Rodan + Fields giveaway

Hi friends! We’re enjoying one last day in Cali, but in the meantime, I have some fun posts planned! Today is a giveaway and Fashion post, and tomorrow: a new dance cardio video. Hope you’re having a wonderful start to your week! xo

_______________________________________________________________

My normal skincare routine would probably make some people shudder.

It involves using a little cleanser (usually Yes To brand or Juice Beauty) on the Clairsonic at night, nighttime moisturizer, and tinted SPF moisturizer for day. Once or twice a week, I feel fancy and use a LUSH face mask. That’s it. Full-on skincare/makeup routines freak me out a little bit (toner, exfoliator, makeup remover, primer, whaaaaat?!) and I always feel intimidated when I check out new products. If it ain’t broke, right?

Well, my friend Jeni has always had absolutely gorgeous skin. In the 5 years I’ve known her, it’s continued to become even more vibrant and beautiful. When she last came to visit, it was absolutely glowing, so I asked what products she’d been using. (Unlike me, Jeni knows about makeup and skincare and stuff haha.) She had started using the Rodan + Fields products (founded by the same doctors who created the ProActiv solution) and loved them so much that she became a consultant for them. Since I was curious to try it out, she offered to send me some samples when she got home. (And because she’s one of my closest friends and know it’s important to me, she also triple-checked to make sure that the products weren’t tested on animals. Rodan +Fields is cruelty-free and supported by PETA.)

When I first opened the package, I was really excited to try out the facial, lip serum and exfoliator she sent. The verdict? I absolutely loved everything. My skin looked noticeably different in a couple of weeks. Since I found the products to be extremely effective (yet gentle enough for my sensitive skin) I asked Jeni if she might be able to do a giveaway.

Here’s what one lucky winner will receive:

Rodan

Mini Facial:

You can check out more of the products on her site here and there is a solution tool to help decide what products would be best for your skin.

How to enter:

Just leave a comment with with your favorite skincare or beauty product. If I had to narrow it down to one, mine would be Moroccan oil. It makes my hair smell great and keeps the frizzies away.

I’ll pick the winner via random number generator and announce in this week’s Friday Faves post.

Hope you have a wonderful day! <3

xoxo

Gina

(Not sponsored– just wanted to support one of my best friends and spread the word about this awesome line)

Eye makeup removing lotion! Neutrogena and Maybelline make great ones! I’m too lazy to apply regular remover to a cotton ball!

  2. Jessica on July 18, 2013 at 11:50 am

I love makeup remover wipes. They’re so convenient for those days when you need to wash off a day’s worth of makeup but don’t feel like going through a huge production. Right now, I’m using and liking the Yes to Grapefruit version.

It’s important to me to pick products that cruelty free as well as free of nasty toxins that are in soooo many products these days. I’ve been on a no paraben kick since my mom was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago.

My favorite is probably this spray toner I have from Jason cosmetics-
It has been really refreshing this summer.

  5. Emily on July 18, 2013 at 1:33 pm

I don’t wear much make-up, but I do think the new BB creams are great. ALso love the Rosebud lip salve, just like you.

  7. Meredith on July 18, 2013 at 3:05 pm

I love my Eucerin night time face lotion…enough to keep my skin from drying out, but not too heavy as to leave me feeling greasy!

  8. Abbie on July 18, 2013 at 3:18 pm

My favorite skin product would definitely be my clarisonic!

  9. Racheal on July 18, 2013 at 3:31 pm

I’m WAY into lightweight products for summer:
Neutragena face cream with SPF 15 rocks and I just started using BB curl creme and I love it!

For me, it’s a toss up between coconut oil (as a moisturizer/conditioner) and St. Ive’s Apricot Scrub. I’ve been using them both for years and cannot imagine life without them!

  12. Justine on July 18, 2013 at 4:12 pm

  17. Lindsey on July 18, 2013 at 7:01 pm

My favorite beauty item is the classic Ponds Cold cream. I have been putting it on my face nightly since I was a teenager and have never experienced dry skin since.

Definitely Dr. Dennis Gross tinted moisturizer….I’m low maintenance (aka lazy) when it comes to makeup and this moisturizer is quick and easy. Bonus,…I’ve never had so many people ask “what did you do? You’re skin looks amazing”. It’s magic elixir!

  24. Leah on July 18, 2013 at 11:01 pm

I love the body shop tea tree oil moisturizer. I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my skin!

  31. Cora Dotson on July 19, 2013 at 10:59 am

Josie Moran Argan Oil. I use it on my face, hair, and nails. Anywhere I need moisture. Here in New Mexico that = everywhere!

  32. Emily on July 19, 2013 at 11:03 am

Clinique’s moisturizer. It is super basic and the only one that gives me enough moisture without bothering my skin.

  33. Elise on July 19, 2013 at 11:15 am

Also if anyone is interested in a supplemental income Rodan and Fields is great a great company to work for and it is not a party company.

One of the products you are recommending contains:

Water, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Echium Plantagineum Seed Oil, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Carnitine, Pichia Anomala Extract, Canola Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Urea, Triacetin, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Xanthan Gum, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Polysilicone-11, Carbomer, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, BHT, Sodium Hydroxide

There are several ingredients here that are very harmful..esp the phenoxyethanol. Please be careful.

cetaphil face wash changed my life!

  41. ErikaKuhn on July 31, 2013 at 7:53 pm

Cetaphil! Makes my skin smooth and super clean feeling.
In my 20s I had acne and Rodan &Field’s Proactiv saved me from hiding in shadows and dim lighting. Serious life changer.
