Its 10am Somewhere

Hi lovely friends 😀 How was your day?

Thanks for your kind words about my honker and the bangs video! I’m so glad you liked it 🙂

After dealing with a broken blog all morning, frantically trying to get ready to go, I picked up my madre.

When she got in the car, I said: I need a drink.

She looked at me kinda funny and said, “It’s 10am!”

A green drink, silly 😉

After our Whole Foods stop, we went to J. Crew where I proceeded to stress shop my face off. I picked up some great pieces that will last forever 🙂 (right?? haha) A favorite is a denim blazer that you can see peeking out of my suitcase at the end of this post. Lurve. I also got the dress….. 😉

For lunch, I made a TJs salmon burger, and enjoyed it atop two pieces of brown rice bread with capers, stone ground mustard and a drizzle of goat’s milk kefir

Despite the day’s crazy start, I managed to get lots of schtuff done!

-Car washed

-Eyeballs checked (+ new contact lenses)

-Worked

-Laundry

-Picked up madre for a meeting (my bro has been driving her car until he gets his new one)

-Packed!

Roomies and I are heading to Phoenix tomorrow to play, since my flight leaves out of Phoenix on Wednesday. So stoked 🙂

I was also surprised by a lovely package from my twinnie friends:

twin cakes2

(the front pack of cheezy crackers wasn’t empty- I munched finished munching them by the time I could get my camera out)

Raw crackers and flatbreads! Looks like my travel snacks are taken care of 🙂 Thank you, friends <3 This savory goodie pack is going to be this week’s OpenSky deal, so if you’d like the gloriousness, make sure to *enter your email here*.

Well I’m off to dance and then back to the casa to finish getting things ready.

See ya in the morning!

xoxo

Since I started reading CSD I’ve added green juice to my mornings and I really like it! Your ‘something to read’ about the vegetarians eating meat is just what I was thinking about today, but not because I’m going back to eating meat, but because I’m possibly thinking of taking a step from vegetarian to vegan after reading CSD. For now, I’m going to stop eating eggs and try to reduce dairy. I think it will be hard but I want to see if I can do it and how it affects my body. There was a lot of interesting info in CSD.

fun times! have a good trip – How do you like the TJ Salmon Burgers? I know TJ is cheaper than most stores, but I’ve found that the taste is sub par- not horrible, and in some things it’s better but I have to go on an individual product basis with them.
    Ps love the wicked canteen!

Ooooh J.Crew. Love, love, love. I can’t shop there because the prices (and my inability to buy up the entire store) just depresses me. 🙂

  33. Anna on March 15, 2011 at 9:53 am

Thanks for the link to the “Why Vegetarians Are Eating Meat” article- I actually wrote a post quite recently on the very subject. I’m a pescatarian but I ate some lamb a couple weeks ago for a lot of the same reasons laid out in the article. I still consider myself a pescatarian, but often think that supporting small ethical meat producers would have more of an impact on the system than just completely disengaging from it by not eating meat at all.

Cooking with Beer – really, it is very versatile. From beer cheese dip to stew. I never see you drink beer – not a fan? I am making Guinness brownies for my crew at work for St. Patty’s day (my most favorite day of the year). Hey, is that a bra in the mesh part of your luggage? Have a good one!

  37. Melissa on March 15, 2011 at 12:05 pm

Thank you for posting the article about “Why Veg are eating meat” I have been a vegetarian for about 19 years. I can relate to the couple in the article b/c my husband and children are not and it is a hard balance to strike. I often go bakc and forth whether I want to try meat or not… Still standing on that beam.
