Gina: Recent finds

I’ve been getting a little better at putting outfits together, instead of buying something just because I like it and never knowing what to wear with it (I’m looking at you, ankle boots). When I went into HM the other night, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and get some printed things, and also was thinking of my quest to get more pants and skirts, for the nights I’m feeling fancier than my usual yoga pants.

I also tend to stick with a dress or jeans and a cute top when we go out, and since I’ve been reading Suri’s Burn Book for too long -it’s hilarious if you’ve never checked it out- it made me want to expand my horizon. She’s always snubbing baby celebrities for wearing jeans, so now, I can’t help but think of a 6-year-old judging me when I put them on.

Anyway…

Here are the pants I picked up from HM:

Recent finds

Printed

Twill

Some other goodies:

a gold chain bracelet with pink roses

Black top

and a floral top.

From Francesca’s Collection:

Chevron top (similar- mine is navy and white)

Cream top (similar)

Navy lace dress

You can kinda see the top in this pic:

Me and liv 3

and here’s the dress, which fits perfectly.

Dress 2

With the things I’ve recently picked up, I’m excited to mix and match what I can and transition them from the sweltering summer months into fall with a few key pieces I already have. I’ll be wearing a navy slouchy sweater, riding boots and colorful scarves to transition some of the above into the new season. Fall doesn’t really start in Tucson until Halloween, but I’m already excited.

Anything you found lately that you love?? Have you been rocking the printed pants? I wasn’t sure how flattering they’d be, but the smaller print looks much better and I’m excited to wear mine with a solid top and my new flats.

Have a happy weekend <3

Francesca’s has the best pieces for summer and fall at the best prices. LOVE the purple dress – it definitely looks like something the store would sell! From following your fashion posts, it looks like you do a great job mixing and matching seasonal trends when the time comes! 🙂

Just the thought of wearing printed pants makes me nervous…totally out of my comfort zone, but I love the mint jeans in that pic of you and Liv!

Any tips for finding good riding boots? I’ve tried on about 1,000 pairs in the past 3 years, and still have yet to find “the ones.”

I love that you read Suri’s Burn Book. I introduced it to one of my best friends this summer, and we like to laugh about her sarcasm and wit.

Suri’s Burn Book is hilarious! I think it’s funny that you wonder about what 6-year olds are thinking… I’m glad that I’m not the only one that has funny little quirks when it comes to coordinating outfits!

Where in the world did you get those lovely mint ankle skinnies that you are wearing in the last photo with Olivia? Are they from Gap? I have seen that picture a few times now, and every time I see ’em I want them more!

I love that outfit you’re wearing in the picture with Liv – very pretty! Oooh riding boots… they’re so classic. I absolutely love being able to wear skirts and dresses paired with riding boots in the fall. Also, Suri’s Burn Book is hilarious! I had never read it before, but it is cracking me up!

I went to H&M last night and looked at the same exact black top. I decided to pass on it, but would love to see one of your outfits incorporating it!

I’ve lusted after so many things on the h&m website. I want to order some pants but I’m not sure about what size to order. Are they pretty true to size or do I need to order a size bigger or smaller than what I normally wear? I know different brands vary in their sizes.
I am SO ready for fall fashion! The mornings here are already dipping into the upper 50s & low 60s. Love it!!

Love the dress! I am not letting myself buy anything new at the moment, but I am so tempted by how cute it is.
