Friday Faves

New beauty gear!

Even though I was very tempted in Vegas, I didn’t buy any clothes. That’s not to say I wasn’t sucked into Sephora 😉

Tarte 1 of 1 2

Tarte eyelash primer. I use it before I put on this mascara.

Argan 1 of 1

Argan oil. I’m a huge fan of Moroccan oil, but don’t travel with my giant bottle. This travel-sized bottle of Argan oil is prefect for my quart-sized bag, and makes my hair and skin feel amazing.

Tarte 1 of 1

New lip gloss pencil. I like this one even better than my usual Revlon, and since it’s Tarte, I also appreciate the quality ingredients and fact that it’s cruelty-free.

Fresh 1 of 1

Fresh face wash. This is because I forgot face wash and the bar soap started to take a toll on my super-sensitive skin. It’s light and clean without being too harsh.

Yellow sandals. I started a JustFab membership, since one of my favorite fashion bloggers is always raving about it. They have an awesome exchange policy -the first pair was too small- and I’ve really enjoyed it so far!

Green juice 1 of 1

Green juices with lemon and ginger. Never gets old.

9 simple things women should do for their health.

Art on the patio with Liv 🙂

Sponge painting 1 of 1

I cut some sponges into shapes, put out paper plates with different paints and let her stamp paint while we listened to the Frozen soundtrack. It was a lovely morning <3

A letter to my friend, about to be a mom. Loved reading this so much!

25 telltale signs you’re a military spouse.

Any faves from the week? New beauty products you love??

Have a happy Friday!

I lurrvveeee Tarte! Their Amazonian Clay mascara seriously made my eyelashes longer and stronger, and I recently bought that same lip pencil but in a soft matte pink color.

    • Fitnessista on March 21, 2014 at 11:30 am

they’re probably my favorite beauty brand. the gel eyeliner is amazing, too!

      • Irina on March 21, 2014 at 11:44 am

Yes mine too! And I own that liquid eyeliner as well 🙂 amazing products all around!

  2. Megan @ Meganmumbles on March 21, 2014 at 11:26 am

I have the same lip gloss and I love it! I have gone through at least 3 tubes already! I’m on a green juice kick right now too!

    • Fitnessista on March 21, 2014 at 11:31 am

      i love it so much!

  3. Emily on March 21, 2014 at 11:27 am

I’m glad my local Sephora store is a wee bit out of the way of my normal travels, or I’d end up there way too much! I’ve switched out most of my beauty products to natural stuff like coconut oil and clay toothpaste, but I still can’t drop perfume! I love a spritz in the morning to make me feel glamorous. I know it’s probably one of the most “dirty” beauty products out there, but it just makes me so happy 🙂 Lately I’ve been running on a sample of Michael Kors Gold I scored from Sephora.

  4. Stephanie on March 21, 2014 at 11:29 am

What happened to no shopping? 😉

    • Fitnessista on March 21, 2014 at 11:30 am

      • Brigid on March 21, 2014 at 11:53 am

        Do the sandals not count?

  5. JG on March 21, 2014 at 11:34 am

OMG. “25 telltale signs you’re a military spouse” CRACKED ME UP!!! Definitely guilty of most of these :o)

  6. Erin @ Girl Gone Veggie on March 21, 2014 at 11:48 am

They played Let It Go on the radio as I drove to work this morning. It was awesome. I can’t wait to buy the movie.

    Happy Friday!

  7. Whitney @ To Live & Diet in L.A. on March 21, 2014 at 11:54 am

I’ve never used eyelash primer before but I heard it’s a game changer. Def going to try this stuff!

  8. Laura @ Live, Run, Sparkle on March 21, 2014 at 12:06 pm

I have been using Tarte Maracuja Oil for my crowsfeet because I heard its amazing, and I actually see a difference. I like that its natural and not full of chemicals, and cruelty-free obviously.

PS. I LOVEDDD the link of the mom & 4-year old doing yoga! Adorable!

  9. Jackie on March 21, 2014 at 12:22 pm

    Love that lip color!

  10. Amber Schumann on March 21, 2014 at 12:29 pm

Diehard Moroccan Oil fan here too… Did you know it comes in a travel-friendly size? That’s the only size I usually buy because it will last forever for me (and the purchase is less of a blow on the bank account).

Also love the tarte products. Their bronzer is my FAAAAAAAAV!

Btw, I’d really like to start using paints with my almost-2-year-old but I’m TERRIFIED of the mess knowing that Baylie will go nuts with it (I think hubby would kill us both is we got paint on our patio–does it wash off?). How do you keep Liv under control with the paints?

  11. Laura B @ FitMamaLove on March 21, 2014 at 12:31 pm

Love Tarte makeup! It looks great and I love that it’s free of a lot of yucky ingredients.

    Have a great weekend!

  12. FitBritt@MyOwnBalance on March 21, 2014 at 12:46 pm

I saw that Avicii video on the news yesterday and it blew me away! How cool is that!? My favorite thing about this week is it getting warm enough for a game of outdoor tennis! Woo hoo!

  13. Megan on March 21, 2014 at 12:57 pm

I just recently discovered Drew Barrymore’s beauty line called Flower. So good! It’s only available at Walmart, but I think it’s very similar to other high end brands, particularly their About Face foundation. I was seriously considering dropping $42 on the Nars Sheer Glow until I discovered this $14 alternative. Definitely recommend her line.

Did you order some Bamboo Green Tea Wen when it was on special? It’s not just awesome on hair; I use it as my face cleanser too (plus for shaving) – so you can have one product for multiple uses. And my skin is so much better. Just FYI 🙂

  15. Meg @ A Dash of Meg on March 21, 2014 at 1:10 pm

    NO NEW CLOTHES!? hahaha 😉

  16. Kaila @healthyhelperblog! on March 21, 2014 at 1:15 pm

Lemon and ginger MAKE a juice! Love the zest and zing!

  17. Stephanie @ Whole Health Dork on March 21, 2014 at 1:29 pm

I couldn’t agree more with the “9 Easy Things” for your health article. I work in oncology research at a community cancer center and I can’t tell you how many women have found an early (and thus, treatable!) via self-exams. Gotta do it, ladies!
I love Fresh products! I interned at Fresh when I was in college (before it was as big as it is now) and used to be able to bring home tons of samples AND all employees are gifted a certain number of products from each category to get to know the brand. Some days I wish I could work there again (but wouldn’t want to commute to South Boston!).

  18. Tracy on March 21, 2014 at 1:32 pm

Yay for MARCH MADNESS!! Favorite (sports) time of year for sure!

Love the mom-daughter yoga! I’m trying so hard to get my 14 yr old daughter to do yoga with me. I think I’m getting close 🙂

  19. Lisa on March 21, 2014 at 2:09 pm

The mom and daughter yoga pictures are amazing! So beautiful!

  20. Livi on March 21, 2014 at 2:11 pm

Eyelash primer sounds so interesting! Does it help a lot?

  21. Yvonne on March 21, 2014 at 2:24 pm

Yay! The yoga link made the blog!!!! 🙂 I’m headed back to Jacksonville this weekend and I am BEYOND excited to walk in to their Lush store. I haven’t been to one and I fear for my wallet. Totally not something you picked up but I learned about them from you and your blog!!

  22. Sara @ LovingOnTheRun on March 21, 2014 at 2:40 pm

I love March Madness – sadly our team blew it last night 🙁 OH well!! I will still make sure to watch plenty of it!

  23. cait @pieceofcait on March 21, 2014 at 3:36 pm

love that face wash! the best! 🙂

  24. Lauren @ Focused To Be Fit on March 21, 2014 at 4:19 pm

Makeup Forever Smoky Extravagance Mascara – love, love love. It was my birthday gift from Sephora and its awesome! TGIF 🙂 Have a good weekend!

  25. Sam on March 21, 2014 at 4:51 pm

Tarte just got bought out by Kose. I wonder what their stance on animal testing will be.

  26. Alex @ Kenzie Life on March 21, 2014 at 5:14 pm

I love Tarte! The next time you’re at sephora, check out a brand called Bite. I’m obsessed with it as of a few days ago! They use food grade ingredients and their lip pencils have citrus peel in them, so they are incredibly hydrating, good quality, smell like oranges, are cruelty free and the clementine color especially is so gorgeous!

  27. Kristin on March 21, 2014 at 9:04 pm

I’ve never really tried tarte cosmetics. Ill have to drop by sephora or ulta soon.

  28. Meg on March 22, 2014 at 12:20 am

The hubs and I were both in the Army and I love the list you added about being a military spouse. Although there are many that I relate to, number 12 resonates a lot! If you haven’t been there, you can’t talk s***!! 😉

  29. Cassy on March 22, 2014 at 12:44 pm

I really like the Argan Oil Light too. It’s the only thing that’s saved my skin from being dry during this crazy winter we’ve been having on the east coast!

  30. Lauren @ The Bikini Experiment on March 22, 2014 at 4:36 pm

Tarte is awesome! I also agree with the comment about Bite. Great lip color products!

  31. Ashley on March 22, 2014 at 11:50 pm

I love the argan oil too <3 sephora is a weakness, so happy they are starting to have eco-friendly chemical free options now too!

I love the photos of Laura Sykora with her 4 yr old – so cute! and they have matching leggings!! I can't wait to do photos like that with my daughter! She's only 5 months old right now… so our options are limited 🙂

  32. Katie on March 23, 2014 at 6:28 am

LOVE the Josie Maran argan oil light. I have that and use it every night, it rocks! The face wash is great too, their whole line has great products!

    Happy weekend! <3

Not sure if someone already said this or if you know already, but with JustFab, you have to make sure you “skip” the month if you don’t plan on purchasing something, otherwise you get charged (no refunds) and get a credit on your account. For fun and colorful handbags, they have some great options!

    • Fitnessista on March 24, 2014 at 11:36 am

yes, thank you for mentioning that! i skipped last month, no prob.
