Disney and weekend adventures

Hi! Hope you had an amazing weekend. Here are some pics from ours 🙂

I could get used to the fact that Disneyland is only an hour and a half away! The Pilot was working, so Liv and I took a road trip to meet up with some cousins. We got in around 8:30, and you could see the park from our hotel room. Livi ran up to the window saying, “Disneyland! I see it! Minnie! I see her! I’m so excited!”

As you can imagine, we slept really well 😉

The next morning, we enjoyed a little breakfast and took the shuttle to California Adventure, home of the Disney Junior show, which is Liv’s absolute favorite. We could go just to see the show and the parades, and she would be a happy kid indeed.

We went to California Adventure, Disneyland, rode some rides, ate some amazing food, and got back on the road to San Diego.

The Pilot and Liv at her school picnic:

(The parents all brought side dishes, the school provided veggie burgers and beef burgers, beverages, jumping candles, and the kids sang for all of the parents. In a nutshell, it was super cute)

Sushi Saturday:

(We ate at The Joint and LOVED it. They offer a crazy awesome sushi and tapas menu, in addition to 30-something beers on draft, great wine list and a fun atmosphere. I highly recommend the Granny’s Grinds roll, even though everything we enjoyed was delicious.)

Some food prep for the week:

What was the highlight of your weekend? Did you plan and prep today? We hit the jackpot at Trader Joe’s with organic berries, and I chopped veggies, made muffins, granola, and got some staples to have while nana and mom are here this week. I’ll probably start dinosaur crying as soon as I see their faces.

Have a great night <3

xoxo

The Joint is awesome! I’m jealous. I had to work today. Prepping for a meeting tomorrow. That was a bummer, but I still got in my exercise 10 miles this morning and did my meal prepping yesterday. I had to do a little rearranging to accommodate getting work done but it worked out! I love Disneyland. I’m convinced you’re never to old to go.

Love kids’ excitement over Disney! My son also loves the Disney Junior show. It’s a fun one! Cute pic of the Pilot and Livi!

There was no big highlight of my weekend–I just enjoyed a nice time hanging around the house with the family, spending lots of time outdoors enjoying the sunshine. 🙂

We just went to Disneyland a few weeks ago and had a blast! My little guy loved the Disney Jr. show too but got a little scared of the pirates. He is such a scaredy cat! I’m with Liv, the parades are the best part!

I love getting food prep done on Sundays! This week I made Chipotle Sweet Potato Black Bean Burgers, a double batch of your quinoa pancakes, and chopped veggies for fish tacos and the curried lentils recipe from this last winter workout meal plan. YUM!

OMG I remember that frozen lemonade! It was probably one of the best parts of my trip to Disney as a child. Yum! They even came out with a raspberry one at one point. Looks like you had an amazing time! 🙂

We are taking my three year old to Disneyland in a few weeks. Just wanted to see what we could reasonable fit in one day- we have about a 2 hour drive. He is a Jake the pirate fan. What did the Disney junior show include? Do you recommend it?Did you have to pay admission to both? I am not familar with California adventure- is it’s right near Disneyland park?

Sorry for all the questions! Just though someone with a small child migh have good insight for a day trip.

    Hi Gina,

I work in Orange County and in the hotel industry. Let me know if you want to take advantage of my friends/family discount, I’ll be more than happy to check for the availability for you.

Just let me know ahead of time for your visit at Disney. One of these days, maybe we will run into you at Disney. We are currently blocked because of summer season, but by end of August, our annual pass is valid again.

    Lea
