Crabby high five

Hey guys!

016

We had a seafood FEAST in our casa last night 😀

The pilot and I picked up a ton of seafood at Publix yesterday and decided to do lobster, shrimp and crab legs on the grill.

I made some veggie packs with zucchini, squash, onions, tomatoes, eggplant, asparagus, olive oil, sea salt, pepper and rosemary

 007

The pilot threw the veggie packs on the grill along with shrimp skewers, crab legs and lobster tails. The shrimp were seasoned with olive oil, paprika, sea salt, pepper and HOT SAUCE (yeahhh!) while the lobster tails were basted with a marinade of olive oil, lemon juice, chives, paprika, garlic, sea salt and pepper.

011

We also had some grilled balsamic portobello mushroom caps

And 3 lbs of grilled crab legs

012

Here’s my seafood plate:

013

(+ 2 crab legs)

and my veggie plate:

014

The pilot thought that Megan and I were going to be super dainty trying to get the meat out of the crab legs. He was shocked when we went after those things like a couple of barbarians 😀 After he took this pic, we high-fived with our crab covered hands. We’re classy like that 😉

015

There were crab particles flying all over the house! Quite the party 😀

After dinner, I had a lovely seafood baby and we watched Next Food Network Star. We went to bed pretty early and woke up to the sounds of Bella getting sick.. on the bed. Needless to say, I didn’t sleep much last night. (She’s feeling much better now and is feasting on dog food as I type this, so I think she’s fine). We gave the puppies a couple of the pilot’s new potatoes and I’m thinking they didn’t agree with her. Once, Viesa ate an ENTIRE yellow cake (while I was taking a shower) and didn’t get sick at all. Go figure, eh?

I had the standard green juice:

001

And admired the beautiful flowers from my pilot 😀

002

Now I’m just chilling, about to make a spin CD and off to teach aerobics class #1 for the day.

Hope you all have a happy Monday! See ya this afternoon with a Summer Shape Up post! It’s the LAST week of the challenge!

Cheers,

G

The seafood feast + the flowers = amazing! I'm glad that Bella got that bug out of her so fast… it sounds like she's the dainty one! 🙂

p.s. Instead of princess, my word to verify was "proncess." Hmm…

    Hi Gina,

It looks like you are starting or at least trying to have just juice and fruit for breakfast. I thought in a previous post you stated you needed more substance and didn't quite agree with this part of the raw lifestyle (and maybe I am wrong. Maybe I am remembering incorrectly). Can you talk a little bit about this…is it making you feel better to eat just fruid and juice? I am curious as I am having a hard time converting to just juice and fruit. Any comments, suggestions and encouragement would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Stephanie

Looks like a fabulous feast! And such beautiful flowers, too! Hmmmmm, I think I need to have a seafood night in the near future. Thanks for the craving!

I was watching a baseball game last night and heard something or other about a player being from Valdosta and instantly thought of YOU! I didn't even hear who the baseball player was, I just thought GINA! LOL It was funny! You blog-celebrity you!! LOL

Have a great Monday, doll! Love ya!

I LOVE seafood, but don't know that I'd be brave enough to do the crab legs and lobster tail on the grill. Looks yummy, though!

looks like a fun time. The thing with crab legs is they're more work than anything to me. It's rarely worth it.

Yum! Can you explain how to grill lobster and crab legs? How do you know when they're done?
I'm always looking for new stuff to grill because I love to grill but generally don't eat red meat.
My favorite this summer has been mahi mahi with red onions and a curry rub, and chicken skewers with pineapple, peppers, onion, and tomatoes.

OMG you are hardcore with that seafood! I'm too wimpy – I don't like working on my dinner after it's on my plate, haha… I'm so impressed!

Oh G, I had a little puppy who can sick yesterday, as well. Ickkkk, though he was kind enough to do it on the wood floor, versus the rug. Nice of him:)

Hope the puppster is all better and you get some sleep.

  22. Emily on July 20, 2009 at 1:46 pm

Yum, I just had some crab legs the other week – so good but so messy!

  23. Menden @ Skinny Menny on July 20, 2009 at 1:48 pm

Yum, that seafood feast looks amazing! I looooove crab legs, and all the work that goes into eating them is totally worth it!

  24. Veganissexy on July 20, 2009 at 1:51 pm

That is an impressive feast! Wowzers. My husband catches boatloads of crab out here in Port Angeles and it is always so funny to watch him eat it. I make him spread newspaper on the table and underneath because it gets so messy. He definitely eats like a king! You gals had a queen's feast though….complete with the flowers! Lovely!

  25. Kristi (sweet cheeks) on July 20, 2009 at 1:53 pm

Love the pics, Gina!! Looks like my kind of party! 🙂

Hope your classes go well today!

  26. Amanda (Panda) on July 20, 2009 at 1:58 pm

I LOVE me some crab legs too! My husband and I got married on the beach and I have never eaten so many crab legs in my life as on our honeymoon and I still love them to this day! This post totally makes me want some! 😀

Oooooh nooooo!! Puppies sick on the bed is NEVER a good wake up call 🙁 Sorry to hear about that!

Glad you guys went at it with the seafood fest – showed them who was boss!
