Stormy weather

It just started raining, thundering and lightning… not bad weather to write a blog post (take a nap, watch a movie, drink hot tea.. or all of the above).

Backyard

(I tried to get a good picture of the raindrops, but instead all you can really see is our play set that should be condemned)

Before the monsoon, I made some lunch for nana and myself

Sandwich and salad

(my salad had leftover black bean burger, turkey, sweet potato, tomatoes, avocado and greens)

went to the eye doc (99% healed! Yayuhhhh)

and met up with Michele and Levi at La Mall (La Encantada).

We made a stop at AJ’s which is the king of grocery stores. Sushi counter, sandwich counter, pastries to die for, cafe, almost every ingredient you could wish for, a beautiful flower selection

and fantastic coffee drinks. I ended up getting a peach coconut water, which was about 90% sugar. Whomp whomp. I drank about half of it and when my teeth started to hurt, called it bueno.

Snack of yogurt, berries and almond butter

Use 6

and for dinner tonight, there are two chefs (Kyle and my uncle) in the kitchen making something that smells like heaven. After dinner, I’m off to make next week’s Tabata Thursday video and plan a fun workout for next week. Let me know if you have any requests!

Hope you’re having a very happy Friday <3

xoxo

Something to talk about: Favorite rainy day activity 🙂 What’s on the fitness agenda this weekend? I teach tomorrow (Zuuuumba!) and my aunt and I are going for 4 miles on Sunday.

On the agenda? Something gentle after a nasty pounding by food poisoning. I’m thinking, a walk or maybe even still the stat. bike in from of ‘E’ channel for 20 mins. Nothing like rotting your brain while you work that bod. 😀

My agenda: Trying to sleep! It’s hot hot HOT in our apartment, and I haven’t been able to sleep well the last few nights. I plan to snooze on the couch tonight because it’s cooler.

    Yep, wild weekend over here!

On a rainy day? Sleep in, pancakes, lots of coffee/tea and snuggling on the couch. I don’t veg very well, but rainy days make it sooo easy 🙂 Enjoy the family time!

Peach coconut water sounds pretty darn good to me – 90% sugar and all. 😉

Great news about your eyes! Enjoy the rain, many areas would kill for storms right now.

Zumba and Hip Hop Hustle to start off me dad tomorrow, after which my brain should be mostly mush (teaching Hip Hop Hustle is tre hard on the head!) so I’m guessing I’ll pass out on the couch…

My favorite rainy day activity is definitely Zumba!!! Really getting into it since the beginning of the year has made me much more agreeable to our rainy weather in this part of the country.

My favorite rainy day activity would have to be opening up the blinds and just watching the storm. 🙂 I also love when I’m asleep, and I wake up to the sound of rain. One of the many reasons I love AZ monsoons!

I think you look so nice without any eye make-up on:) (NOT implying that you don’t look nice when you do wear it :P)

Weekend Agenda: Volunteering at the Parrot Rescue today, then hopefully a trip to the water park tomorrow! I really wish there were more Zumba classes around here, I would love to take one of your classes if I ever get to your neck of the woods! Enjoy your weekend!

I like to spend rainy days watching movies and baking! We haven’t had a rainy day here in ages though… we’ve been going through a serious dry spell! 😛

  20. Kristen on July 21, 2012 at 10:39 am

I’m not sure what Livi is looking at but in the pic it looks like she’s eyeing Levi like,”Hey,what are you looking at? I’m over here.” So cute.

On the agenda this weekend: We were going to take lil guy to the zoo but it is thunderstorming so that’s out. Thinking about taking him to the aquarium instead. He’s 4 1/2 months and is really getting into looking at EVERYTHING so it should be fun.
Side note: I love to watch him “people watch.” When we go to the store, my hubby carries him in the carrier facing out and he “talks” to people as they pass. We make up what we think he’s saying like,”Hey lady, spandex is not cool!” or if it’s a couple,”Hey dude, your wife is checking me out.” Its cheap entertainment for us 🙂

On rainy days I like to catch up with my DVR, go shopping or read. Today I am going to take my dog for a good walk, then do stretching and weights. Tomorrow I’ll do some cardio.

  22. Christina@thebeautifulbalance on July 22, 2012 at 4:49 am

Are you experiencing the haboob in Tucson like I am in Scottsdale!? It is ridiculous up here.

  23. Melissa (Better Fit) on July 22, 2012 at 5:07 pm

Unfortunately EVERY day here has been a rainy day for the last 2 months, so rainy day activities are every day activities at the moment! 🙂 After a while, I guess we’re all just getting used to it.
