Dancing on tables

Hey everyone! Hope you’re having a happy Saturday 😀

We’re having a blasty in Orlando so far. *sigh* I want to live here!

We stopped at Bizzle and I got a Refresh tea before we went to watch my cousin’s hip hop dance team:

tea

So fresh, so minty 🙂

After we watched her break it down at halftime at her HS’s varsity game, we went to one of my favorite spots for dinner:

OPA!

pilot

We got the beautiful hummus appetizer:

hummus

(I just ate the hummus)

And I had a cosmo:

cosmo

I usually opt for vino over the fruity drinks, but when I’m with my auntie, I always get a fun drink instead of wine 🙂

An AMAZING greek salad with goat cheese instead of feta:

salad

and steamed wild greens with lemon:

spinach

They were pretty much dripping in olive oil, but I killed it anyway 🙂

I also may have gotten crunk on the table, which is the Opa standard.

crunk

It was such a blasty to hang with the familia. I haven’t mentioned it much through the bloggy, but everyone has kinda been through the ringer this past week. Since my family member’s accident, we’ve all been so worried about him… of course he’s going to be ok, but I just love him so much.

Opa is located in a shopping center, so I stopped into VS and got some sweats and T-shirts.

rawr

All in all, a fabulous night 🙂

We’re off to the gym (ZUMBA!!!! x2) then spending the day at Disney.

See ya soon!

Much love,

G$
Today’s tip: Take vacays as an excuse to try something new in your workout! Take a fun class, run a new trail or check out a local yoga studio 😀

Wow sounds like you’re having a fun time in Orlando. Love VS too, pity they don’t have it here, their sports clothes are cool along with their Love Pink collection, such fun clothes. Enjoy Disney later.

Morning! I would love a little bit of retail therapy right about now. Our small island does not offer much in that regard – bummer!

    Have fun at Disney today.

I’m definitely hitting up the VS for some new sweats next paycheck… I’m desperate, AND we have “wear your sweats to school” day in a couple weeks!

  14. Michelle on January 30, 2010 at 11:09 am

I absolutely love taking advantage of the opportunity for new workouts during vacay! Running on the beach, new trails, or take a class they offer such as body pump!

I do have a question, and I know you aren’t a doctor, but I would love your insight. I recently have eased into eating raw, and had little headaches/dizziness for a couple of days, could this be from “detoxing” from all the bad food I used to eat?

  15. Becky on January 30, 2010 at 11:19 am

What Disney Parks are you going to? I just started an Internship at Disney, maybe I’ll see you! Haha.

Have fun at Disney!!!!! We didn’t get to go when we were there earlier this month because it was so cold and a little $$….esp since I’ve been 4 times already.

  27. Fit Lizzio on January 30, 2010 at 12:28 pm

ive been meaning to ask you…why do you choose goat dairy over cow dairy?? are there added benefits?

    • Fitnessista on January 31, 2010 at 12:25 am

      hey girl,
i opt for goat dairy because it’s easier to find vegetarian -many cow’s cheeses contain animal rennet, which isn’t vegetarian- and it’s also easier for the body to digest.
also, it tastes better to me 😀

Hi G! I just checked up on you this week and am so sorry it has taken me so long to express my thoughts and prayers for your family member. I’m so glad that he’s alright and am thinking of all of you.

Hope you’re able to enjoy your day at Disney. How fun! I need to make a stop at VS sometime soon, too. I got a gift card for Christmas that’s begging to be used!

  36. Destiny on January 30, 2010 at 6:42 pm

    Hi Gina,

i have been a lurker for some time now, i recently found you and another food blog called “Raya Runs” and became addicted!!! I was wondering, I read through your journey and I had a few questions. Slowly, my borfriend and I are on the journey to eating healthier we are beginning to weed out white bread, rice etc. I was wondering was it hard for you to drop your last 20 pounds? What did you do to make sure you kept on losing weight? You look absolutely stunning and your story so inspires me! I am wrestiling with the last 20 pounds and they are hard! But reading blogs like yours encourages me to push on both in losing weight and eating healthier. I am already in decent shape, i can run 4 miles in 40ish minutes and I can lift heavier weights than my friends that are both skinnier and look more buff than me! Any tips, advice, hints you can give me would be amazing! Thank you so much for your blog!

    • Fitnessista on January 31, 2010 at 12:23 am

      hey destiny,
thanks so much for saying hi 😀
as far as the last 20 lbs, it took a little bit longer than the first 20, but slowly and surely the weight kept coming off. consistency is the most important thing- if you stick in there, it will happen!
      xoxo

    Hi gina,
Enjoy your vacation with your family….i’m so jealous. 🙂
A question popped in my head- I know u prepare dinner for both you and the pilot. How about his breakfast and lunch? :)…..i was taking a nap and this question popped in my head…funny!.

    • Fitnessista on January 31, 2010 at 12:22 am

      hey geetha!
that’s a good question 🙂 for bfast, the pilot is on his own (he usually grabs a bar, oatmeal or pancakes on base), and for lunch he has one of three things:
      1. leftovers
      2. a meat sandwich and a pb&j sandwich with crackers and fruit or
      3. thai takeout from the place across the street from base

  38. Jessica @ WHY DONTCHA RUN on January 30, 2010 at 8:45 pm

Have a blast! I so wish I could go on a run with you while you’re here, but I’m not quite that advanced yet. 😉 I’ll get there though, I’m workin’ my little heart (and legs) out. Have a nice time in Orlando and a safe trip back home!

  39. Erin (Travel, Eat, Repeat) on January 30, 2010 at 9:16 pm

Looks like a fun day! I love cosmos during a special night out — I usually stick to wine but sometimes for a special occasion… 😉

  40. Jessie @ thehappinessinhealth on January 30, 2010 at 9:21 pm

I usually prefer wine, too, but it’s nice to have a fruity drink once in a while :). I’m so glad your family member is ok.
