Punch, Kick, Shake

Hey guys! Happy Fashion Friday 😀 Hope you’re having a wonderful morning <3 I’ll be back later today with the fashion style I’m loving this week 🙂

Last night, bootcamp was amazing -I love teaching that class- and I met the pilot at home for a 15-minute dinner:

dinner (2)

Here are the steps for this 15-minute meal:

-Pre-heat oven to 375* and start boiling water for the pasta

-Add the chicken to the oven with Newman’s Own Mesquite-Lime sauce and set timer for 15 minutes

-Add the pasta (I used 1.5 servings of brown rice penne) to the pot to boil

-Start the salad: I massaged some kale in a large bowl with Garlic Gold vinaigrette, extra virgin olive oil, rice wine vinegar, Garlic Gold crunchies, sea salt, cayenne and grape tomatoes

-Heat a skillet for the egg- I wanted an eggstada for my protein since the pilot was having chicken; check the pasta, drain it and spray with olive oil so it doesn’t stick

-Add the pasta back to the pot, reduce heat to medium and add 1 T butter (I used Earth balance) and 1/2 C almond milk

-Crack eggs into the egg skillet (3 egg whites for me)

-Add a handful cheese of choice to the pasta (he likes parmesan), stir quickly to melt the cheese, and black pepper

-Flip the egg

-Plate everything up 🙂

Eggstada and kale salad for me:

Kale salad, penne alfredo and mesquite-lime chicken for the pilot:

So easy and insanely delishhhh 🙂

Speaking of delish…

(I joke that it’s his Band Aid colored shirt)

I also enjoyed a heaping bowl of peach protein ice cream for dessert 😀

Amazing.

We also filmed this little video for ya’ll so that you can kind of get an idea of what TurboFire is about. (This is the Fire 30 video I reviewed yesterday)

*Keep a lookout for a special cameo somewhere in there 😉

Pretty fun, huh?

See ya later today with that Fashion Friday post <3

xoxo,

Gina

Gina, you make that look so easy and fun! 🙂

Wow, you are super coordinated! I would NEVER be able to follow a workout like that no matter how much they broke it down! But it looks like soo much fun!

Watching you do this makes me feel super unfit! Maybe you just convinced me I need to do more than just running, as this does look kinda fun… And your pilot is hilarious!

Haha, I love your video! The Pilot is a good sport. Looks like this must be a fun set of workout videos–it’s surprisingly hard to find routines that are both fun in the dance department and an effective workout, but I can see that there’s a good amount of shakin’ it goin’ on. Looks like the set is appropriately named. 🙂

That video looks FUN! But, what about those who are coordination challenged?? haha Is it taught like a dance class?

    Love the pilot’s cameo!! 🙂

    Hey Gina,
just wondering..when you make egg whites do you throw out the yolks? i used to until i felt extremely wasteful throwing away half the egg, so i had to start using packaged whites.

      hey emily,
yes, i put them down the disposal. either the garbage disposal eats it, or i do, and i don’t want all of the cholesterol (i’ll have yolk a few times a week for the nutrients, but use the whites for protein). i don’t think it’s that wasteful… it’s not like i would save the yolks for anything, ya know?

    Hey Gina,
That’s aesome that you do Turbo Fire too! we just bought it like 3 weeks ago, and absolutley love it. We even just tried the inferno plan that comes with it this past week. Chalene is awesome, and Turbo Fire is a really fun workout to get into.

LOL. that cameo at the end cracked me up. Tell the pilot he has nice moves.

Does it take a while before you are able to keep up with it or are the cues pretty good?

    • Fitnessista on July 11, 2010 at 3:28 pm

the cues are excellent, but i’m a pretty fast learner from dancing for so many years

      • Fitnessista on July 11, 2010 at 3:29 pm

the pilot said thank you hahah 🙂

You are ridiculously full of energy! And you looked like you were having a blast. It actually seems like a lot of fun! I respect that you decided not to become a Beach Body trainer so that you could give an unbiased review.

Gina, you are one baaaaaaaaaad ass aerobecizer!!!! Holy crap… my pressure was through the roof watching you…!!!

And of course no workout session is complete without being mocked by a husband… you should see mine when I zumba lol…

But seriously…respect girl! That was crazy to watch!!! 🙂

    • Fitnessista on July 12, 2010 at 8:54 am

LOL! that’s so true, he always mocks my workouts 🙂

Gina, I was catching up on your posts after my computer had a senior moment last week, and I LOVED THIS VIDEO :)! The Pilot cracked me up – maybe he should become a Beach Body trainer? Did you ever get him to try Zumba with you?

    • Fitnessista on July 13, 2010 at 8:42 am

hahah no he’s never zumba-ed with me
