T-Town Vacay Part Dos

Hey guys! Hope you’re having a wonderful Saturday 😀

The theme of this trip so far has been food baby. I’ve been eating so much delicious food!!! *Sigh* I love it here!

Last night we dined at the incredible La Parrilla Suiza. We’ve been eating there since I was a youngin’ and the familia knows a lot of people that work at the restaurant. (Last La Parrilla experience was here).

I decided to start the night out right with a Bloody Mary:

002

(Do you see the asparagus in the background?!? Hahaha, more to follow on that!)

It was just what el doctor ordered 😉

The pilot and I, being goofballs as usual:

007

I was pretty much ravenous, so I snacked on salsa AND chips (usually I just eat the salsa and leave a chip pile) and got two green corn tamales with no cheese, and some frijoles with no cheese:

008

009

I really need to learn how to stop wasting food:

010

After I was stuffed to the gills, us girls went to see Julie and Julia while the boys watched G.I. Joe. Our movie was FANTASTIC while theirs was not so good. Sorry boys 😉

This morning, I woke up bright and early for a spa appointment and grabbed some fruit as we left the hotel:

012

After that, we met up with everyone at The Good Egg –which I refer to as the Very Delicious Egg– for bfast. (Last time we had Good Egg: here!)

I ordered the veggie omelet with no cheese or sour cream, egg whites only, cooked in spray instead of oil (with a smile on my face… servers are always nicer about interesting orders if you smile at them):

016

And a double garden salad instead of the potatoes and english muffin, no cheese, balsamic on the side:

017

It was pure bfast perfection 😀

I even had something I haven’t had in over two months: COFFEE!! I still haven’t caught up from our crazy flight here (even though I’ve gotten enough sleep, I still feel weird) and that caffeine jolt made me feel human again.

After bfast, we went to one of my favorite shopping spots:

018

The pilot found a comfy chair to lounge in:

019

And I found a bottle of wine that’s juuust my size…

020

I’m about to take a little nappy so I can hang tonight, meeting up with some friends at Bizzle, going to daddoo’s for dinner, and then OUT. Shenanigans will ensue….

Have a great day <3

  4. ellegetsfit on August 8, 2009 at 4:26 pm

I can't believe they actually made your eggs with spray! – I've never asked for that before. Usually when I ask for no oil or butter they just ignore me :/ I'll definitely try that next time!

Love it all!! I adored Julie & Julia (my hubs and his friend thought G.I.Joe had bad acting? "Just terrible! Awful!" were their outtakes).

What was with the asparagus in the background??

I love making ridiculously specific orders at restaurants and seeing the server's reaction. Most of the time it's annoyed. lol

My boyfriend said GI Joe was the worst movie he has ever seen. The worst. I'm so glad I didn't go with him!

What a great idea to take a nap before a late night, I never think to do that, then I fall asleep at 10:00 like an old lady!!

Pilot shops like the perfect husband: waiting patiently in the chair! Glad you had a java jolt and felt human again…I totally know that feeling. Enjoy your Sat. night!

"And I found a bottle of wine that’s juuust my size…"

I <3 you :o) I want to buy one of those gigantic bottles next time we are both in AZ! You and the Pilot are a lot like me and Bobby in terms of the goofiness. Life is so much more fun that way, no?

I really want to see Julie and Julia – so glad you liked it! Have a great time in T-Town! I saw Mara today and she told me that you're coming back through Chi…I hope it works this time around – text me if you're going to have some layover time!

    Gina,
So glad you're having such a wonderful time…I knew there would be a breakfast at The Good Egg somewhere in your T-Town advenutres.

La Parrilla Suiza looks so good – chips included of course. 🙂

I'm dying to see Julie and Julia, but I don't think I'm going to be able to talk Christian Dior into that one!

Enjoy the rest of your trip. Always love seeing pictures of you and the Pilot. They never fail to make me smile.
