Flatbread Atrocity

Hey friends hey 🙂 How’s your morning going?? Loved reading your responses as to whether a TV should be banned from the bedroom. For now, I’m going to live it up, but when the Pilot is back, I’ll get rid of it.

The flatbread dough I made yesterday was half success, half fail.

flatbread

Fail because it crumbled apart when I removed it from the baking sheet and success because it tasted like foodgasms.

Topped with onions, shallot, shitake mushrooms, artichoke hearts, farmer’s market goat cheese and asparagus:

flatbread (2)

I enjoyed it the delicious flatbread atrocity with 2 scrambled eggs topped with nutritional yeast. Delish 🙂

We watched old episodes of Sex and the City (LOVE that E! is doing that), and I read American Wife in bed before crashing out. That book has SUCKED ME IN. Even when I’m exhausted, I see the Kindle peeking at me from the nightstand and I have to read a few pages… which turns into an hour. It’s that good 🙂

B-fast #1:

bfast

Coffee with Stevia, berries and a Larabar

I’m doing the workout thang with friends and will have a Sun Warrior shake waiting for me in the car 🙂

The plan:

-Conference call

-Workout

-Bank/Biznazz stuff

-Film this week’s WMOW (any requests??)

Macaroon giveaway (yep!)

Hope you have an amazing day <3

xoxo

Gina

    Hi Gina,
The flatbread looks awesome even if it’s a little crumbly—sometimes those flops turn out tasting the best!

For WMOW…I don’t have any requests…maybe that’s my prob, I’m just bored! So…something new and fun (funny and unique is always good too).

    Lovin’ the inspiration boards!

  7. Jessica @ How Sweet It Is on January 4, 2011 at 11:00 am

Maybe it’s something in the air! I tried a flatbread a few weeks ago (already have a recipe for one, but can never just be happy with one recipe) and it was a MESS!

My kindle sucks me in too. I swear I could get lost in reading forever!

I make flat bread all the time in my dehyrator! Most of the recipes I use are from Ani’s raw food essentials and my all time favorite recipe is from Gena “choosing raw”. She has a Raw cinnamon raisin bread that will knock your socks off!!!!!! I cant seem to keep it stocked in my pantry very long haha!

Loving all the boards on everyones blogs-such a good idea!
Sometimes the food that turns out looking like a hot mess is the best (just not very photogenic).

  13. Tina @ Faith Fitness Fun on January 4, 2011 at 11:14 am

Hey – taste matters most in the end. 😉

  14. Little Bookworm on January 4, 2011 at 11:28 am

  15. Ari @ The Diva Dish on January 4, 2011 at 11:28 am

As long as it taste amazing that is all that matters =] I think for the WMOW you should do a booty move!

  16. Madeleine @ Stepping to the Bright Side on January 4, 2011 at 11:43 am

I agree with Ari- I’d love to see a booty/hamstring move!

  17. Lili on January 4, 2011 at 11:44 am

i never got on the lara bar train- they were a little to sweet, I have like super taste buds.

  20. Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine on January 4, 2011 at 12:06 pm

Have you read Prep? I such a good book, by the same author. I keep meaning to read American Wife, too!!

    • Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter on January 4, 2011 at 1:46 pm

Prep is a fantastic book! I have read it 3 times I believe. I also highly recommend it.

      • Robyn @ Frugal 'n' Fit! on January 4, 2011 at 1:55 pm

I was going to suggest Prep too, although with a warning that it’s highly addictive and should only be consumed when one has no other obligations for a few days! lol

        • Fitnessista on January 4, 2011 at 2:21 pm

guess that’s going to be my next one 🙂

  27. Christin@purplebirdblog on January 4, 2011 at 12:38 pm

Tasting good makes it a win before a fail in my book every time! If it looked great but tasted like crap it would be a fail! 🙂

  28. Tracey @ I'm Not Superhuman on January 4, 2011 at 1:10 pm

Eh, taste is all that matters!

Also: macaroon giveaway? Ohpleaseohpleaseohplease lemme win!

  29. Namaste Gurl on January 4, 2011 at 1:13 pm

I’m glad your flatbread turned out yummy- taste wise- if not pretty. As long as it tastes delicious, why judge by looks? 🙂
You should film a easy cardio workout for beginners!

  30. Natalie @ Will Jog For Food on January 4, 2011 at 1:28 pm

LOVE the Cashew Cookie larabar…almost as good as the Peanut Butter & Jelly 🙂

  31. Gill (snaxandthecity) on January 4, 2011 at 1:40 pm

OMG I cannot believe the US are re-running SATC. I (obviously, hence the name!) wish UK telly would do the same….but I think it might be a bit risque in parts! Sigh, I will have to resort to my beloved and battered box set…!!

  32. Mo on January 4, 2011 at 1:42 pm

I vote for a biceps/triceps work out – now while the weather is cold and we are all wearing long sleeves! That way, we’ll look great once the warm weather hits! Love my Kindle – I swear you can get thru a book faster on that thing then if you had the actual book in your hands.

  33. Christine (The Raw Project) on January 4, 2011 at 1:49 pm

The flat bread attempt sounds wonderful and makes me want to try another socca recipe.

  34. Kara on January 4, 2011 at 2:13 pm

I really enjoyed that book too. It’s actually being passed around my mommy running group now (we’re not high tech enough to have kindles 🙂 I’d love to get a kindle, but I don’t think I want to find out how much baby drool it takes before a kindle breaks, so I’ll wait until the baby is a little older!

  35. Maryann on January 4, 2011 at 2:33 pm

I love that E is playing Sex and the City now too! Even though I own the entire series on DVD, it still makes me happy 🙂 As long as the flatbread tasted good, thats all that matters!

  36. Natalie Rae on January 4, 2011 at 2:38 pm

Agree about the last part of The American Wife- well written- last part wraps up but… love the first 75%

  37. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on January 4, 2011 at 3:08 pm

Gina I love all the boards you posted!

Sometimes recipes are half success, half fail. As long as you can still eat it, i consider that a success for sure 🙂

Hope you’re day is going great!

  38. Courtney (greeneyedrunner) on January 4, 2011 at 5:10 pm

Hi Gina, I’m working on making my own inspiration board and don’t know what to put all the pictures/headings/memos on! Is it a poster or a piece of cardboard?

    • Fitnessista on January 4, 2011 at 6:52 pm

or a piece of scrapbook paper- anything will work!

  39. Lauren @ Fun, Fit and Fabulous! on January 4, 2011 at 5:23 pm

I am loving the Sex In The City reruns as well! 🙂

  40. Kelsey on January 4, 2011 at 5:40 pm

Hey Gina, you must have met your max on posts to your ‘roon give away – the leave a reply isn’t available. Oh well. My goal for 2011, gain 10 pounds (as much of as possible muscle) and do so by May 1. Take care.
