If the shoe fits…

Helloooooo 😀 HAPPY FRIDAY!! Hope you’re having a great day so far <3

I can’t believe I’ve already taught bootcamp and went with the Pilot to take the puppers to their dental cleaning appointment. Morning and I aren’t usually friends 😉

It broke my heart because Bella was running up to all of the nurses with her tail wagging, and when they put the red leash on her, her tail tucked under and you could tell she was afraid.

bella

Thanks to those of you who left reassuring comments about the fur children being put to sleep for their dental cleaning. I still worry about their furry faces though!

Last night, I just chilled at the casa, wrote the Indulge post (thanks for all of your lovely feedback) and called it an early night since I had to teach before the sun this morning.

Bfast was the standard breakfast cookie dough cereal with homemade cashew butter, 1/2 giant organic peach and goji berries

cereal (2)

Some other recent eats:

Amy’s black bean vegetable soup – Operation Eat Through Our Pantry Before We Move has begun 😉

soup

(It was kind of nast but 100x better with Herdez salsa, Garlic Gold and cumin mixed in)

Salad with homemade balsamic dijon dressing (balsamic, EVOO, Garlic Gold, sea salt, pepper, a lil Stevia and Dijon mustard)

salad

Brown rice bread with nutritional yeast and Earth Balance

bread

On a napkin bearing the meaning of life:

Speaking of shoes….

It’s FASHION FRIDAY!

For today’s Fashion Friday post, I wanted to make it a little more interactive and figured we could help each other shop 😉

The theme:

FALL SHOES!

There are so many awesome trends for fall shoes, including animal print

image Topshop

Lace

image Forever21

Clogs

image Victoria’s Secret (Steve Madden)

Grungy boots

image Urban Outfitters

Jewel-toned heels

image Chie Mihara

image Louboutin

and the the list goes on and on.

To be honest, I’m more of a purse and jeans girl than a shoe girl. Buying a pair of fall boots last year was a tough decision, so I ended up enlisting Kailey as my personal shopper and she picked them out for me 😉

Today, I thought it would be fun to post a comment with a link to the shoes you’re lusting after this season. We can get new ideas from each other 🙂

So tell me friends, what shoes are you lovin’ right now?? Are you a shoe girl? Purse girl? Jeans girl? All of the above? Hate shopping??

I’m off to the squadron BBQ 🙂

See ya this afternoon!

xoxo,

Gina

ok, i could go on about boots, but honestly, i teared up @ the thought of bella being scared. i know she’s fine & it was great you did it, but the thought of her w/ the her cute ribbon& her tail tucked…..sniff!

it was heartbreaking. especially since she’s always so happy :/ i’m supposed to pick them up in a couple of hours, so hopefully that little pom pom tail will be wagging again

Hi, I live in Mew York and have been reading your blog for awhile now. I think your relationship to food is just wonderful. I love how you let yourself indulge but overall your really healthy. I also love how your blog feels real and that you let your personality come through and it seems like you let yourself be yourself. It is really refreshing. Keep up the great work!

      thank you <3

I love, love, love shoes, but I walk really hard and wear through them so fast! I really love Steve Madden flats, though. I am probably a purse girl. I’ve had the same Coach purse for 4 years and it still looks absolutely amazing!

Long time reader, first time commentor here. Couple quick questions: What ever happened to the Rent The Runway dress that was such a fiasco? Did you ever wear it in Chicago? Also, was Garlic Gold upset that they paid for a hotel for you that you didn’t stay in? Seems like other HLS attendees didn’t have a problem staying there.

    • Fitnessista on August 27, 2010 at 5:11 pm

      hey girl,
thanks so much for reading my little blog! i wore the 2nd choice rent the runway dress. you can see a pic of it here: http://fitnessista.com/2010/08/hi-chi/
i didn’t love it, but it worked.
garlic gold didn’t pay for my hotel room in advance, they wrote me a check which was enough to cover my hotel expenses. so it didn’t matter that i didn’t stay at the HLS hotel. quite a few bloggies didn’t like staying there either… lots of scary stories were exchanged

I don’t have a link, but I’m on the lookout for a cute pair of ballet flats. Oh, and as it is every fall, a reasonably priced but well-made pair of boots. So far that’s been a big fail for three years.

Love all of these fabulous shoes and recommendations!
I would love to own a pair of *real* Frye riding boots… however since purchasing a house all of my ‘fun’ money now goes to my mortgage. Wah, wah. Here are some of my favorite Frye styles:
Jane Tall Cuff Boot (my favorite!!!): http://tinyurl.com/2bkrrhu
    Shirley Cuffed Riding Boot: http://tinyurl.com/2djxhz
Paige Loop Pull On Boot: http://tinyurl.com/397y2c4

I also love these stilettos by Sam Edelman: http://tinyurl.com/245htcy
They’d be perfect for a Lady Gaga concert that I’m going to next week. I probably would never wear them again afterwards, but they would make one heck of an entrance / statement!

Bella is SO super cutie! Is she wearing something pink in her hair?!

My dream shoes are thigh-high, high-heeled boots:

I’ve never owned boots nor do I wear heels (too tall and gawky!), so perhaps I should reconsider.

    • Fitnessista on August 27, 2010 at 5:07 pm

yes she has a bow 🙂
      those boots are gorgeous!!

I’ve spotted those cute little napkins before 🙂 I am definitely loving knee high boots! Those animal print shoes are definitely something I would wear as well!

those napkins are mega cute! I’m on the hunt for a great pair of boots for the winter, i’ve not seen anything that takes my fancy yet though!

I am a purse girl through and through. My dad started the obsession when I was 12 and since then only Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Prada will do!! I have a feeling that we have ALOT in common on that front!! 🙂

  12. Rebecca on August 27, 2010 at 5:29 pm

I have a completely random question about the Polar F6–do you still use yours?? I just got one and I used it today for the first time. After an intense 45 minute sweat sess on the elliptical, it told me my heart rate was in the 50s and I burned 58 cals. SOOO wrong. Has this ever happened to you?

    • Fitnessista on August 27, 2010 at 5:34 pm

that happened a little when i first got mine because i didn’t have the chest strap on correctly. make sure to wet the sensors REALLY well and wear it tight, right under your girls so that it lays flat. press start on the watch before you start working out and make sure it’s at a *real* number. if it’s working, then pause it and then re-start when you start your workout. it took me a while to get used to it

      • Rebecca on August 27, 2010 at 6:12 pm

thanks so much! i’m going to try it again while doing one of your RAD workouts tomorrow morning! nothing feels quite as good as breaking a sweat first thing in the morning 🙂

    Total shoe junkie here 🙂

I have been loving the Tipper shoe by Steve Madden all summer and am sure the love will carry into fall. – http://www.polyvore.com/steve_madden_tippper/thing?id=19881997

And I am also loving badass wedges. See this post on Vie Society – http://theviesociety.tumblr.com/post/871183183/badass-wedges

Give me leopard print and heels (to compensate for my 4’10” frame) and I am a happy girl! 🙂 I am most definitely a shoe girl. I saw these today while out shopping and maybe the shoe fairy will drop them off at my door? http://www5.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=1899560&DeptID=70731&CatID=71768&SO=0&x5view=1&Ne=8+4+5+3+840+14+23+18+904+949+833&shopperType=G&N=4294953502&Nao=42&PSO=0&CmCatId=70731|71768

I’m definitely a shoe girl. Any store I go into, I b-line it to the shoes and have to practice serious self control to not walk out with yet another pair. As for this fall, I love boots! Flat leather ones, stiletto ankle ones and, of course, rain boots! But you show me a picture of 6 different shoes, and chances are I want them all!

Love your blog, you’re such an inspiration!

  16. shelly@campinggirlchronicals on August 28, 2010 at 8:00 am

I love the jewel toned shoes that you posted!
My latest shoe purchase is a pair of bejeweled silver sandles… I was in Vegas and got the worst blisters so I had to buy something that I could wear in the clubs that didn’t rub on the blistery bits. I like them a lot and will get a ton of wear out of them.

  17. Sassy Molassy on August 31, 2010 at 5:20 pm

I’ve been loving boots this past year, but am not sure if I’ll buy another pair. I bought the Frye harness boots last year, which go great underneath jeans, but I’d love maybe some black riding boots that I could put on over skinny jeans. Just not sure if I can rock that.

Overall, I’m definitely a jeans girl. I have more than enough Sevens, Paige and Citizens, but still want more. I just can’t resist them and how good they make the butt look!
