 at 9:30 am

How about a talk to your group about “motivation” and the issue of falling off the wagon. This months Oxygen mag has 6 minute workout – great for the days when things happen and you have a “go to” plan – if you want more after 6 minutes you can do the circuit another time or two. IOW – what is your plan for when good intentions waver or good intentions go down the tubes.

  29. Melissa (MelissaLikesToEat) on April 16, 2010 at 11:08 am

I agree…I could eat Indian food every day too!!
We have family here this weekend….it’s my son’s 5th birthday today!
