Saturday Night in Vegas

Hi guys! How are you?? Thank you so much for the sweet comments on our Zumbathon. I can’t wait to do another fundraiser even though it hurts to be alive right now– I am SO sore. WAY more sore than the day after a half marathon! Zumba is no joke 😉

Last night, my boss at the gym took me out for dinner as a little farewell. We went to Two Friends and I got the toonie + a glass of Riesling

tuna

Then we before we knew it, we all ended up in VEGAS!

Please don’t get too excited… not this Vegas:

THIS Vegas:

A nightclub here in Valdizzy 🙂 The Pilot and I almost never go out on the weekends- we’ll hang out with friends or do the dinner party thang, but haven’t been clubbing in forever. I felt so old, haha.

We were even picked up in this super sweet shuttle, which took us all home at the end of the night, too.

There was some of this…

Some of this:

LOTS of dancing (my poor legs!!!)

and some of THIS.

It was a good night with great friends 🙂

This morning, I munched some breakfast cookie dough cereal, made the Pilot some eggs and French toast, and now we’re about to run our Sunday errands and perhaps jump in the pool. The gym is out today (definitely taking an off day after the Zumbathon), but I see a yoga podcast in the near future.

Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday!

See ya tonight <3

xoxo

Gina

Did anyone else end up doing something totally random on their Saturday night??

I stayed in on a Saturday night! 🙂 I’m not a huuuge clubber but I usually do *something* with my friends or Manfriend on the weekends. Last night I craved peace and quiet. And it was fantastic 🙂 🙂

I watched some of Charade (an old movie on TV) and passed out early. yeah! exciting right– ? I think living as young person in old people land Florida seeped into my bones

      • Dana Marie on September 12, 2010 at 1:13 pm

        thanks for the picks!

I used to be a big club-and-party girl (sorority girl right here yall), but in the past year or so I’ve been totally a home-body. The boyf and I are always commenting on how old we are since we like to stay home on Saturday nights cuddling and watching movies. Last night Boyf had family stuff to attend to so I went out – lots of friends are in town for the Jewish holiday visiting family so we all had a little reunion at a sports bar. Waking up with a hangover … well … now I know why I stopped going out. But it was fun!!

  4. Whitney on September 12, 2010 at 1:20 pm

haha looks like so much fun! We hardly ever go out anymore either, but when we do it’s a blast. I think you should enjoy your much needed day off 🙂

  5. Jessica @ How Sweet It Is on September 12, 2010 at 1:40 pm

Hahahha at first I was like… omgosh I wish I could just jet off to Vegas. 🙂 Glad you have fun!

  6. LisaG on September 12, 2010 at 1:40 pm

I stayed up late watching 12 innings of braves baseball and a hallmark movie! Wild, huh? I’m pooling it today too, perfect day.

  7. Kate on September 12, 2010 at 1:45 pm

Going to the pool sounds super fun! Wish I could… but I’m stuck in the library studying for Pharmacology and Parasitology. Woohoo 🙁

  8. Erika @ Food, Fitness, & Fun on September 12, 2010 at 1:50 pm

I am ALWAYS sore after a full night of dancing! Enjoy your well-deserved day off! 🙂

  9. Felicia (A taste of Health with Balance) on September 12, 2010 at 1:57 pm

Usually we just get a movie and snuggle on the couch (the bf works 12 hour shifts friday thru monday–yes, opposite of the rest of the world!) on Saturday nights. However, last night we were extra super cool and spent our evening doing homework and studying for school–sexy, we know!! 🙂

Do you know of any websites or podcasts for Zumba? I’d like to try it but can’t pay to go to a class…

  11. Jess on September 12, 2010 at 2:01 pm

Once upon a time I used to stay out late. I was usually the one in deep conversation with a new friend in a corner at the after-party—that’s how my boyfriend and I met! But then work and grad school happened…Late last night we took a nice, long walk around NYC, enjoying the nice weather. We hardly ever have a chance to do that, but it’s one of my favorite “date night” activities : )

  12. Tayla on September 12, 2010 at 2:03 pm

Your dinner out looked really nice! What a nice boss 🙂 My sisters had a music concert at home, guitar & singing, really fun! They are so talented. I sure didn’t inherit any music genes, but I made a bunch of food! lol.

  13. Faith @ lovelyascharged on September 12, 2010 at 2:50 pm

I’m not going to lie, a good night out once in a while is just what life calls for! Last night I pulled an impromptu girls night in with several old roomies, several bottles of wine and a few sad attempts at learning the Wii 🙂 Good times!

  14. Christina @ Food.Fun.Fabulous on September 12, 2010 at 2:53 pm

My Saturday night was spent watching a movie with the boyfriend, it’s our usual thing. We aren’t really clubbers either

  15. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on September 12, 2010 at 2:55 pm

I was out til 3am last night. Glad to see I wasnt the only one keeping some late hours! Way to have fun, live life, I was GLAD when I saw you didnt blog. It meant you were out doing something much more fabulous than blogging 🙂

Scott and I used to go out ALL the time. With Skylar though, not so much now. As in almost never, but that’s what parenthood means at this stage of life. I have plenty of going out memories and it’s not like I am a hermit or anything, I still get out 🙂

Glad you all had FUN!!!!!!!! Enjoy your Sunday, Gina!

    🙂

  16. VeggieGirl on September 12, 2010 at 3:01 pm

    I went salsa-dancing at a club until 2:00am 🙂

  17. Tina on September 12, 2010 at 3:04 pm

Nope. Nothing random in these parts. I DID randomly have my friend do a body shot off of me a couple Saturdays ago for her bachelorette party. The crazy part is…I’m halfway through pregnancy. All for good fun and a crazy memory for my friend. Gotta live in the moment! 😉

Hope your body doesn’t hurt too much as the day goes on.

  18. The Hot and Fit on September 12, 2010 at 3:04 pm

  27. Lauren on September 12, 2010 at 4:39 pm

Ahh such fun! 🙂 I boarded a party bus and went to Medieval Times with about 30 people. How’s that for a rando Saturday night!

    • Fitnessista on September 12, 2010 at 7:52 pm

that’s so awesome! i haven’t been there in wayyy too long 🙂

  28. Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine on September 12, 2010 at 5:13 pm

Such a fun night!! Even if it’s not the norm, it’s nice to do something kind of crazy and silly every once in awhile 🙂 Last night I went to two dinners at two different restaurants and ordered tiramisu for dessert at both. Food septuplets. I was so happy.

    • Fitnessista on September 12, 2010 at 7:52 pm

      YUMMMM! septuplets- haha 🙂

  29. Gracie @ Girl Meets Health on September 12, 2010 at 6:08 pm

I love that the two of you went out dancing. I always say how I want to still have FUN when I’m married – clubbing included 😉

  30. holly @ couchpotatoathlete on September 12, 2010 at 6:53 pm

I have never been to a club with my husband — hopefully we will do that soon before we get too old…You and the Pilot are too funny, I’m glad you both are still keeping things exciting 🙂

Is that a floral dress that you are wearing? Where from?

    • Fitnessista on September 12, 2010 at 7:51 pm

yes! you need to go at least once 🙂
      yep, from express

  31. Cara Craves... on September 12, 2010 at 7:35 pm

Sounds like you deserve a day to relax!
Hopefully you were able to rest your legs a bit.

  32. Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter on September 12, 2010 at 9:44 pm

What fun! I hung out with my friends grandma and all of her friends as we watched Tennis, 3 football games and a baseball game on TV haha.

  33. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on September 12, 2010 at 10:10 pm

I went out to a club for the first time in ages this weekend too! I forgot how fun it can be. 😀 But it’s also so tiring. My legs are killing me today from all that dancing.

  34. sassy molassy on September 12, 2010 at 10:23 pm

Whew, sometimes I love being that sore, but not when it inhibits what you can do the following days. 😉 We don’t have many places to do Zumba in Eugene, OR, but I’ve really been wanting to try it out.

  35. Brigid on September 13, 2010 at 10:03 am

I had a tea party for my birthday on Saturday afternoon, and we spent Saturday night at the symphony. It was the opposite of clubbing, I guess, haha. It was a blast, though!

  36. Gina on September 13, 2010 at 1:25 pm

We spent the day at the UW vs. Syracuse football game (a company outing) then got some pizza and called it a night. I’ve been wanting to sleep like 10 hours weekend nights!

  37. shelly@campinggirlchronicals on September 14, 2010 at 7:25 am

I can’t imagine how sore you must be. Zumba is so fun but tough, especially when you do it for that long!
