Saves the Day

Hey heyyyyy 😀 How is your weekend going?

Mayjah huge gigantic apologies for the blog down time this morning. I was going to throw a note up, but when I woke up, my web wizard was already hard at work transferring the blog to a new server. Alas, she was being a little hormonal and made the task more difficult for him (SO much data to transfer + some files that were corrupt and needed to be mended). All is well now and ready for the new design launch on Monday! The good news is that with my new server, I won’t be crashing all the time anymore. That’s very exciting 😀

Work today was so much fun. I got to take a world beat class, using LIVE drummers (I was in love), Zumba, work as weight room supervisor, and watch/observe stretch, drills and a beginning class. My first week is over and I’ve learned so much.

I also learned that on some days, I’m going to have to bring extra fuel. Today, was one of those days.
Today I started the morning with a bowl of brown rice farina and blueberries:

bfast

+ green tea

and packed up some snacks for today:

snacks

2 amazeballs, strawberry Sun Warrior smoothie and a coconut water

For lunch, I finally cooked up some of the tempeh bacon that’s been marinating in the fridge:

bacon

and made one of the best wraps I’ve had in a looooong time.

wrap

Brown rice tortilla, grapeseed veganaise, Dijon, lettuce, tempeh bacon. I die.

As incredibly foodgasmic as it was, it didn’t do the trick as far as hunger goes. Thank goodness for a hefty lunch break, so I could come home and make one of these:

muffin (2)

Stuffed with chocolate and topped with almond butter. Mmm yeah.

So I’m home from quite a whirlwind day and am going to sit in silence in my pajamas for a second, before cranking out some work stuff and going out with friends 😉

What are you up to tonight?

Hope you have a wonderful evening and I’ll see ya in the morning!

xoxo

Gina

Tonight, I went out to dinner with a friend and my plan for the rest of the evening is to stay in and relax. Yes, I know… I’m 26 going on 76. 🙂

I love seeing your packed lunches/snacks — gives me ideas for what I should bring to work!

Jason and I just got back from dinner — and yes it is 9:15pm but I’m ready to go to bed. I’m exhausted.

Just chillin and watching TV tonight! We were out in the sun today for a few hours and it really drained us! 90+ already in Florida, and humid! And we will be at a beach picnic tomorrow! Hope there is a really nice breeze!

    • Fitnessista on April 30, 2011 at 10:21 pm

      beach picnic?! that sounds heavenly

How did you work up to working out so much? I’m kind of just starting out exercising (again…for the millionth time!) and I can barely run a mile or take one Zumba class. I would like to work up to running for 30-45 minutes and doing weights and some classes (not necessarily all in the same day ) and I’m wondering how to increase my endurance threshold. Thanks, Gina! 🙂

    • Fitnessista on April 30, 2011 at 10:19 pm

slow and steady wins the race 🙂 add on 5 minutes every few weeks and before you know it, you’ll be up there! couch to 5k is a great program for that
i’m used to it.. i’ve danced my entire life- in high school and college i danced for 4-5 hours everyday

Brown rice tortilla, grapeseed veganaise, Dijon, lettuce…I LOVE Vegenasise and it’s the base of about 17 of my dressing recipes on my site and i eat vegenaise daily. Yes, I do. And I love it. Love the wrap action, mmm, good!

Blog issues, downtime, server migrations, new site unveiling…dear lord girl. You have had to have been having some stressful moments lately, like tons of them!

Not to mention a little thing like starting a brand new job this week AND Pilot traveling. Chaos and stress much? You are handling it all like a CHAMP!

Can’t wait to see the new site and i bet you are soooo glad that it will be done and up and running!

I’m glad you’re loving your new job! I can’t wait to hear how it goes when you start teaching. 🙂

I was lame-o last night and spent the night in my PJs in front of my tv. Sometimes that’s just all I want to do on a Saturday night!

  18. Dana Marie on May 1, 2011 at 8:03 am

omg you were totally in my dream last night – prob because I looked at your blog before going to bed after a 15 hour day on set starting at 5am.
Is there a recipe for your grapeseed veganese?

  19. Stephanie on May 1, 2011 at 8:26 am

I love drumming. I’ve wanted to be a drummer my entire life. Drum lessons are on my to-do list. Today, I’m going to finish getting the house ready to sell. My husband flew to Iceland for the weekend, so I’ll also probably spend some time being jealous of him.

  20. Chelsa on May 1, 2011 at 9:37 am

Which veganaise do you buy? I used to buy it but it had soy and that irritates my stomach. Is there a soy free one?

    • Fitnessista on May 1, 2011 at 5:57 pm

the grapeseed one has soy in it, but my homeopath said it was ok… so i eat it.. and it is delicious. doesn’t bother my stomach, either

  21. Steph @ Steph's Life in Motion on May 1, 2011 at 11:32 am

That drumming class sounds exciting and different!

On a different note, I found some raw macaroons at Whole Paycheck yesterday and…..holy foodgasms they are good! I’m sure yours (since you’ve got so many interesting flavors) are even better!!! Must. Have. Recipe. Now. 🙂

  22. Moni'sMeals on May 1, 2011 at 12:24 pm

glad you are back! these meals look great! drumming is the best, rock band baby!

  23. Amber B on May 1, 2011 at 2:05 pm

Hey Gina! Quick question: Do your smoothies not separate and get weird when you pack them to take to work? You post that you pack them up a lot pre-made, which is great as long as they hold together…?

    • Fitnessista on May 1, 2011 at 5:56 pm

they totally separate, but i shake them up before drinking them and keep them in the fridge at work. it works out really well

  24. Allison @ Food For Healing on May 1, 2011 at 2:39 pm

    border….).

    • Fitnessista on May 1, 2011 at 5:56 pm

it’s publisher violation to post it here, but if you click the link, i included a way to find it 🙂

  27. Sam on May 1, 2011 at 4:46 pm

    • Fitnessista on May 1, 2011 at 5:56 pm
