Living in my coin belt

The past 24 hours have been filled with dancing- not a bad way to start a weekend.

Last night, my work friends and I performed our bellydance at an event downtown.

Bellydance2

(Katie and I wearing normal clothes over our costumes. The legit bellydancers had sparkly coverups and tunics.. this is how we rolled)

It was an intimate setting at one of the hotels. The small performance was to honor a guest instructor who is leading a workshop this weekend, and many of the women who performed are also attending the workshop.

Bellydance

It was a lot of fun, and then this morning, I had World Beat, and teach Zumba this afternoon- lots of booty shakin’!! My unusually intense Saturday schedule made me verrryyyy glad I took the past two days off. After some down time, I can almost shampoo my hair without wincing. Winning.

I’m also very glad I had my favorite carb-bomb microwavable-pleasure on hand:

Mac

This will help power me through the next couple of classes

Mac 2

(with spinach, marinated mushrooms and hot sauce)

Choc 3

plus the usual snacks and chocolate.

Choc 2

Hope you’re enjoying your Saturday so far.

Roll tide and Bear Down <3

I just love that the usual snacks also include some chocolate! Healthy balance at its finest! Happy Saturday!

That quote is so true! For some, greek yogurt and whole wheat make them feel healthier. For, they make me sick! There is a balance that you must reach, and it is different for every person.

Hi Gina, i know that this comment has nothing to do with your post but i’ve been reading your blog for a few months and i notice that you use quinoa very often when you cook. I was just wondering something: is quinoa cheap or expensive in the US? Because in Switzerland you can only buy small bags that are quite expensive so i was just asking myself how i could deal with it? Because i can’t buy it as often as i’d like… Can i replace it with something else? Thanks 🙂

Just catching up on blogs as I’ve been super busy yoga training this weekend! I can’t believe Liv is 8 months already! The video you posted last is adorable 🙂

I haven’t tried Amy’s meals yet but I should because we have the same name 😉

    Hope you enjoyed your Sunday

Oooh! I REALLY love that Carl Jung quote…such a brilliant man with an incredibly unique mind! Glad you enjoyed your gooey mac n’ cheese 😉

What a great quote! I think it’s so important to keep that mindset in the blog world. There’s no point in judging or comparing because we are all so different!

I love Amy’s frozen meals, they are the best as far as frozen meals go. And I really like the way you incorporated it in your dish! I love your quote too, I feel like everyone has their own way to live a healthy lifestyle, so whatever works best for you, go for it! There is no right or wrong answer!
