Meg: What to wear on a rainy day

Tucson’s weather gets two GIANT thumbs up from me this week. Not only did it rain several days in a row, the temperatures are slowly dropping.  To Tucsonans, 88 degree highs are a gift from above!

I had some packages to ship and some thrifting to do today and since it was raining, I wanted a simple and natural look.

The Makeup:

First I used my Mac Studio Fix powder to even everything out. Then, I used the brow pencil to fill in my brows. Instead of my usual wing-tip eyeliner, I just lined my lid from corner to corner. To highlight my eyes, I dusted some gold eye shadow on my lids. I finished the look off with some volumizing mascara and a pink gloss.

The Outfit:

I paired this fresh-faced look with a white tank top, my new Old Navy jean jacket, my J Crew lobster necklace, skinnies, and my favorite moccasins.

This makeup/outfit combo felt ultra comfortable and it didn’t take me very long to put together.

What are your rainy day staples?

Something I can wear fuzzy socks with… be it boots or mocassins, the fuzzy socks are a must.

I love how you did your eye make-up! Can you do a tutorial post on that, please? 🙂

Living in England, my rainy day staples are essentially my everyday staples, haha.

SO opposite here! It’s dry and sunny and HOT! I envy your weather 🙂

Vicki, I live in England too and laughed out loud at this. Every day is a rainy day, haha.

I wish we had JCrew in England too, all of their stuff looks so good!

Rainy day staples: cute rain boots, skinnies, long tank top, and a cute sweater. Can’t forget the cute umbrella.

Your eyebrows look great. I would love to see a tutorial on how you do them. I bought an eyebrow pencil but I’ve been too intimidated to use it.

I second this! I could use a lesson too.

A vest with a hoodie so you don’t get your hair wet 🙂

Super cute, <3 your rainy day style! We don't get much rain in Eastern New Mexico, but when the raindrops start falling I love to rock my houndstooth galoshes with skinny jeans and a cropped trench coat.

    Such an adorable outfit!

Make up looks great! I love gold eyeshadow 🙂 I don’t know about the white shirt on rainy days here in WI, but I definitely love wearing my hunter boots if the weather calls for them.

    • Meg on September 12, 2012 at 11:50 pm

I’m dying to get some Hunter boots!

I like the make-up look! But I would have added a book to that. For me that is my rainy day staple!

That jacket is from Old Navy!? TOO CUTE!!

What does that MAC powder do? I have rosacea and I am always looking for something that can even out the patches on my face. (I sound like I have elephantitis! I swear it’s not that bad! haha!) This stuff sounds perfect!

Pretty look! When it rains here, I like a patterned dress or skirt paired with tights, long socks, and wellies. Tights dry faster than pants and I love splashing around in wellies.
