Discount Shopping Sites

Not to boast or anything, but I’m kind of an online shopping ninja.

It’s actually one of the reasons why the blog was born… I was online shopping (again), bored in Valdosta one day and the Pilot told me I needed a hobby.

Anyway,

after years of practice I’ve become a pro. It’s so convenient, you don’t have to get dressed and fight for a parking spot, and the goodies magically appear on your doorstep. It really is a beautiful thing 🙂

The greatest thing to happen in online shopping was the emergence of online discount sites, offering special deals on designer fabulousness, which you can sign up to have the deals delivered to your inbox.

Some of my faves:

Shop It To Me

(Today’s deal: 7 for all Mankind jeans for 40% off! I swoon and die)

Swirl by DailyCandy

(always lots of great deals to choose from- today it’s Autumn Cashmere, Mason Cash + others)

HauteLook

Some other sites I’ve heard great things about:

Ruelala

Ideeli

The Sample Sale

My Habit

The only cons about these sites, as with online shopping in general, is difference in sizes. It’s a good idea to buy brands that you’ve tried before and know your size, unless you don’t mind returning (which can be kind of a pain, but in the grand scheme of things can be worth it if you got a steal!).

Do you use online discount sites?

What’s your fave?

xoxo

Gina

Thanks for the info! Never heard of those sites before.

Ever since I discovered some of these sites, I found that I have a serious shopping problem! Haha! The deals that you get on these sites are amazing…how can you NOT buy it! 🙂 I’ve found most of my favorite clothing through Hautelook and Ruelala, but I’m definitely adding some of the these to my list!

Love shop it to me! I also like http://www.gilt.com/, http://nomorerack.com/, and I am absolutely obsessed with group coupon purchase sites like groupon.com, socialliving.com, etc.

  4. L on May 23, 2011 at 5:18 pm

I have a TON of sites that I follow and receive emails from daily. It finally occurred me to make a list!

Gilt.com is great too. I usually order from Ruelala or Gilt.

  6. BrookeC on May 23, 2011 at 5:29 pm

Beyond the Rack is a good one too. 🙂

NOMORERACK.COM love love love online shopping! It even becomes that more convienent with babies:)

  8. Sara @BakingandWine on May 23, 2011 at 5:37 pm

I actually HATE online shopping. I can’t do it. I absolutely have to try something on before I buy it.

    • Ginna on May 23, 2011 at 7:46 pm

I agree. I think if you have a petite body shape you can basically buy online with no fear. I have to try clothes on. I have a big bust and bigger arms so things always fit differently on my body type. You are lucky you can shop online Gina!

Love these sites! They get me in trouble! Just be sure of the return policy before ordering, since some items are non-returnable! Beyond the Rack is another one.

I usually only buy clothes online if I’ve tried it on before “in real life” and am trying to score a better deal or something that is in my size that they didn’t have at the store.

“Not to boast or anything, but I’m kind of an online shopping ninja.”-
Girl. When I was living in Myrtle Beach, SC (and for two yrs before than in NC) there was no shopping…sorry, Belk and JC Penny as the anchor stores of the malls don’t count as shopping for me 🙂 and I was the online shopping queen!! I mean, it was kinda a crime but it sure was fun!

Now, I dont shop online for clothes really and the irony is that i dont buy that much anymore even in stores. What can I say, I am totally frugal and take my “blow it money” and blow it on photography stuff and kitchen gadgets 🙂

I’m an outdoor fashionista…www.sierratradingpost.com has awesome deals on all things outdoors! 🙂

  13. Jeannette on May 23, 2011 at 5:56 pm

    I’d also recommend Ebates: http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=DWaTP3RlmCox1nhEU6MCiA%3D%3D
You actually earn cash back on all that online purchasing! I’ve gotten back about $20 so far this year, so I can attest that it actually works! It isn’t much, but it’s something, plus they have lots of coupon code in there too!

Oh- I was just on Rue La La today! Funny.

  15. Colleen on May 23, 2011 at 6:16 pm

I love ruelala and the thrill of the hunt–gotta check it right at 11 am and snag the goods before they are gone! I just bought these shoes today from The Shoes We Want Now: http://www.ruelala.com/event/product/31816/1311693912/0/DEFAULT

Another good site for discounted outdoorsy/workout stuff is http://www.steepandcheap.com. If you see something you want though, buy it right away because the deals change every few hours. I bought a north face rain coat for 70% off in the fall!

I am horrible at online shopping, mostly because I would consider my style “busy Mom who is getting smaller and doesn’t know how to dress for her new size chiq.” I will definately start stalking some of these websites though as I try to develop my inner fashonista.

  17. kristi (sweet cheeks) on May 23, 2011 at 6:25 pm

I’m definitely checking these out! THANK YOU!!!

  18. Kristina @ spabettie on May 23, 2011 at 6:50 pm

yes, I love to shop and Jason actually brags to people that I am really good at it – telling people “you want something and cannot find it?? Kris will find it for you!” 🙂

I love them all, the ones I actually buy most from are Swirl and Gilt. LOVE getting packages in the mail!

I have a love/hate relationship with Haute Look and Beyond the Rack. I love them for their awesome deals but hate them for tempting me into spending money I shouldn’t be spending :p

    • Fitnessista on May 23, 2011 at 7:05 pm

      they’re definitely enablers.

  20. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on May 23, 2011 at 8:14 pm

I get so tempted to shop online, but I hate buying things without trying them on first!

  21. Mary @ Bites and Bliss on May 23, 2011 at 8:33 pm

Thank you SO much for this!! I only shop sales, online or off so this is really great.

  22. Kelly on May 24, 2011 at 9:27 am

I just had a terrible experience with ideeli! They overcharged me for my purchase and when I looked online to find their phone number, I discovered they don’t have one! You can’t call them! You have to email or live chat. When I finally found a phone number via Google, their phone just rang and rang. It just all seemed really sketchy to me. Eventually it all got settled, but it was a major waste of my time and energy.
Sorry for the negative review, I just feel like shoppers should be forewarned!

    • Fitnessista on May 24, 2011 at 9:28 am

      good to know- thank you!

  23. Kandyce on May 24, 2011 at 10:07 am

I actually enjoy using ideeli a lot more than hautelook.
