Crossing to the Dark Side

Hi friends <3 How are ya? Hope you’re having a great day so far! I’m so stoked you loved the Pilot’s guest post– he’s kind of amazing Winking smile It was a lovely surprise to wake up to his post this morning.

bella

Bright and early, I took a ballet class. Holy thighs and buns. It was glorious Open-mouthed smile

I was so glad to replace the morning’s pack of Via with a green juice:

green juice

-one stalk/head/thing of romaine

-one organic cucumber

-one green apple

-1/2 lemon

-spirulina

Same amount of energy minus the caffeine. I just need to stop being lazy about cleaning the juicer- it’s one of the only reasons why I haven’t juiced lately Winking smile

Post dance, I munched some brown rice toast with goat cream cheese, eggs and salsa:

toast

(eggs and salsa are a match made in heaven)

and packed up a three course meal Smile

pack

Leftover soup from the other night:

lunch

Fennel, green apple, and onion salad with balsamic and Garlic Gold

salad

CAT FOOD

tuna

(aka tuny, with hummus, Dijon mustard, tomatoes, kalamata olives and oregano)

and a goat brie wedge Smile

lunch (2)

In theory, it was the perfect lunch. The only thing to taint it was the fact that I didn’t screw on the lid to the cat food tuna all the way. Um yeah.

Stinky. But so delicious Smile

So today, I’m crossing over to the dark side and replacing the beloved Crackberry with an iPhone. I can use the iPhone to complete credit card transactions and it will make life a little easier. I’ve avoided getting an iPhone FOREVER because I don’t like the keypad (I like actual keys instead of a screen), but the Pilot has always had one and loves it. I am pretty stoked about the apps, though!

Team Crackberry or iPhone? Any apps you’re crazy about?

What’s your favorite stinky food? haha

I’m back to work. See ya in the morning!!

xoxo

Gina

Team iPhone! I never thought I’d go to a full touch screen either, but I got used to it quickly so it wasn’t a hard adjustment. My favorite/most used apps are google (for google reader & news), the weather channel, facebook, and pandora!

I have had the iPod touch for years now after having a blackberry for work. I didn’t like the keypad at first but before long I couldn’t live without the IPod. We are with Verizon & can’t wait to get the new iPhone! 😉 My dad works for Appe so I’ve been a fan for awhile. 😉

  7. Tamara on January 13, 2011 at 11:19 pm

G’izzle…I loved my Blackberry but switched to an iPhone. I hated every second of it and within a month I was back in the arms of my beloved BB. I hope it works out better for you…but, I have a feeling you’ll be back 🙂

  8. Raya on January 13, 2011 at 11:27 pm

  18. Amanda @ JustAmandaJ on January 14, 2011 at 6:38 am

Hah I totally call my tuna lunches cat food too! Probably doesn’t help that my cats will come and yell at me when I open the can…

Woot for the iphone! I’ve had one for three years now and LOVE it!

  19. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on January 14, 2011 at 7:45 am

Haha I can totally relate to not wanting to clean your blender. I haven’t used my new food processor yet because I don’t want to clean it! 😛

    • Fitnessista on January 14, 2011 at 9:42 am

haha! i dont mind cleaning the vitamix at all, but cleaning the juicer is a BEAST 🙂

  20. Niamh on January 14, 2011 at 7:56 am

I always love your posts! Food looks delicious as usual.

I’m extremely lazy in regards to cleaning blenders and food processors! I’m just glad I’m not the only one.

I’m team crackberry all the way! I have an iTouch though and I do love it. Compared to other touch phones, iPhones are easier to use. Hope you enjoy using it anyway! 🙂

Eggs and salsa are one of my favorite combos too! You just reminded me that I haven’t had it in a long time… I need to fix that soon. And I have Verizon, so right now I’m on the Blackberry but in a few weeks when they release the Verizon Iphone, I’ll (hopefully) be getting one! I’m so excited. I’ve been jealous of my friends’ Iphones for a while now!

  22. JavaChick on January 14, 2011 at 9:34 am

I am not a phone person at all – I’m pretty much phone-phobic – but I love my iPhone because I can do so much with it!

I enjoy tuna, but I have to share with my cats or I’d be in mortal danger. 🙂

  23. another girl in tucson on January 14, 2011 at 9:47 am

  24. maria on January 14, 2011 at 10:01 am

    IPHONE allllll the way!
    You will love it.
I have a BB for work and like a fool i am always trying to touch the screen to select things.
Once you get used to the on screen keypad you will be in love forever and ever 😉

  25. Jenna@frombostonwithlove on January 14, 2011 at 10:29 am

A new iphone owner myself, I initially had my reservations about giving up my bb. And plus I didn’t want to join the cult movement that is apple. But I have to say I love it. It is hands down so functional and really does make my life easier.

Stinky foods I hear are cooked cabbage and anything garlic!

  26. Wendy on January 14, 2011 at 10:44 am

I purchased some spirulina, but just can’t stand the taste – do you have any suggestions on getting used to it?

  27. Fallon on January 14, 2011 at 11:32 am

If my food is stinky I won’t eat it, but give me stinky cheese and I love it!

  28. AJ on January 14, 2011 at 11:57 am

I have verizon and I’m pretty stoked about the iphone. My one fear is that if I get one, I will be THAT person who is constantly on their phone! Ahhh! But who am I kidding. I’m sure I’ll get one when the price comes down a bit, maybe a year?

  29. danifitness on January 14, 2011 at 2:30 pm

Your meals look amazing. I love to fennel, apple, and onion salad. That is a perfect combination that I would have never thought of. I also saw these amazing tasting dressing on ToneItUp’s website that actually are made to burn fat!!! It is awesome because normally the dressing is the most fattening part of a salad.

  30. mama on January 14, 2011 at 4:59 pm

Poor Bella looks so cold, does she wear a sweater during the day or night? or just a coat for walks? I have a yorkie and keep a sweater on him most of the time because he is so cold and curls up in a ball like Bella!

    • Fitnessista on January 14, 2011 at 7:33 pm

she doesn’t wear one in the house, but i put her jacket on when we go outside. we keep the heater on in the house, but maybe she’s cold?

  31. Wendy Heath? on January 15, 2011 at 4:13 pm
