Showers and Flowers

Hey guys! Hope you’ve had a wonderful and relaxing day <3 Congrats to those of you who were racing machines this morning! I did a race, too… in my sleep 😉

It’s glooooomy and pouring outside.

A little sunshine…

flowers

Flowers from the pilot <3

and a breakfast cookie!

Today’s mix-ins were maca, cinnamon and goji berries.

We ran some errands and cleaned up around the casa,

then had an epic lunch.

Yup. I said it 😉

I’ve reduced my seafood intake a little since I was eating it everyday and worried about the mercury levels in my blood. Now I’m having seafood about twice a week, and I’d been thinking about that smoked salmon all week 😀 It was ridiculous.

I’m off to see Letters to Juliet with Jeni and her MIL, but first the pilot and I are going to do some damage on this raw strawberry tart leftover from girls night. It’s been chilling in the freezer, waiting to be eaten.

Have a Happy Sunday!

LOTS of fun stuff (Summer Shape Up and a giveaway) going down tomorrow 😀

xoxo,

Gina

aaahhh! smoked salmon 🙂 it will forever make me think of sunshine & sandals resorts. Do you have a favorite kind? we sometimes get one at costco that rocks, and the greenwise Publix here has a good one. We had sushi night a la casa last night, and you know I stuffed my face with the leftover salmon 🙂 so good!

i got that one from trader joes and it was amazing 🙂 will totally remind me of sandals resorts every time, too!

  4. Sana on June 6, 2010 at 4:03 pm

I was also eating seafood everyday and I just stopped all together. It is just one of those things that you can ease out of. I loved letters to Juliet!!!

    • jessica on June 6, 2010 at 9:52 pm

Is there a reason you stopped? Fatty fishes like salmon have so many health benefits that are hard to find elsewhere in nature.

      • Fitnessista on June 6, 2010 at 9:54 pm

yeah i totally agree- salmon is my favorite. i was eating it every day though, sometimes twice a day

  5. emptyjar on June 6, 2010 at 4:07 pm

i dont think you have to worry about mercury with salmon…mercury is more prevalent in tuna and swordfish and shark.
salmon and white fish are good to go in more abundance.

Fresh flowers always brighten my day!

I’d never had smoked salmon until I dated Isaac and was introduced to the bagel, cream cheese, smoked salmon combo. Your egg version looks so delicious!

Hope your weekend is going well Gina.

I don’t eat much seafood anymore because of the mercury, but it’s my fave…what kind of smoked salmon do you buy? I’m always worried about which brands are the best…

What gorgeous flowers! So nice of the pilot to bring you some 🙂 Enjoy that tart!!

  25. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on June 6, 2010 at 9:22 pm

i think it’s good to be mindful of mercury levels but a rule of thumb is the larger the fish, the more mercury it has. it has eaten all the other smaller fish, and it’s carrying their toxic load too…so you’d want to avoid say swordfish and mackeral and such at all costs. That’s a little pre-pregnancy trivia for you for one day if you ever find yourself freaking out re mercury. Just eat smaller fish. Tilapia is “green light” compared to say a huge king tuna. Sorry to be all Alton Brown science lesson on you LOL

Did my show girl. I am so happy! Have a great week honey! I am moving back to San Diego on Tues…cannot wait!
    xo

Hmmm…not posting, so I’m going to try this without the http://www...

    This might make your day:

Plus, I think I read somewhere that farmed salmon is more eco-concious? Anyway, enjoy your fishies!
