Sparkly Lights to a Valdizzy Night

Hi guys 😀 Hope you’ve had an awesome day.

Mine has been a doozy. Something about traveling takes the life out of me– especially since both flights were BuMpY!

Goodbye to the city of lights… You were good to us 😀

strip

Coming home is always a little blah, but when you get to see a face like this
bell

And this

vies

(Viessy was smiling at me)

It makes everything better 😀

Here are some of the eats from today:

Larabar on the plane

larabar

Oatmeal + supplies

oats

I LOVE green Vega oats 😀

oats (2)

Peppermint  tea

tea

Chocolaahhhhhhhte

choc

And when I walked through the door to the casa, the first thing on my mind was VEGGIES

salad

My current favorite beast: Salad with Creamy Dijon Basil Dressing and Millet Croutons

I took it kinda easy with the food because Ashley is on her way over to do the Insanity Fit Test with me. All of the hopping and jumping wouldn’t bode well with a food baby. After our workout, it will definitely be DINNERTIME 😀

Thanks so much for hanging out during our Vegas adventure. I know it’s more interesting to read about everyday stuff on blogs (for me at least.. it kind of makes it like Reality TV), but I’m back now and irregular posting will resume tomorrow. I’ll also start to tackle my inbox mountain.

See ya in the morning with a fun goal for the day <3

Off to get INSANE 😀

Gina

I know what you mean about being blah when you get home, I get the same way and I don’t live in Valdosta! I can’t wait to hear more about Insanity. Question do you need any equipment for it besides your body weight?

    • Fitnessista on April 26, 2010 at 7:51 pm

      nope it’s all body resistance!

I can’t believe you are working out when you had a loooong flight the same day! Traveling just drains me way to much to do that.

Glad you made it home safely. Looking forward to a new week of fun/workouts/eats. Have a great night!

  19. Lisa O on April 26, 2010 at 10:46 pm

I loved your recap of Vegas, it was so much fun! My husband and I leave for our round the world trip in just over 2 weeks and we’ll be in Vegas from May 24 to 28, so seeing your pics made me extra excited!
Looking at prices, we were thinking of the MGM Grande – do you think this is a good place to stay? I’d love to stay at the Bellagio but might be a bit out of our price range seeing as we need our money to stretch over 6 months of travelling… The Flamingo looks fun, would you recommend it?
    Thank you! xo

    • Fitnessista on April 27, 2010 at 7:46 am

the flamingo was great- we upgraded our rooms though because we heard the reg ones weren’t as nice. mgm grand is awesome (i stayed there when i was a younging) but the only thing is that it’s pretty far down the strip.

  20. Terrie on April 26, 2010 at 10:50 pm

Just curious…where do you get those little cups of oatmeal? They’ve got to be better for me than “that big brand” Instant Oatmeal (and since every time I try to make steel-cut oats on the stovetop, they come out like little bits of rubber in a pool of slime :p).

    Thanks!

    • Kyla on April 26, 2010 at 10:58 pm

I’m pretty sure that’s oatmeal from Starbucks or the bizzle as Gena would say 😀

    • Fitnessista on April 27, 2010 at 7:45 am

      starbucks 🙂

  21. Laury @ thefitnessriot on April 26, 2010 at 11:14 pm

Glad you made it back in one piece 😉

I ♥ Vegas, mucho. Loved your trip highlights.

What’s the deal-io with the oats you are munching on? Are they your own instant oats portioned out? How do you get it to be the right consistency with no micro? JW– always looking for breakfast ideas other than Lara, Odwalla and Clif when I go on vacay or weekends down shore….

    • Fitnessista on April 27, 2010 at 7:44 am

i got them at starbucks- they have wonderful oats 🙂

  22. Lauren @ BIOCHEMISTA on April 27, 2010 at 12:07 am

Glad you had a great vaca!!! So nice of you to post when you’re on vacation!!! 🙂 🙂 I luuuuurrrrve that mint dark choc!!! mmmm

  23. Kellie on April 27, 2010 at 12:37 am

I want to try to Vega protein. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive.

  24. Christie on April 27, 2010 at 1:47 am

That chocolate looks tasty- I am a sucker for anything MINT & CHOCOLATE.

What did you think? What’s your honest opinion/review?

    ~Christie

    • Fitnessista on April 27, 2010 at 7:44 am

it was good, but not minty enough for me.

  25. Romy on April 27, 2010 at 2:27 am

Hi Gina! I love to read about your travels too!! Never ever think that we don’t 😀 I love to travel myself and am always happy to read about your trips 😀 Thank you so much for this amazing blog!!!

  26. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on April 27, 2010 at 3:31 am

Welcome home and have loved your Vegas posts..We got married in vegas 10 yrs ago for $199 bucks with plastic flowers and a 24 exposure kodak disposable camera. And they said it wouldnt last. A kid and 10 yrs later. I love Vegas. love the Bellagio. The restaurant there called Michael Mina (formerly Aqua) is my fave restaurant in the entire world. Period. I have loved your trip 🙂

  27. Tracey @ I'm Not Superhuman on April 27, 2010 at 8:20 am

Welcome back. I loved your trip postings–probably because I was living vicariously through you. I agree: Coming home isn’t so fun. Usually there’s a mountain of laundry I need to do, which kills the vacation mood.

  28. Kristin (Cook, Bake and Nibble) on April 27, 2010 at 8:23 am

Love the puppers pics- and welcome home!

How does the Vega taste? I want to try it, but I’m a bit hesitant… I love green smoothies, but I’m not a fan of “green powder”… and I hate weird textures. Thoughts?

    • Fitnessista on April 27, 2010 at 8:54 am

it’s kind of chalky, but i think it tastes great

  29. Catherine on April 27, 2010 at 9:16 am

Hmm I think I need to try that Vega powder… I’m just not a fan of my current brown rice protein powder. Plus, anything Brandon Brazier does is pretty fab in my opinion. Happy you made it home safe! Question – what does an insanity fit test entail exactly??

    • Fitnessista on April 27, 2010 at 10:09 am

i love all of the vega products 🙂
you do as many reps as you can of one exercise for one minute. you write down how many you did, he gives you 30 seconds of rest, and then you do the next exercise. it’s only 25 minutes, but it’s KILLER

  30. Mo on April 27, 2010 at 9:16 am

Nothing like a smiling puppy! How cute. We don’t leave our furry child often, he doesn’t eat when we’re gone. Never been to Vegas – I just hate gambling, but from what I hear, there’s plenty else to do. How was your weather? Did you get some pool time in too? I have a difficult time taking vacation – too many deadlines that can’t be missed and I have to try to work around everyone else’s time off . . . so I live vicariously thru you! Thanks for all the great pictures!

    • Fitnessista on April 27, 2010 at 10:08 am

haha that banana had traveled with me from vegas.. it got a little banged up in my purse 🙂

  32. Christina on April 27, 2010 at 9:42 am

LOL your puppies do look like they’re smiling at you!

I cannot get over how green your oatmeal sludge is! Yummy? 🙂

  34. Cassie @ A Very Busy Mind on April 27, 2010 at 4:49 pm

I agree that every day posts are generally more entertaining (which is kind of ironic, really), but I enjoyed your Vegas posts! That could simply be because is was VEGAS, though… 😉
