Memorial Day

While we’re enjoying a BBQ with friends,

while I’m smashing 15 avocados to make guacamole,

and Livi’s giggles are the soundtrack,

I’ll be keeping in mind the sacrifices made by so many to protect our freedoms. I’ll be praying for the families of the heroes who lost their lives,

sending love and wishes for a safe return to those fighting to defend us today.

Have a great Memorial Day! Great message, too often we skip over the fact that that these ‘holidays’ are actually ones of remembrance. Enjoy your time with your family x

Excellent Patton quote. I was watching Les Miserables (finally) the other night, bawling my eyes out and feeling really sad about the passage of time and the idea of loved ones dying. Patton is right though, I have to remember to be present and enjoy the time I have with the wonderful people in my life. I’m glad you are doing the same today!

Thank you for mentioning the true meaning of Memorial Day on your Blog. I’m saddened to read many that don’t even give a “thanks” to our men and women in uniform today. You are top-notch, Gina!
