Fave Fashion Blogs

If you asked me to name off some healthy living or fitness blogs, I could rattle off quite a few. I love reading blogs, especially checking out new ones, and have a lot of friends in the healthy living/fitness blogger world.

Ask me about fashion blogs and I could rattle off… err, maybe 5?

The thing I’ve noticed about fashion blogs is that some are wayyyyy out there

[All fall 2011 “trends”.. all scary]

or feature pieces that are totally out of a normal person’s budget.

As much as I like your $3,000 handbag, it sadly will not feed me for the next 2 years 😉

The 3 fashion blogs I tend to read the most, are:

1) J’s Everyday Fashion

 image

I actually had the chance to meet J a few times when I lived in Orlando, and she’s just as gorgeous and sweet as you would imagine her to be.

[J is on my left]

I love her blog because she shops at the mall –no crazy hard-to-find boutique items- and sticks to very reasonable shopping budget. She also gave me the idea to copy looks I see in magazines and make them my own.

2) Cupcakes and Cashmere

Emily created a site with the best of the fashion world and the best of the food blog world put together- her blog is pretty much amazeballz. She posts how-tos, beautiful food and fashion photography, outfits and recipes.

The only bummer is that 99.97% of the outfits she posts are things I wouldn’t be able to get away with in Tucson. The sense of style here is very laid-back, and while I can dress up to go out at night, during the day it’s pretty casual (more J Crew, Express-type stuff). I still like to read her blog and dream of how I would dress if I lived in LA 😉

3) The Pregnant Fashionista

I’m loving this blog right now because I’m having a rough time dressing myself and this has been a lovely help 😉 Also, Caroline posts heads-up on awesome deals and sales- thanks to her, I have a lovely Rosie Pope floral dress on the way 🙂

Do you read fashion blogs? What are your faves??

I love Karla’s Kloset and Sea of Shoes– just for fashion inspiration 🙂 Karla is especially cool– I would never be able to dress like her or afford her clothes, but it’s still so fun and pretty to look at 🙂

  2. The Healthy Hipster on August 26, 2011 at 6:06 pm

The Sartorialist. Hands down. I also read lookbook.nu for everyday street style ideas. But that said…my fashion tends to be a little more “out there” anyhow 😉
    Great for inspiration though.

    favorites:

    atlantic-pacific.blogspot.com

all very different and all very inspirational!

  4. Dana Marie on August 26, 2011 at 6:08 pm

The sartorialist – it’s less of a text fashion blog and more of photographer’scapturing of fashionable – or fashion notable – or just interesting looking people http://www.thesartorialist.com/
also – the Selby is rad – also more just a photographer blog featuring interesting people with unique style

  5. Ryan on August 26, 2011 at 6:08 pm

    I love http://www.thebudgetbabe.com

    She throw’s Tar-jay in to the mix….lurve

  6. Sabrina on August 26, 2011 at 6:10 pm

I thought I was the only one that read pregnant fashionista! I found it via a google search last summer and am addicted- even though she doesn’t post that often.

I WISH I could pull off some of the clothes she features, but I definitely can’t.

  7. Hillary on August 26, 2011 at 6:12 pm

J’s blog is definitely my favorite fashion blog—her ideas are so clear and easy—and accessible!

  8. The Teenage Taste on August 26, 2011 at 6:12 pm

I’m definitely checking out these blogs. I’m always looking for fashion advice! 😉

  9. Laura @ prettylittlewords on August 26, 2011 at 6:12 pm

Ahh, I love Cupcakes and Cashmere!

  10. Kelly on August 26, 2011 at 6:16 pm

I love the first two you listed and also, Kendi Everyday. You should check her out!

  11. Brianna on August 26, 2011 at 6:25 pm

Your top two are my absolute FAVVVVV fashion blogs, everything they lay out is awesome and esp. the pointers so I can pull it off too!!

  12. kara on August 26, 2011 at 6:26 pm

i just discovered J and love her! her blog is so accessible and relatable (i could have sworn that’s a word. you know what i mean). i can’t do kendi.. just too much for me. checking out cupcakes and cashmere now!!

  13. Casey @ Pocket Full of Sunshine on August 26, 2011 at 6:32 pm

Kendi Everyday is a great one! I love J too. 🙂

  14. Laura J. on August 26, 2011 at 6:43 pm

Kendi Everyday is one of my faves! Half my Pinterest is filled with her amazing outfits!

  15. Shayla @ The Good Life on August 26, 2011 at 6:46 pm

The only fashion blog I read is J’s and I absolutely love it! She’s inspired me to break out of my comfort zone and in fact she was the one who got me to embrace skinny jeans! I’ve also gotten a lot of belting tips from her 🙂

  16. AshleyP on August 26, 2011 at 6:48 pm

I love You, Me and Anthropologie, Mix and Match Fashion and Shopping with M….these all skew a little more professional than J’s Everyday Fashion (I think she tries, but everything seems a little tight and short for my life- not in a mean way, just different). I just discovered pregnant fashionista and I love it!! Even though I’m not there yet, myself!

  17. Mary (What's Cookin' with Mary) on August 26, 2011 at 6:52 pm

Just spent the last 30 minutes (accidentally haha) looking through J’s blog and added it to my reader. Love.

  18. Carrie on August 26, 2011 at 6:56 pm

A couple I really enjoy are Kendi Everyday and See Jane.

  19. Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga on August 26, 2011 at 7:13 pm

I don’t read tons of fashion blogs but I do read photography blogs and home decor blogs.

Although 3+ years ago I started reading food blogs… Kath’s, Jenna’s, Tina’s, and YOURS were some of the first I ever read :)…fast forward now and I am much more about things OTHER than food blogs…like photography, decorating, and fashion.

I’ve been diversifying my google reader 🙂

    Love your picks!

  20. Julia on August 26, 2011 at 7:31 pm

Atlantic-Pacific, Sterling Style, Glitter Guide, The Glamourai, The Man Repeller (very funny, kinda gross sometimes), Garance Dore, and The Sartorialist are all fabulous. So are Adored Austin and if you like to read in Spanish La Petite Nymphea. I heart fashion blogs.

  21. Erin @ The Grass Skirt on August 26, 2011 at 7:42 pm

I also like J’s Everyday because I have a lot of the same pieces. My favorite fashion blog is Kendie Everyday. http://kendieveryday.blogspot.com/ Her outfits are always so feminine, colorful, and classic.

  22. Seema on August 26, 2011 at 8:05 pm

I love fashion blogs! kendieveryday.blogspot.com and thedaybook.com are my two faves that I visit everyday 🙂

  23. Leea on August 26, 2011 at 8:19 pm

Oh thanks for the new fashion blogs I could browse. Just to let you know, everyone in LA doesn’t dress super trendy and if you want to you could rock all those fashion in Tuscon!

  24. Erin @ A Girl & Her Mutt on August 26, 2011 at 8:27 pm

I’m so glad you posted these! I have a love for Kendi and My Edit, but I’m loving these new sites. Thanks so much!

  25. Emma on August 26, 2011 at 8:32 pm

I don’t actually only read one fashion blog, unless you count yours and EatLiveRun’s…which I started reading for the food! But the one I read, I *love* – she’s very trendy, funky, has a great sense of style, and *some* of it, is affordable stuff. I use it more for inspiration than things I could actually do, and she’s awesome: http://atlantic-pacific.blogspot.com/

    Enjoy!

  26. Katie on August 26, 2011 at 8:41 pm

My favs are J`s and lovemeagan.com. But I have been branching out and just started reading cupcakes and cashmere, see jane and what the frock. Now I am going to check out all the new ones posted!

  27. Amber on August 26, 2011 at 8:57 pm

I like sugarlaws! She also posts fun videos too.

  28. Kayona on August 26, 2011 at 9:18 pm
  29. Brooke @ Tales of a Bride-To-Be on August 26, 2011 at 9:22 pm

Love cupcakes & cashmere! The how-to’s are the so helpful. Plus her photos of baked goods look oh so yummy!

  30. Carolyn on August 26, 2011 at 10:27 pm

J’s blog is awesome, I like that she shows her inspiration photo and goes into her thought process of creating a similar look for her. The only thing that would be better about her blog for me personally, is if we had a more similar body type. Some things that look legit amazeballz on her would look super crummy on me.
Is that my girl Raya on your right!!?

    • Fitnessista on August 26, 2011 at 11:41 pm

      yes that’s raya!

  31. Lexie on August 26, 2011 at 10:29 pm

My favorite fashion blog at this time is probably BeFrassy.com,

    Yeah, I have a problem 🙂

  33. J on August 27, 2011 at 12:33 am

Just want to add that Mrs. Fitnessista herself is also just as gorgeous and sweet in person as you would imagine her to be! 😉

  34. Ashlee on August 27, 2011 at 1:03 am

http://www.thechloeconspiracy.com/ – was the very first blog I started reading. She also has a sister site (See Chloe Shop) where discount codes/ sales are compiled and posted almost daily.

  35. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on August 27, 2011 at 7:37 am

I used to be obsessed with reading fashion blogs until I discovered food blogs… then I completely abandoned them and I haven’t read any in ages! 😛 Thanks for the recommendations!

  36. Chelsea on August 27, 2011 at 10:11 am

I totally know what you mean about dressing up in Tucson. I’m from Yuma and went to school in Orange County so it was hard to not want to get into all the trends and feel totally awkward wearing those clothes at home. Plus it’s too hot in the summer to even want to wear clothes at all and sweat through everything!

  37. Lindsey at Chick Flick Chic on August 27, 2011 at 11:59 am

um, so glad you blogged about this- i am loving reading these comments and want to check out some new blogs! i really love http://kendieveryday.blogspot.com/, in addition to the ones you mentioned!

  38. Melissa on August 27, 2011 at 12:29 pm

Love the Blonde Salad (www.theblondesalad.com/) and the Sartorialist 🙂 Like the cupcakes and cashmere blog you mentioned too. Have to add that to the list! 🙂

  42. katie on August 29, 2011 at 3:31 am

Like many of your readers, I love Kendi Everyday and also read http://www.jenloveskev.com (new mom too!), http://www.dearbabyblog.com (you have to check Melissa’s pregnant fashion shows… she rocked it) and I love this fashion / family blog – http://bleubirdvintage.typepad.com/blog/
    Enjoy!

  43. bojana on August 29, 2011 at 6:54 pm

What a great timing! Just today I got on a mission to find new fashion blogs – the season is changing and Pinterest is such a tease – so your post just kinda fell into my lap like an early christmas gift 😉

I will just add one of my favorites: http://lululetty.blogspot.com/ – she is very much into vintage style, but she makes it look fresh and cool 🙂

  44. Caity @ Moi Contre La Vie on August 30, 2011 at 8:48 am

I love the Sartorialist and Garance Dore (fashion power couple!) for gorgeous photographs and fun, inspirational street style, plus Tom & Lorenzo for hysterical, bitchy (finger snaps included) fashion commentary and Craig Arend’s Models Off Duty for great pre and post-show photos of the models. There are a million great sites out there, but those are definitely on my must-read list each morning!

  45. Brittany on August 30, 2011 at 3:19 pm

I love Cupcakes and Cashmere, J, Ramshackle Glam (kind of a fashion blog) and the Man Repeller (!!!!), but other than that, I don’t read too many fashion blogs on a regular basis. Although I am a life-long fashion slave, I can’t get into fashion blogs. I had a fashion + fitness + life blog a few years back, but because I was also in law school and working, I didn’t have much time to put into it. I’ve thought about resurrecting it and will probably do so in the next year. 🙂

  46. Valerie @ FreshMutz on August 30, 2011 at 5:48 pm

Thanks!!! Can’t wait to check out these blogs!!!

  47. Molly on August 31, 2011 at 5:29 pm

My sister designs for Rosie Pope! Hope you enjoy the dress. I love the clothes, but for now, appreciating them on others is the best way for me (not prego yet).

  48. Mandy A on September 3, 2011 at 10:51 pm

I am LOVING all of these new fashion blogs to check out!

I am huge fan of Kendi’s Everyday. She’s hilarious and makes me feel like fashion is do-able with affordable pieces.

One of my new favs I somehow found is http://www.thedaybookblog.com/ … she’s adorable (and pregnant, too, right now!) Just another suggestion I didn’t see here so far!

  49. Jen in MN on February 21, 2012 at 9:09 pm

http://aintnomomjeans.typepad.com/ is fantastic! Tons of ideas and resource for pregnancy, post-partum, and mom fashion!
