Spring Fever Workout + Playlist

Helloooooo 😀 Happy Indian Food Wednesday! Hope you’re having a lovely morning.

I overslept by an hour (how does that happen?!) and am looking a little like this….

morning Source

Hahaha.

At least breakfast was legendary 😉

french toast

I made some basic brown rice French toast, cooked in organic butter

toast

and a blueberry sauce by simmering organic blueberries, along with some Meyer lemon peel and the juice of 1/2 lemon.

sauce

Plopped said sauce onto said toast,

french toast (2)

and enjoyed it with some green tea + more lemon.

tea

Beautimous 🙂

Today is a little cray cray, per usual, but I’m stoked for dance tonight 🙂

The plan:

-Take the madre to work (she let my bro borrow her car since his is acting up)

-Walk Bella

-Yoga with friends

-Work all afternoon

-Acupuncture tonight

-Dance!

See ya later today <3

xoxo

Gina

Something to talk about: Are you a morning person, or do you hate the mornings like me? It’s definitely gotten better since I started seeing my homeopath (my hormones were backwards- low in the morning and high at night, which gave me a second wind at night), but I don’t think I’ll ever be a fan of waking up early 😉

Something to do: Check out this Spring Fever playlist and workout recommendations! I made it this morning just for you 🙂 New tunes to get you through your next cardio sesh and if you’d like, the suggested intensity changes can be done on cardio equipment of your choice (elliptical, spin bike, treadmill).

tree

1. “Don’t Let Me Fall” B.o.B [Warm Up]

2. “Whoa Oh (Me vs Everyone)” Forever the Sickest Kids [Quick steady state]

3. “What the Hell” Avril Lavigne [SPRINT during every chorus and then bring it back down to a quick pace during the verses and bridge]

4. “F*ck You” Cee Lo Green [Recover- steady state, a little slower]

5. “E.T. (feat Kanye West)” Katy Perry [Climb- every 30 seconds add in resistance or increase your incline- decrease your speed as necessary. Steep, heavy climb]

6. “Born this Way” Lady Gaga (It took about a week for me to *like* this song, and now I love it) [Quick tempo]

7. “Fed Up” DJ Khaled (feat Usher, Young Jeezy, Drake and Rick Ross) [Rolling hills- add in resistance every 30 seconds, hold it for 30 seconds, then bring it back down]

8. “Jungle Flames” DNC [SPRINT- sprint during the chorus. You’ll want to- it’s a fun song]

9. “Alegretto” Bond [Climb with tempo. Add in resistance and speed up your tempo along with the changes in the music- you’ll feel it]

10. “Rolling in the Deep” Adele [Cool down and stretch]

Hey Gina – how much are the dance classes? I’ve been eyeing them since you announced them and think I might finally come out to one. I’ve recently gained a bunch of weight and need to get into a new routine and Dance Trance sounds like so much fun!

Mornings are my fave! If given the choice, I’d take a sunrise over a sunset anyday! I feel completely lazy and guilty if I haven’t started my day by 8am.

The tunes on your playlist are great. I’ve been really digging Bedouin Soundclash and Coeur de Pirate’s “Brutal Hearts” — great for long, slow stretches.

I am a total morning person when I don’t have to rush around to get anywhere i.e. the weekends. Weekdays, not so much. I hate waking up at 5:00 – 5:30 am every morning to rush around to get out the door at 7am to leave for work. It is brutal! On the weekends I have no problem waking up whenever!

Gina, I was wondering what levels your homeopath checked because I am the EXACT same way! I’m curious to see if my levels are outta whack too…. Hope that’s not too intrusive a question! Call me up at 9:00 pm and I’m ready to go! Call me up at 6:00 am and I’ll want to punch you in the face! I hate that!

I hope someone opens a DT in my area soon! It sounds like sooo much fun!

      i’m the SAME way.
i actually can’t remember what hormones were messed up. it was a pretty thorough test and who knows where i put the paperwork in the orlando moving mess :/

I don’t want to sleep in until noon, but my body clock is happiest when I go to bed at midnight and wake up at 8:00 or 9:00. It’s not getting up that I mind…it’s rushing around in the morning that makes me cranky. In the perfect world, I’d wake up and not have to be anywhere for at least 2 hours, which would give me time to walk the dog, eat, read blogs…all of the really important stuff!

I wouldn’t call myself a morning person, but I do go to the gym at 5 AM. I just roll outta bed, change into my workout clothes and head out the door. It works for me, because I’m too tired to think of clever ways to talk myself out of going. By the time I get there, I’m awake and I feel so energetic afterward. Love the playlist with the suggested intensities! It’s so helpful. Thank you!!!

  9. i slept in by 2 hours today…i cant believe my alarm didnt go off! im not a morning person and will quite happily sleep in, morning runs dont work for me.
im coming over for breakfast mmmk?

  10. Antoinette on March 2, 2011 at 7:33 pm

I’m most definitely not a morning person. I need to watch the morning news for like a half hour to slowly wake up. And don’t try talking to me before 9am unless you want a yes or no answer. But really any other time of the day I’m a really nice person!

  11. Haley on March 2, 2011 at 7:38 pm

I love getting new playlists! Thanks for doing that 🙂

I’m definitely a morning person (by 9 pm I’m faaading). That’s when I have the most energy and feel the greatest. I also find my workouts are MUCH more productive in the mornings 🙂

I love mornings! I like that they’re so quiet and no one else is awake but me. Plus, I love breakfast. 😀

  13. Anna on March 2, 2011 at 10:55 pm

I am not a morning person but as long as I get the sleep I need I can make it work. Just don’t try to have a conversation with me before my brain gets rolling 🙂

  14. Krystle on March 3, 2011 at 3:22 am

Those blueberries look amazing!! I have to make some soon!! YUM! And I am def NOT a morning person!

  15. Kathie on March 3, 2011 at 8:33 am

    Thanks for the awesome playlist!

  16. Marta on March 3, 2011 at 12:02 pm

I’m sure you’ve mentioned it, but what sort of appt did you make with the homeopath to get your levels checked out? Do you have to go on any sort of recurring basis? I would love to try it out, as I seem to have similar issues to you.

  17. Danielle @ InDeesKitchen on March 3, 2011 at 1:54 pm

Not a morning person at all – but, I’m trying lately! I’m just going by that whole ‘if you do something for 21 days in a row, it becomes habit’ saying.

Gina – I have been “lurking” for a few weeks and Love your Blog. I live about an hour and 15 minutes away from Trader Joe’s and am going to make a trip on Sunday. Do you have any favorites or recommendations? I am going big and stocking up since I can’t get there very often!!! Thanks-Lori
