I’ve got a lot of cake to eat

002

15 Bundt cakes!! All for the party tonight. Megan and I were scoping them out last night while drinking our vino but we were good 😉

We also have our counter littered with candle holders for the tables.. glass mirror plates, hurricanes and glass bowls

003

They’re everywhere! Good thing it will all be GONE and at the party site by this afternoon.. clutter drives me bonkers

Can I just say what an angel my friend Jeni is?? This week has been insane with my work/teaching schedule and trying to help the pilot with the party planning, and even though she’s just as busy as I am, she’s ran a TON of errands on my behalf to help out. What a sweetheart.

Last night, I had to run to the FAR Wizzle after work and did not feel like cooking at all, so I grabbed one of these bad Johnnies…

010

And the guy who made it gave me some SERIOUS attitude!!!

The girl making the pitas in front of him had made a chicken pita abomination and chicken juices were spilling out all over the counter. The guy was adding my toppings and slid my pita right into said chicken juice. Even though I wanted to vomit, very politely and sweetly I asked if he would make a new pita for me as I don’t eat meat and there was chicken juice all over my pita. He threw the pita into the trash with more gusto than necessary, and hastily began making me a new pita. Ummm, sorry I didn’t want chicken juice all over my pita Mr. Angry Pants. :/

I stuffed the pita into my face in a very non-ladylike manner while I drove to Wizzle to get more hurricanes for the candles and then stopped at Jeni’s to take her some thank-you flowers.

When I got home, I wanted some vino with all of my soul and thank goodness my wine buddy Megan was home.

004

We had some Mary’s crack and organic red. Just what the doctor ordered 😉

We all went to bed fairly early since the pilot had to fly early this morning.

When I got out of bed, I took the puppies on their walk and had one of these Flax bars that Stacy sent me in an awesome care package 😀

 006

I LOVED this bar (it was super chewy) and couldn’t believe the entire thing only had about 160 cals.. crazy!

I also had a nanner:

010

And went to the gym for a glorious 50 minute treadmill sesh. I based it off this workout (except with a 2.0% incline and ran at 5.3 instead of 5.0 and 6.3 instead of 6.5) and I was a satisfied and sweaty beast when I was finished.

I got a juice since I was in the neighborhood 😉

007

Hit up the health food store, dropped Bella off at the groomers, went to PetSmart and then came home for lunch and to get ready for work.

Typical salad beast:

009

I have to go back to the gym for a training appointment, pick Bella up, get ready for the party and meet the pilot to help him set up. I’ll see ya soon with some party pics! 😀

Have a very happy Friday, friends!

xoxo,

Gina

I am so with you on asking Mr. Pita to make you a new one. What's it to him?!
I saw those Go Raw bars at Whole Foods yesterday-I'll have to pick one up when I go there next time.

    yum x15

Horrors! I SO would have made them made mine over as well. I get oogied out enough when they just touch the meat before making my sub at subway. :-/

    WOWZA – lovely bundts.

EW, I hate bad service at restaurants/food places – just wrote about that, as you know, haha 😀

    Happy Friday, love!!

There's nothing like a rude person to put a damper on your day:( I mean, you are a PAYING customer!

    Have fun at the party:)

  9. Emily on July 17, 2009 at 2:12 pm

Blech, I can't blame you for wanting a new pita! It bothers me when the knives aren't cleaned either. The 'tude was definitely not necessary.

Have a great time at the party!!

  10. Therese on July 17, 2009 at 2:36 pm

I'm seriously tired from just reading your post. You are one busy chica!
At least it will be over soon 🙂 You think the pita situation is bad…the last time I was at Moe's getting a big burrito bowl (sans meat and tortilla) the guy on the line was sweating so profusely that it was dripping in the chicken pan. Yea…

Needless to say I haven't been back to a Moe's since.

Glad you liked it! Its my fav flavor they offer!

Look at all those cakes, crazy!!

I know how you feel re: Pita Pit Angry Pants. I used to like going to a lot of places like Cold Stone & Marble Slab, and while I don't go a lot now for health reasons, I used to get a lot of crap when I asked them to not use the same scoopers they did on the nut-filled stuff, or when I asked them to clear off the marble slab from the ice cream with nuts they had just done in the same spot. Deathly allergic to tree nuts – I could die and they're giving me crap. Lame!

Can't wait for party pics. 🙂

LOL – for some reason I totally cracked up at the mental image of you and Megan prowling in front of the bundt cakes, vino in hand… You are very good girls for staying away!

  20. fittingbackin on July 17, 2009 at 4:18 pm

Have fun at the partay! Your salad looks fab! Mr. Angry Pants sounds like a total d – hehe love that you said 'gusto.' LOL

  21. heartswholefoods on July 17, 2009 at 5:34 pm

Sorry to hear about Mr Angry Pants (LOL at the name!)! I mean, it's his job to make you a delicious pita the way you want it. I hate it when people spill negative energy all over you

Bundt cakes look so yummy! Have fun at the party 🙂

  22. Kristi (sweet cheeks) on July 17, 2009 at 5:34 pm

Hope you have an awesome time at the party! can't wait to see the pics!

  23. Paige@ Running Around Normal on July 17, 2009 at 5:49 pm

Ah I hate when people take their crappy moods out on other people. At least you could see him making it to ensure you didn't get "a little something extra" in your pita 😛

  24. ttfn300 on July 17, 2009 at 5:59 pm

that's a lotta cake! enjoy the party 🙂

  25. K from ksgoodeats on July 17, 2009 at 6:16 pm

Woahhhh to Mr. Crabby Pants from the pit! I'm glad you stood up for yourself though – that would have skeeved me out to have chicken juice on my pita 🙁

YAHOOO PARTY TIME!! Have a blast!

  26. Anna on July 17, 2009 at 6:50 pm

    OMGAAAAA those cakes. Heaven.

Geez, mr. pita man sounds like a real peace of work. Next time, tell him to stuff it. no pun intended.

  27. Averie on July 17, 2009 at 7:21 pm

When my daughter was about a year old and just kind of learning to eat food I would break off pieces of that SAME RAW BAR you have shown. She could kind of gum it with her lack of teeth and I felt good she was getting something raw, gluten soy and dairy free, lots of omegas, and fiber. We kinda outgrew the stage and those little bars are kinda pricey but even toddlers like em!

  28. shelby on July 17, 2009 at 7:38 pm

    That flax bar looks delicious!!

  29. Sarah (LovIN My Tummy) on July 17, 2009 at 8:10 pm

    Holy cake, Batgirl!

I'm trying not to dry heave over your chicken "juice" story. Ew.

Have a great party and enjoy your weekend!

  30. Lauren on July 17, 2009 at 8:27 pm

Eww, Pita Pit guy! I did the same thing at Subway one time. The guy in front of me ordered a gigantic meat infused sub with a side of extra bacon and the workers glovers were covered in slimy meat juice, so I asked him to change his gloves before he made my veggie, and he totally rolled his eyes and gave me a "are you freakin serious" look. Good thing I watched him while he worked, or I think I would have had some spit in my 6 inch! 😉

Have the best time tonight hun! Can't wait to read the recap.

  31. Christina on July 17, 2009 at 8:54 pm

That's one awesome-looking salad. Hope you have fun partying it up tonight!

  34. Kathy (Moving Beyond Perfection) on July 17, 2009 at 11:28 pm

Aww man, I hate it when people are just so rude!! Bad service is a huge turn off for me, even if the food is fabulous. I'm sorry you had to encounter that! Sometimes, though, I just try to think myself in their shoes. I suppose if I were making pitas for people all day long, I wouldn't be in the best of mood either 🙁

  35. WholeBodyLove on July 18, 2009 at 12:42 am

Ew! I worked at a SUBWAY back in the day and had anyone pulled something like that, he/she would have been let go! That is uncalled for and awfully disturbing… Sounds like the party is coming together nicely!

Oh!! All those cakes are beating down my defenses….luckily there is a salad at the end of the entry to pull me back from the dark side! 🙂

  38. carolinebee on July 18, 2009 at 9:56 am

Man gotta love when restaurant workers bust out the tude! At least at pita pit you can watch for that stuff! Can't wait to see the partay haps
