Livi-isms

Rain boots

Girl at the car repair shop: “Where did you get those beautiful eyelashes?!”

Liv: “Disneyland.”

[Another moment of realization that she is indeed my heart walking around outside my body]

“Oh, I JUST LOVE sleeping! Sleeping is the best.”

[As we’re walking out the door to leave]

Me: “Bye dogs. Bella, be a good girl.”

Liv: “Oh, Bella. She’s a trash can.”

[I had called Bella a trash can a couple of nights before, when she had eaten our leftover food off the table. Kids NEVER FORGET.]

“Watch me. I’m going to do my mushroom face.”

[Scrunches face up into a scowl]

“See, look. I’m a mushroom.”

This last one happened during naptime. I had put Liv down to sleep almost an hour before this happened, but she had been rolling around and playing in her bed. Suddenly, she starts yelling,

“MOM. Mom, I need you.”

(And I think “Here we go again. Turn the music up, read another story, get more water to drink, etc.”)

“MOM. MOM! You forgot to put a diaper on me!”

Liv has been potty-trained during the day since this summer, but we still use diapers for naps and bedtime. Turns out that yes, I had totally forgotten to put a diaper on her for nap. Fail to me haha.

“I want a brother or a sister. I’m the only one.”

  8. Carrie on December 9, 2014 at 2:21 pm

That last one got me for sure, but I am pregnant and hormonal. 🙂 That is the sweetest thing ever. One of my biggest regrets in life is waiting so long to try for another after my daughter. There is almost a three year gap between her and the one I am pregnant with, after unfortunately losing a pregnancy in between. I can’t wait for my sweetie to have a sister!

    • Fitnessista on December 9, 2014 at 3:39 pm

awww! so excited for you <3
i already feel kind of badly that we've waited for so long (and are continuing to wait). i hope i can get pregnant again, have a safe and healthy pregnancy, i hope all of these things, but at the same time, i think we made the right choice to wait a while.

      • Carrie on December 10, 2014 at 2:31 pm

You will have plenty of time!! I think I may be a bit older than you. 😉 Despite having waited, the time line really worked for me in some ways- it is so awesome that my daughter will be really aware and able to help with the new baby. I’m sure it will be the same with Livi!

        • Fitnessista on December 10, 2014 at 2:48 pm

yes, i hope so! i think she’ll be a huge help 🙂 also, kyle and i are 4 years apart and we’ve always been very close and never fought growing up. (even though i totally made him dress like a girl sometimes haha)

So sweet. Love the last one. My 3yr old often tells me about himself and my 5 year old (they are 23 months apart) “Sadie and I were babies together, Mom, did you know that?” ?

You really never know what kids are gonna say. They’re so funny!

We’ve been working on potty training for about a month now. My son has done really great at home, but only in the past couple of weeks has he started telling us he needs to go while we’re out. We were at a restaurant the other day and he needed to go so I took him. When we came out he was so excited. He yelled across the restaurant,”Daddy, I pottied! I really did! Now you need to potty too, Daddy!” Haha

    • Fitnessista on December 9, 2014 at 3:37 pm

      hahah that is awesome!
sometimes when we’re in public restrooms, liv will sing and do “the potty dance” (a ridiculous dance i do when she goes) for ME. i’m like thanks liv hahah

  34. Jessie on December 11, 2014 at 2:57 pm

Too funny! I love the “I want a brother or sister” I’m the only one. I have a 3 yr old son and he hasn’t asked yet about a sibling. Funny everyone asks about baby number 2, huh? I get asked all the time:)

  35. Molly on December 11, 2014 at 10:38 pm

My 5 year old nephew told his mom she is a mean mommy because he doesn’t have a sister like his daddy does! (Aka me) haha. I think they get it from school when the other kids have siblings and they feel like, hey why don’t i??
