Friday Faves

Happy Friday and Happy Halloween! Any fun plans tonight? We’re off to a friend’s party later today, and I’m trying to think of a fun activity for this morning.

Halloween 1 of 1 12

(Bell is thankful to not be reliving the hot dog shame again this year.)

Some faves from the week and around the web:

The Kale Yeah shirt orders. Thank you so much for helping me support Fed by Threads with these cute and comfy sustainable tees. So far, we’ve provided the funds for just under 1,000 meals! That is INCREDIBLE. I would love to make it to 2,000!! Orders will close on Monday <3

Liv’s Halloween manicure. She asked me to paint her nails, so I Halloween-ified them a little.

Tinypumpkinhands

Waterfall braids. It’s been my go-to hairstyle this week, especially since I like to air dry my hair. I’ll waterfall braid it, and it will dry wavy.

Waterfall

Dinner at Bo-Beau Kitchen. Always a fave and my favorite San Diego restaurant I’ve tried since we’ve been here. Their salmon is INSANE, and we usually wash it down with the ménage à trois dessert: peanut brittle with chocolate ganache, cheesecake with a berry swirl, and mint chocolate mousse.

ButteroftheseaFoodgasm

Having a rough day? Try this Kanye confidence generator. 😉

5 mom-shaming trends that need to stop.

Been scoping out these booties! I’ve been looking for a grey pair and think they’d be an awesome everyday option.

5 yoga myths debunked.

Park dates with this little lady.

Park

Jim Carrey’s spoof of the Matthew McConaughey commercial.

Caro’s spider neckerchief. (The “rub my belly” eyes are always a fave.)

Rubmybelly

An 86-year-old gymnast proving age is just a number.

A yoga Instagram challenge for November.

Jungle java. This is a fun little spot on Newport, with great breakfast menu (they have acai bowls and the couple across from me shared French toast with nutella), and ALMOND MILK. I enjoyed my green tea almond milk latte next to the succulent wall.

Junglejava

A history of women’s clothing sizes.. and how the heck they got so out of whack.

Kelly Clarkson’s version of “Shake It Off.”

Enjoy the rest of your day and Happy Halloween! Be safe tonight. <3

xoxo

I can’t believe how big Liv is getting! She’s not a baby anymore, or even a toddler! I’m sure you’re enjoying her different phases.

  19. Erin Motz on October 31, 2014 at 11:08 am

    1) Livi asking for a manicure… I mean… cuteness overload! Can’t she just stay a wittle baybeeee?!

    2) I would do a lot of questionable things to have the amount of hair you do! *swoon!*

  20. Tricia @ A Couple of Dashes on October 31, 2014 at 11:30 am

I love the braid! Can you do a tutorial? I can never figure out how to do it!

  21. Angela @ HonestlyAngela on October 31, 2014 at 11:33 am

I love the waterfall braid look but I have never tried it – it looks so complicated! I am completely a wash and go kinda girl so I plan to give this a go after I watch your tutorial!

  22. Lauren @ The Bikini Experiment on October 31, 2014 at 12:57 pm

Pretty braid! Enjoy your Halloween. 🙂

  23. Ashley @ A Lady Goes West on October 31, 2014 at 2:11 pm

You are pretty good with your braids! I love the look of that, but am not sure I could achieve it on my own hair. Hope you have a great weekend! Happy Halloween:)

  24. Livi @ Eat, Pray, Work It Out on October 31, 2014 at 2:22 pm

    I love your braid!

  25. Whitney @ To Live & Diet in L.A. on October 31, 2014 at 6:38 pm

That hot dog costume is awesome!! At least your pup looks slightly happier than mine when I put him in Halloween getups haha.

And thanks for sharing the Kanye-fidence – truly amazing!

  26. Lizzie on October 31, 2014 at 7:22 pm

Girl, I would kill for your hair! And Caroline’s “rub my belly” eyes just melt my heart.

  27. Julie on October 31, 2014 at 10:20 pm

I’ve never been able to braid my own hair!

  28. Emily @ Sweet Summer Smiles on November 1, 2014 at 2:55 pm

What a cute little hot dog! I can never find a costume that fits my dog. How did you come up with the waterfall braid? It’s so cute!

  29. Abby on November 1, 2014 at 7:24 pm

So cute! Looks like so much fun! (BTW told my husband about the Livi-isms and he LOVED it)

  30. Kavitta on November 2, 2014 at 1:20 pm

Hi!! Still loving your blog!! Thank you. You’ve changed my ability to work out at home. I was always used to the classes at the gym and then moved to San Diego with a young child and a husband who is often at work. The garage has become my friend. Any plans on a November work out schedule. Pretty please! 🙂

  31. Claire on November 2, 2014 at 3:57 pm

Holy perfect hair-do. I am so envious of your glorious, thick, luscious locks! My hair is so thin and sparse that even if I had the mad skills to do a braid like that, it probably wouldn’t even work.

Also, that trio of desserts looks just like absolute heaven. I need to try to come up with a recipe for all of them! First up the mint chocolate mousse.

  32. Maggie @ Veg Fiend on November 2, 2014 at 4:51 pm

I’m loving that succulent wall. Wish I could grow succulents that lovely, but my dark apartment has foiled all my plant aspirations.
