Still Going Strong

Hey everyone! How’s your humpday goin’?? Thank you so much for your sweet compliments on my four eyes. I still feel a little weird wearing them, but like Tim Gunn says, I’m making it work 😉

So, I received a funny comment a couple of days ago asking if almond butter and I had broken up.

lover

The photographic proof that we’re still going strong:

empty

In fact, we were just seen canoodling at the Ivy yesterday. I’m just sayin’ 😉

This morning, I had a glorious bowl of chia pudding to start the day.

chiaaaa

Chia seeds, almond milk, Sun Warrior vanilla protein, lots of cinnamon and mesquite, and a sliced nanner.

Guess it was a good choice, because I met with a potential client who ended up buying a 24 pack. Sahweeeeet 😀

After that, I went to Publizzle and the health food store for goodies –Jeni is having girls night at her house tomorrow- and got some fun new things on top of the usual staples.

Coconut aminos (basically soy-free soy sauce, made with coconut sap!)

aminos

And this tea because it’s trendy right now 😉

tea

I had a giant mug while I got to work on some un-cooked treats….

Raw pumpkin pie crusts

crust

(in the dehydrator now and will be filled tomorrow)

and Raw Gingerbread cookie bites

The dough:

cough

The balls (tee hee)

bites

While I was making these, I decided not to look at the recipe I created for the so-so gingerbread cookies and start over again. They taste beautiful—much better than my first recipe test. I’m hoping the texture doesn’t change much in the dehydrator, and if they’re still light and fluffy in the morning, the recipe will be up tomorrow 😀

Well I’m off to make some lonchi, head back to work, weights with Jeni, pilates, Zumba, training appointment, then home!

See ya tonight <3

xoxo,

G

  16. Katie on December 16, 2009 at 2:10 pm

I love the Coconut Aminos too! Let me know your thoughts on them.

Weights – Pilates and ZUMBA – you are so fit! Your dedication to fitness (I know it’s part of the job but still) is something I admire. I would love to teach a bootcamp/recess class eventually. How many hours a day do you typically train? How long did it take to get used to teaching? I really would love to hear about it.

    Best,
    Katie

  20. Averie (LoveVeggiesandYoga) on December 16, 2009 at 3:08 pm

I can’t wait to see what you come up with for you gingerbread recipe! I made (high) raw vegan gingerbread cookie dough balls and dehydrated gingerbread cookies a few weeks back and I love ginger so can’t wait to see what you create! That’ll be the only good thing about going back home will be to get back to my Vita and my Excal and start trying out everyone’s holiday recipes 🙂

Coconut aminos? How does it taste?! I want some!

And I’ve been looking everywhere for sugar cookie sleigh ride and I can’t find it!!!

  23. Julie @savvyeats on December 16, 2009 at 3:28 pm

Coconut ‘soy’ sauce sounds better than regular soy sauce!

  24. Kailey (SnackFace) on December 16, 2009 at 3:28 pm

I’m a post behind, but you are so damn cute in glasses.

Almond butter and I are currently on a break. He was too clingy one night and I had way too much of him. I miss him, though, and can’t wait until I can tolerate him again.

Is that so wrong to personify a food? Oh well. I do it all the time.

Um, yes, that is the best tea evahhhh. Tastes like sugar cookies but better. Also acts as a perfect liquid in which one can dunk real cookies.

I hope you’re having a marvelous day, my friend! xoxoxo 🙂

  25. Katie on December 16, 2009 at 3:38 pm

Like so many other readers, am jealous that you found the tea. I CANNOT find it!! (And I think the fact that I can’t makes me want it more!!)

Oooh your raw treats looks so so so yummy!

  26. rebecca lustig on December 16, 2009 at 3:38 pm

Have you tried the candy cane flavor tea? AH-mazing.

  27. Heather @ The Joyful Kitchen on December 16, 2009 at 3:49 pm

Those cookies look absolutely fantastic…can’t wait to see how all of the dehydrator stuff turns out tomorrow!

  28. Brigid on December 16, 2009 at 3:56 pm

I’ve been wanting to try that tea. It sounds lovely.

  29. Jessica (fit and clean) on December 16, 2009 at 4:41 pm

I love almond butter. Unfortunately, I just had a whole “food sensitivity” test done, and Almonds is one of the foods that I am moderately sensitive to. SO, I am substituting: cashew butter, sunflower seed butter, and natural peanut butter…I REALLY want to try to make walnut butter. I think that would be yummy!

  30. Shelby on December 16, 2009 at 5:02 pm

Ahh I can’t wait for the recipe!!!

  31. Laura on December 16, 2009 at 5:41 pm

What kind of dehydrator do you have? I want to buy one but I haven’t done any research yet. Which one do you recommend?

    • Fitnessista on December 16, 2009 at 5:56 pm

i have the excalibur 9 tray and LOVE it

  32. Joanna on December 16, 2009 at 7:45 pm

You are too cute with the almond butter!

  33. Christina on December 16, 2009 at 7:55 pm

    Hey Gina,
I’ve been reading your blog and love it! My dad is a diabetic. Any suggestions on a good breakfast cookie for him? Thanks

    • Fitnessista on December 16, 2009 at 8:42 pm

      hey christina,
what kinds of dietary restrictions does he have??

      • Christina on December 17, 2009 at 3:58 am

No diet restrictions necessarily. He does the occasional oatmeal in the morning and other things. I just want to get him to start eating a more filling breakfast that’s quick and easy since he’s always rushing.

  34. Karla on December 16, 2009 at 8:36 pm

I’ve been looking for that trendy tea! It’s nowhere! Apparently it’s been snatched up by all the bloggies!

  35. Carolyn on December 16, 2009 at 8:36 pm

You shame me with your workout schedule. LOL

  36. Lisa on December 16, 2009 at 8:46 pm

My daughter was addicted to that tea last winter. This year she’s on to the Sugar Plum Spice. (I still like Vanilla Chai Tea.) I need some of those treats you’re whipping up.

    • Fitnessista on December 16, 2009 at 8:55 pm

      i’ll bring you some 😀

  37. Naomi on December 16, 2009 at 9:21 pm

the celestial seasonings gingerbread tea is fantastic as well!! 🙂

cant wait to see the recipe for the balls!! TWSS hehe

  38. Pam on December 16, 2009 at 9:51 pm

Mmmm! I bought the special holiday Gingerbread tea after I saw it here a while back. (I’ve seen it at Whole Foods and Harris Teeter around here).
I’m addicted to Trader Joe’s Raw AB and I ran out of it so I got desperate and picked up a jar of not-raw AB from Whole Food’s brand… um not good. Blech. I should have dropped the dough and bought raw Maranatha but it is so expensive!! Going to TJ’s for sure this week.

  39. Jackie on December 17, 2009 at 1:35 pm

Coconut aminos?! Holy heck, where did you find this? What brand is it? I’ve very soy intolerant and would love to give this a whirl! So many awesome recipes call for soy sauce and I leave it out just to please my stomach and skin.

    • Fitnessista on December 17, 2009 at 2:08 pm

i found them at the health food store!
      the brand is coconut secret
