LOVING Freakonomics, btw. It’s fascinating and a really awesome read so far.

Before our veg-sesh, we had a date with Shaun T.

Even though it’s recovery week, the DVD (Cardio Core and Balance) will still make ya sweat like a monkey.

Crazy!!

I do have to show ya’ll today’s bfast before I go, because it was pretty glorious.

GAH. So. freaking. good.

I’m wayyyyy impressed with the quality of the food here, especially since it’s an all-inclusive resort. Everything has been wonderful 😀

We’re off to put “real” clothes on and have pics taken by the photographer on site, and then eating at the hoity toity restaurant.

Have a wonderful night <3

Gina

It looks like you are having an amazing time. It reminds me of my vacation to the Dominican Republic last year. Can’t wait to see the pics from tonight!

LOVED Freakanomics, read it awhile ago and couldn’t put it down. They have a sequel which I gotta pick up for more fun facts!

    • Fitnessista on May 15, 2010 at 6:42 pm

YES! i can’t wait to read it next 🙂

I’m so beyond jealous, seriously. Your veg look amazing, but the smoked salmon? I totally lived on that on our honeymoon!

  5. BethT on May 15, 2010 at 7:18 pm

Hubby wanted to read Freakonomics together and I turned him down because I thought it was him just being a planning/econ nerd…but if you like it, I may consider it! 🙂

Freakonomics is SO good. Such a fun, easy read. I’ve started reading the sequel as well. It is a really good airport and airplane read for me since it is full of short(ish) stories so you don’t have to worry about all of the stopping and starting.

  8. I love the cabanas! So fun!!

I’m glad to know that the food quality is good at the all-inclusive! That speaks highly of them.

Have fun at your fancy dinner tonight! Can’t wait to see what they serve there!

The food at your resort looks great! I’ve definitely had some not so awesome experiences at all inclusives. There were lots of sketchy, sauce-covered mystery meats involved. Yuck!

Have fun at dinner tonight. 🙂

What a great vacation. My husband and I had kids right away so we have yet to go on a couples only vacay, but as soon as we can I am booking a trip to the bahamas! Amazing!

Freakonomics was the required summer reading book my freshman year of college (or to take English 2101). But since I go to a Institute of Technology, no engineer will read that (this was before the days of Kindle, so good luck getting most of those people away from computers).

Anyways, I never did read it but have been yearning for a good book and believe that might be a good one next! I got so many good recommendations from the last time you asked about books.

Have you heard of or read “Sex Drugs and CocoPuffs”? I don’t know a lot about it but some kids at my school (again freshman english) were required to read it

    • Fitnessista on May 16, 2010 at 9:12 am

no i haven’t heard of it, but i’ll be on the lookout 🙂

Hi Gina, I am doing Insanity too and I would also like to incorporate weights back into my exercise plan. However, I really don’t have more than an hour a day to spend exercising, and if I am doing Insanity that day, I don’t have time to go to the gym as well. Do you have any ideas for me? Not to incur the wrath of Shaun T, but maybe you could devise some sort of supplementary strength plan to go along w/ Insanity?
    Have a wonderful vacation!

    • Fitnessista on May 16, 2010 at 9:11 am

      hey girl,
i’m going to do 3 days of weights, probably on tues, thurs and satuday (since thurs is a low-key day). i’ll definitely post what i do on those days, if you want to see if it works for you too! i’d devise a separate training plan, but since i’m working on the shape up, i don’t want it to be too much going on and the readers to feel confused, ya know??
hope you have a great day <3

Okay that Jellyfish is bigger than you are?!?!?!?! JEEZ !!!!

We’re all lucky it didn’t make a meal out of you Miss Gina… goodness!!!

My first debacle with one of those bad boys was so painful… it was in Key Biscayne, I was 11, in an unspoiled and gorgeous part of the Miami / Florida Keys… and the jellyfish that stung me was massive. Shudder…! Glad you’re okay though!!!

You guys look so blissed out… so happy for you! Wish it could go on for ever! But then who would protect the world, and who would train it and make sure we eat right? Sigh. 😉 I bet your pups miss you too!!! 🙂

    • Fitnessista on May 16, 2010 at 9:14 am

jellyfish stings are NO FUN – it feels much better now, though!
thank you!! i miss the pups like crazy… i can’t wait to see their furry faces 🙂
      have a great day <3

    Hi Gina,

Love you posts! I am living the tropical vacation I haven’t taken in 8 years (b/c of kids), through you. I used to go away twice a year to a club med or sandals (all inclusive) w/ my husband. Kids have changed that. Thanks for letting me live it again. Also, impressed on how good you are eating and exercises while away

    • Fitnessista on May 16, 2010 at 11:26 am

thanks michele! hope you and your hubby can get somewhere tropical soon!

  27. Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter on May 16, 2010 at 3:40 pm

I love how you stick to your normal routine of eating lots of plant-based foods. When I travel I find it very hard to do that.

    P.S. I spy Gina’s hottie extraordinaire 😉

  28. Lynn on May 16, 2010 at 6:36 pm

Your trip looks amazing! What resort did you go to?

    • Fitnessista on May 16, 2010 at 8:50 pm

thank you! i’ll give all the info on the resort on tuesday 🙂
