Let it rain

Yep, still the same over here.

gloomy

Just looking at that pic makes me shiver. Crazy to think that if the rain keeps up, the mountains will be covered in snow this weekend! SNOW. <—something I rarely see up close, but admire from afar

Arizona people are kind of funny about snow and rain, since we don’t encounter them very often, and when it rains here, it’s usually monsoon season so it’s crazy rain. No one knows how to drive in said rain, and everyone usually stays home. It’s very normal to call someone and say “I’m not going to make it tonight.. it’s raining.” It’s understood 😉

As much as I’d like to stay home and snuggle with this little thing, I have a doctor’s appointment and then test-driving cars today.

This morning’s bfast was a little different than usual, and packed with protein! 26g.

In a bowl, I combined a container of goat’s milk yogurt, cinnamon, 1/2 scoop Sun Warrior and almond milk to thin it out

Topped with a cup of brown rice cereal and strawberries

Wow, that is some crazy weather! It’s snowing here in Ontario, but that’s not really unusual – normally we’d have at least a foot by now but there’s barely anything on the ground. I’ll take it – definitely not a winter person! Congrats on the FabFitFun mention!

  2. Claire @ Live and Love to Eat on December 2, 2011 at 11:39 am

I like the idea of seeing snow but not experiencing it – I’ll be tired of snow here in Pittsburgh pretty soon! Have a great weekend!

Congrats on the FFF mention! Love that site!!

Have fun with the test driving. It’s fun to drive new or new-to-you cars!

People here get crazy with snow and ice. The first snowstorm of the year and everyone is driving about 15 mph on the highway … except for the crazy SUV drivers with 4 wheel drive who like to hang out right on your bumper.

Hehe I wish here in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada we got to stay in for rainy days 🙁 We gotta be pretty tough out here.

    This is a average Winnipeg Winter… http://belleinthenorth.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/winnipegwinter.jpg

I wish i lived in Arizona.

    • Cat @Breakfast to Bed on December 2, 2011 at 12:35 pm

seriously, I was raised in NEOhio, and this would KILL me. I need a parka and a mush dog just looking at it.

    • Jill on December 2, 2011 at 1:06 pm

I’m a Winnipegger too! We’re actually supposed to get rain today though. Not sure where winter is, but I don’t mind! I wish we got to stay in for blizzard days, too, lol but that doesn’t happen.

  7. Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries on December 2, 2011 at 12:19 pm

Oh yes, I sure do miss Arizona weather. I’m an Arizona gal for sure! 😉

  8. Liz @ Southern Charm on December 2, 2011 at 12:21 pm

Ekk! I hope that weather clears out soon for y’all!

  9. Maria on December 2, 2011 at 12:31 pm

The mountains look peaceful 🙂 I wish we had mountains here in Chicago. Congrats on the FFF website, that’s awesome! I love that website.

  10. Lena @Fit on the Rocks on December 2, 2011 at 12:34 pm

It’s a freezing day over here, too. At least test driving your car in bad weather will give you a good idea of how well it’ll perform!

  11. Cat @Breakfast to Bed on December 2, 2011 at 12:35 pm

seriously? all that protein, your body is going to be a birthing machine. I think your baby might just run out of your vagina and do push ups.

    • Jill on December 2, 2011 at 1:10 pm

      … lmao

    • Fitnessista on December 2, 2011 at 2:10 pm

My dog defintely doesn’t like when I stop petting him and shoots me the same look. 🙂

  13. Andrea P on December 2, 2011 at 1:30 pm

Mmm that combo with goat yogurt sounds good! I’ve been mixing goats milk yogurt with cinnamon & stevia and adding chopped apple and it’s so yummy!

  14. Lara @ beingLA on December 2, 2011 at 1:39 pm

I wish it would snow here in LA. It has been SUPER windy lately, which is kind of fun, but I want more of the cold, holiday weather….I guess that’s what I get for living in Southern CA! Have a great weekend and congratulations on the FFF shout out!

  15. Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga on December 2, 2011 at 1:42 pm

Congrats on the FFF feature…and snow….Brrr!

    Stay warm!!

And test driving cars? My mom tells me a story when she was pregnant with me she drove a VW bug and literally out-grew the car in her 8th month of pregnancy. Her belly was sticking out so far she had to push the seat father and farther back and couldn’t even reach the pedals anymore. She’s only 5’1″ so she became all belly I guess!

  16. Ali on December 2, 2011 at 1:48 pm

Happy Friday to you too! Hope that you have an awesome time with the car hunt! I have a quick question for you… what is your opinion on food combining? Does it really matter or make a difference?

  17. Melissa @ Hot Chokolate Girl on December 2, 2011 at 2:07 pm

Haha. So true! Good luck with the car hunt 🙂

That’s so funny about the rain. I have clients in Baltimore and the east coast has really gotten hammered with snow these last few winters – everything just stops over there. Here, in good ole Wisconsin, we are pros when it comes to snow (although there are still some people who don’t know how to drive in it). My husband has to twist my arm to get me to take his 4 wheel drive truck instead of my rear wheel drive sports car – I’m so stubborn. Plus it’s kinda fun to spin in the snow a bit! Take care and stay dry. Enjoy your weekend and happy test driving.

FFF is great and shout outs are always nice!

im still in summer (Oz) but am off to hardcore winter (western europe) this weekend 🙁

  20. joelle (on a pink typewriter) on December 2, 2011 at 4:47 pm

Haha I’m from Las Vegas, and we are the SAME way with rain… except people are never smart enough to recognize that they are bad rainy weather drivers, and end up getting caught in flooding. Monsoon season is crazy and always surprises people not form this area.

    Happy Friday!!

  21. Kelsey @ Snacking Squirrel on December 2, 2011 at 5:09 pm

you just gave me something new to try: adding nutritional yeast on top of my eggs!! oh im excited to try it, bet it tastes fabulous 🙂

    xoxo <3

    • Fitnessista on December 2, 2011 at 7:03 pm

eggs don’t taste as good without it!

  22. Kiran @ KiranTarun.com on December 2, 2011 at 7:41 pm

I can understand about the weather — it’s been so crazy for the last 2 years. Orlando is freezing and I am unwell 🙁

Hope the “car’ shopping went great!!

  23. Lindsay on December 2, 2011 at 9:17 pm

Feel a little nosey, but what kinds of cars did you test drive? Were there any mini-vans in the running?

    • Fitnessista on December 3, 2011 at 1:21 am

Haha not yet. I drove a Honda pilot and cr-v. Wasn’t crazy about either :/

  24. Amanda on December 2, 2011 at 9:37 pm

I’m coming into town for the Tucson Marathon/Half Marathon next weekend and I really hope it’s not raining…I was thinking sun, heat, and a recovery soak in the pool! 🙂

  25. Haley @ Fit, Young, and Fabulous on December 2, 2011 at 10:37 pm

OH my gosh!! That cereal seems SO filling!! Cereal can never seem to fill me up! But adding in some yogurt, almond milk, and protein powder?! Definitely trying!! (:

  26. Shannon (Healthiful Balance) on December 3, 2011 at 5:46 am

We’ve had some crazy weather too..its been rainy and foggy all week! 🙁

  27. Raewyn on December 3, 2011 at 12:18 pm

Busted out the Turkey Treadmill Trot earlier this week = INSANE. I did it twice and was DRENCHED. I’m talking wet-hair here…whew! Needless to say, I loved it! 😀 Thanks, girlie! You are the best at putting these together!

    • Fitnessista on December 3, 2011 at 2:11 pm

      AWESOME 🙂

  28. Kristin on December 3, 2011 at 7:06 pm

Only fellow Phoenicians totally understand what you mean about the rain and weather. Oddly enough, gloomy stormy weather makes me happy. I attribute it to the desert attitude that rain means we will have less drought. I also can’t wait for it to snow up north for skiing and sledding yippeee!
