Morning friends! How’s your weekend going so far? And who has seen Harry Potter already?! I can’t wait to see it… but I need to see part 1 first. I’m a terrible HP fan.

I’ve been moving around extra quietly this morning- the Pilot and Bella are still fast asleep 🙂 I crashed out on the couch watching Couples Retreat after our Mexican fiesta feast, the Pilot carried me to bed and I slept another 8 hours. First morning in a lonnnnnng time that I haven’t hit snooze 😉

B-fast:

bfast

Almond milk coffee (1 C almond milk + 1 C coffee), and an old fave: b-fast cookie dough cereal.

When I add the frozen berries to the cereal, I’ll heat it up for about a minute to soften them- perfection.

Lunch and snacks are packed up and ready to go:

lunch

Sunshine burger in a teff tortilla with lots of lettuce, ketchup and mustard, my #1 Larabar lurve + carrots and hummus

It’s a Zumba day today!

zumba

My favorite 😀

See ya after work <3

xoxo

Gina

Something to think:

"Pick the day. Enjoy it – to the hilt. The day as it comes. People as they come… The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present, and I don’t want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future."

We’ve just started watching the Harry Potter movies with the kids. We’ve seen up to the 4th one I believe but are starting all over sicne they are getting old enough to watch them now. You see movies in a whole new way when they are asking questions about every little thing that happens lol.

  2. Ali @ urbanfruitbat on July 16, 2011 at 10:51 am

I wish you an awesome Zumba day! I am at work to, but my work is not nearly as fun as yours. Awesome quote.

  3. Sara K on July 16, 2011 at 10:52 am

I saw Harry Potter last night (and I actually JUST watched part 1 about two days ago…just a heads up I thought part 1 was ridiculously boring/tedious and just a 2.5 hour trailer for the 2nd movie, but part 2 is way better!)

    • Fitnessista on July 16, 2011 at 10:54 am

      ohhh good to know!

      • Jill on July 16, 2011 at 3:24 pm

If you love the books you’ll like Part 1 too because it actually follows them pretty closely. Part 1 IS intended to build up to the second part. That’s kind of the point. It’s still interesting if you can appreciate what’s going on!

  4. Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance on July 16, 2011 at 10:55 am

Don’t worry– I have YET to see any of the Harry Potter movies (unless you count the time that I fell asleep during the first one….)

  5. Katie on July 16, 2011 at 10:59 am

Did you like “Couple’s Retreat”? It got terrible reviews, but I was the weirdo in the theater laughing hysterically the entire time. Oh, and I want to go to that island it was filmed on now!

    • Fitnessista on July 16, 2011 at 11:11 am

i’ve seen it at least 5 times. i think it’s hilarious!

  6. Emma @ Microcosm of Life on July 16, 2011 at 11:06 am

You are lucky that you get to watch Parts 1 and 2 back to back! Part 1 ended in such an unsatisfying way, and the whole audience was like, “Huh!? Now I have to wait a year to see how this ends??” (Unless you’ve read the books, and then you already know how it ends!)
I still need to see Part 2. Perhaps a Sunday matinee at 11am? Cheap and not crowded? That’s my inner 70-year-old talking. 🙂

While the first part of the deathly hallows may have seemed boring to those who aren’t die hard fans, really I don’t think you’d enjoy the second one as much without the knowledge gained within the first one. It’s like many second to last movies in a big series (Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc) you need to have a less action packed but more informative movie at some point in order to get everyone on the same page.

Did you read the book? If so you can get away without watching the first one, if you didn’t I’d really recommend watching it or at the very least reading a spoiler or recap of it online.

As for the last one, we saw it last night, keeping in mind I’m a huge fan of the series, I bawled. It took all my strength not to sob out loud and when we left the theatre everyone was staring at me and J informed me that my face was red, my eyes were puffy and bloodshot. Classy.

But I doubt it will send everyone into fits of teardom like it did me unless they to are a super nerd-o fan like me.

    • Jacqui on July 16, 2011 at 11:43 am

      I couldn’t agree with you more…and I also bawled…though I don’t think that I really concealed the crying sniffles that I always get 🙂

Of course I went to the midnight showing, so everyone was also really into the movie….obvs I am also a super nerd-o-fan!

Im curious…what did you think of it?

    • Ash on July 16, 2011 at 2:23 pm

ditto to that. i had to keep the audible sobs down to a minimum….i cried through the entire movie. when you’re a HUGE fan (and i had just finished a book 7 re-read in preparation), every little thing meant so much! and i wasn’t the only one coming out of that theater looking all blotchy. 🙂 i thought it was perfection.

      • Jill on July 16, 2011 at 3:26 pm

Agreee! As a superfan of the series I was pretty much crying at everything. Even things that didn’t deserve tears. When everyone is standing behind Harry I was just overcome with emotion it was absolutely ridiculous haha. I missed Hedwig, too, lol.

        • Suzi @ Confessions of a Fitness Instructor on July 16, 2011 at 7:37 pm

I still can’t watch the part in part 1 when Hedwig dies, I cry just thinking about it!

I really liked part 2 but i wish they would have followed the book a little closer near the end, without spoiling things for others that haven’t seen it yet there was a conversation between harry and voldemort that they cut out that I felt really explained a lot, and I liked the way the book ended it with the wand business.

Plus I was so happy they didn’t cut out the “19 years later” part. There is one line in that part that sent me into fits of crying for 2 full weeks after reading the book the first time. I would just break into tears at any given moment thinking about it – and the same happened again when I watched it.

Just saw HP yesterday afternoon. It was everything I dreamed it would be and more. You won’t be disappointed!

  9. Holly @ The Runny Egg on July 16, 2011 at 11:35 am

I have never had any desire to watch or read HP in the past, but for some reason when I hear others talk about it then I want to start reading them all! My sisters are HUGE fans so I’m sure they’ll convince me one day!

  10. Lauren on July 16, 2011 at 11:39 am

Harry Potter was absolutely AMAZING!!!! I loves it and want to see it again….so good and so sad! I definitely cried 😉

  11. Lisa on July 16, 2011 at 11:44 am

Loved Couples Retreat, saw it twice. We’ll see HP this weekend. Seeing a Jungle Book production today; good weekend for movies and such cause it’s raining cats n dogs here for three days. At least it’s only in the 70’s.

  12. Katie on July 16, 2011 at 12:01 pm

Mike loves HP, and took me to see the one before the last, i thought it was good, we are going to see the new one, even though I have only seen one HP, lol, but Mike loves it, and has seen them all, so I support his HP love : )

p.s. Couples Retreat, haha! love that movie!

I totally needed to hear that quote today! I’m filling in for a sick coworker and today is normally my Saturday off. Instead of wishing I was off I’m just going to embrace it and make the best of my day. 🙂
    Thanks for the reminder!

I’m super excited for the HP movie… after I watch the first seven. I just finished the last book after reading the first one like 12 years ago. So, yeah, I’m a terrible fan too 🙂

Given your love of Blueberry Muffin Laerabars, I thought I would give you my recipe for homemade Blueberry Muffin Lärabars:

    (makes 6x30g bars)

    80g Dates
    60g Cashews (unroasted)
    40g Dried Blueberries
    10g Small Oats
    1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
    A Pinch of Sea Salt

    1. Start by processing the dates, together with the sea salt and vanilla essence to a rough paste using a food processor. Next, put the date paste aside in a bowl covered with clingfilm (to ensure that the date paste does not dry out while you continue with the recipe).

    2. Next, process the cashews and blueberries until the cashews are chopped into fairly small pieces (but be careful to not grind them into a powder).

    3. Transfer the processed cashews and blueberries into the same bowl as the date paste and knead to combine the two. Once all of the nut-blueberry mixture has been combined with the datepaste to form a homogenous paste, slowly start adding the oats to the mixture (I usually only use half the amount of oats mentioned above, otherwise the mixture gets to dry and does not stick together).

    4. Roll out to a rectangle that is roughly 1/2 inch thick and cut into 6 bars. Wrap well in clingfilm (to avoid drying out).

Easy-peasy and much cheaper than store-bought. Enjoy!

    Sophia

I love your Zumba outfit! I looks so bright and cheery…and COMFY!! I need that in my life. Even though I don’t Zumba…I still want the outfit 🙂

Glad you got your 8 hours in….awesome!

I actually just saw Couples Retreat for the first time this week. I thought it was pretty funny. And actually it was during a Mexican food night (Chicken Vegetable Tortilla soup) for us too!

I’m dying for the Blubeberry Larabar, I just can’t seem to find them anywhere!

  23. kaila @ healthy helper! on July 16, 2011 at 3:41 pm

I have been lovin on those bloob larabars too lately! They are just so yummy!

Just saw the new Harry Potter, and it definitely met my expectations. I recommend watching the first one and then heading out to the theater for the new one soon after. You’re lucky that you don’t have a long wait between the two. Part 1 leaves you hanging at the end. I couldn’t wait for Part 2.

  25. Jess@atasteofconfidence on July 16, 2011 at 4:18 pm

HP was so good! I saw it at 3 am and it was definitely worth it.

Hi! I was wondering if you drank decaf coffee?? I love your blog. =)

    • Fitnessista on July 16, 2011 at 11:43 pm

i’ll drink decaf or have one cup of regular

  29. Jessica on July 16, 2011 at 11:32 pm

I’ve never read any of the books, but I just saw HP and the Sorcer’s Stone for the very first time this past Thursday and just finished watching the Chamber of Secrets a few minutes ago. I can’t believe how much I like the movies so far. I still have quite a few to see before I can see the final one that’s in theatres now. Hopefully that will be in the next 2 weeks.

As for Zumba…..I really want to try the Zumba classes at my gym, but for some reason I’m scared. Really scared 🙁 I feel like I will look uncoordinated and that scares the living daylights out of me. Hopefully I will work up the courage to step away from the cardio machines and join a class or two.

    • Fitnessista on July 16, 2011 at 11:41 pm

once you try it, you’ll be hooked 🙂 don’t be scared- just have fun with it! no one is there to look like a pro 🙂
